The discussion in the courthouse parking lot has concluded. However, it will continue the following day at a location to be announced by Queen Kayana. The discussion, which will take place the following day, will of course be attended by many people involved in the case, whether as victims, perpetrators, or witnesses. Because the case is so large, even involving two Dukes, discussions about it will likely continue for the next few days.
I am not required to attend the discussions tomorrow or the next few days because I am an academy student and must focus on my studies at the academy. Queen Kayana said that if she needs any explanation or information from me, she will have Miss Karina obtain it from me, and then Miss Karina will relay it to Queen Kayana herself. Therefore, I don't need to interfere too much in the discussion.
After the discussion in the courthouse parking lot concluded, we all left the parking lot and went to the front of the courthouse. There was a large crowd in front of the courthouse. Upon seeing us approaching, several people began rushing towards us. However, the knights on guard immediately stopped the people from approaching us. The people who attempted to approach us were seen carrying writing utensils and small notebooks.
"Those are the ones from Diganta, huh," said Queen Kayana.
Then Queen Kayana approached the knights holding the men.
"Enough, let them go. They surely want information about what really happened in this courthouse. Let them get the information from us," said Queen Kayana.
"But, there are quite a lot of them, Your Majesty. We're afraid they might cause you trouble. Also, it's possible that one of them is disguised as a Diganta member and intends to harm you," said one of the knights.
"You're going too far. Besides, you're still acting as a barrier between me and them, preventing them from approaching me, right? So I'm confident I'll remain safe even if questioned by that many people," said Queen Kayana.
"Very well then, Your Majesty," said the knight.
Then the knights who were holding the people from Diganta began to release them. The people quickly approached Queen Kayana. However, they were immediately restrained by several knights to not get too close to Queen Kayana. The people understood because after all, Queen Kayana's safety and security were number one.
The people remained orderly even though they were restrained by several knights so as not to approach Queen Kayana. The people then began to ask Queen Kayana questions. Queen Kayana answered their questions one by one. She also explained what happened in this courthouse and the results of the trial regarding the incident that occurred in the Hevea forest. Seeing Queen Kayana's calm in explaining and answering questions from the Diganta people, it was clear that she was truly the Queen of this kingdom. Although the clothes she was wearing at that time did not reflect her as a Queen because she wore casual clothes when she came to the courthouse. Well, that was natural considering that coming to the courthouse to watch the trial was not a formal event for Queen Kayana, so she was not required to wear her Queen's attire.
Besides Queen Kayana, the people from Diganta also approached Duke Remy, Duke Louis, Commander Oliver, Miss Karina, and even me. Considering I was previously named as the perpetrator in the incident in Hevea Forest, it made sense that they came to me to get an explanation from me about what really happened. They asked me about what really happened in Hevea Forest, about the trial that was held in the courthouse earlier, and about the demons who suddenly attacked the courthouse and its surroundings. They knew about the demons because they saw the corpses of demons in front of the courthouse.
I answered all of their questions, but there were some questions that I answered "I don't know" even though I actually knew. I answered like that because I thought it wasn't my authority to answer and give them a detailed explanation. Fortunately, they believed my answers even though I said "I don't know". Besides asking about those three things, they also asked other things, even things outside the topic of the incident in Hevea Forest and the courthouse. One of them was about my relationship with Irene. I was at a loss for an answer, so I just answered briefly. Even though I'd answered their questions, they continued to ask me new ones, and the longer it took, the more I became frustrated.
-
An hour later.
The Diganta people's stopped questioning me. They left, but they remained in front of the courthouse.
"Haaaahhhh, it's finally over. I never thought I'd have to answer their questions for an hour," I said.
"How does it feel to be famous, Rid?" asked Miss Karina, who suddenly approached me.
"Is Miss Karina making fun of me?" I asked.
"Ahahaha. Come on, take this," said Miss Karina.
Miss Karina then threw something at me. I quickly caught it. After catching it, I noticed it was a bottled drink.
"A drink?" I asked, confused.
"You must be tired after answering their questions, right? That's for you, just drink it," said Miss Karina.
I saw Miss Karina holding the same water bottle I'd been given. She also took a sip from it.
"Thank you, Miss Karina. Then I'll accept it," I said.
"Yes," said Miss Karina.
After drinking the drink Miss Karina had offered me, I chatted with Miss Karina again.
"I thought Miss Karina was going to take my place in answering the Diganta people's questions," I said.
"I was also being questioned by the Diganta people at the time, so I couldn't take your place while you were being questioned by them. Besides, even if I wasn't being questioned by the Diganta people, I still wouldn't want to take your place. If I did, you wouldn't have the experience of dealing with questions from people like them. I'm sure you'll experience something like this again in the future, so you'll definitely be questioned by people like them again. So this is a good way to gain experience," said Miss Karina.
"Miss Karina is right," I said.
While I was chatting with Miss Karina, I noticed several people waving at me from the side of the road right in front of the courthouse gate. I recognized all of the people waving at me.
"Miss Karina, may I excuse myself for a moment? There are people I'd like to meet," I said.
"Okay," Miss Karina said.
Then I left Miss Karina to meet the people. When I reached them, I immediately spoke to them.
"You guys, so you're still here," I said.
The people I was meeting were Uncle Dean, Uncle Bill, Uncle Isaac, Eric, and several other Aston villagers.
"Of course, because we won't be going home until the outcome of your trial is known, Rid," said Uncle Isaac.
"We were waiting in front of the courthouse. But suddenly, a lot of people came out of the courthouse, and then some demons started chasing them. Everyone in front of the courthouse panicked and tried to escape. We escaped by leaving the courthouse grounds. Once the situation was under control and the demons were defeated, we decided to return to the courthouse," said Uncle Bill.
"I see. No wonder you all weren't seen in the courthouse parking lot. Several people were taking shelter there. But seeing as you weren't hurt at all, I'm grateful you're all okay," I said.
"What about you, Rid? How was the outcome of the trial?" Uncle Bill asked.
"That's right, Rid. We were curious about the outcome of your trial because we haven't received any information about it," said Eric.
"You don't need to worry. I was found not guilty in that incident, so I'm now free," I said.
"Thank God," said Uncle Bill.
"Thank God, Rid," said Uncle Dean.
Then several of them started embracing me. Then I chatted with them all, relieving my longing for seeing them all.
-
30 minutes later.
While I was chatting with the people from Aston Village, Queen Kayana approached me. She wasn't alone; she was also accompanied by Duke Remy, Duke Louis, Miss Karina, Caroline, Commander Oliver, and several knights standing guard around them.
"You seem to be having a great time chatting, Rid," said Queen Kayana.
"Your Majesty? Ah, excuse me, Your Majesty. Does Your Majesty need me?" I asked.
"Nothing, I was just curious who you were talking to because you seemed so engrossed in conversation. Who are they, Rid?" asked Queen Kayana.
"Let me introduce you, Your Majesty. They were my friends and neighbors when I was still living in Aston Village. He's the village chief of Aston Village, and his name is Uncle Bill," I said, putting my hand on Uncle Bill's shoulder.
"Greetings, Your Majesty," said Uncle Bill, bowing.
The other people from Aston Village also bowed.
"Enough, you don't need to bow," said Queen Kayana.
Uncle Bill and the others followed Queen Kayana's lead.
"Aston Village, huh, a village in the San Minerva region. It's one of the villages led by Viscount Ivan. So you're from Aston Village, Rid," said Queen Kayana.
"Yes, Your Majesty," I said.
"So you know about our village, Your Majesty. I'm quite surprised, considering our village is only a small one," said Uncle Bill.
"As Queen of this kingdom, it's my duty to know everything about the kingdom, down to its villages," said Queen Kayana.
"I see. I apologize for underestimating your knowledge, Your Majesty," said Uncle Bill with a bow.
"Okay, that's fine. By the way, Rid, are you finished chatting with them? If you are, Academy principal will escort you back to the academy. But if not, you should finish your conversation first. After all, you haven't seen them in a while, right?" asked Queen Kayana.
"Yes, Your Majesty. I still have something I'd like to discuss with them. May I ask for more time to speak with them?" I asked.
"I don't mind, what about you, Ms. Principal?" asked Queen Kayana.
"I don't mind either," said Miss Karina.
"The academy principal said the same thing. Speak with them until you're satisfied, Rid, because after you return to the academy, it might take a while before you can see them again," said Queen Kayana.
"Yes, Your Majesty," I said.
"Then I'll excuse myself, as I still have some matters to attend to around the courthouse. I apologize if I interrupted your conversation," said Queen Kayana.
"It's ok, Your Majesty, you don't need to apologize," I said.
"Well, then I'll take my leave," said Queen Kayana.
"Please, Your Majesty," I said, bowing.
Uncle Bill and the other Aston villagers also bowed. Meanwhile, Queen Kayana and the others returned to the courthouse area. As Queen Kayana and the others headed toward the courthouse area, Duke Louis emerged from Queen Kayana's entourage and approached me.
"Uncle Louis? Why are you here? Didn't you just leave with Her Majesty the Queen?" I asked.
"I just came here to say something. After you talk to your friends and neighbors, could you spare a moment to talk to me? After this, I'm going to Sancta Lux Church to check on my knights, but after that, I'll be back here. If you're done talking with them and I haven't returned to the courthouse, could you wait for me?" Duke Louis asked.
"Ok, Uncle, I'll wait for you and spare a moment to talk to you," I said.
"Thank you, Rid," said Duke Louis.
"You're welcome, Uncle," I said.
"Then, if you'll excuse me. I have to catch up with Her Majesty," said Duke Louis.
"Please go, Uncle," I said.
Duke Louis then left to catch up with Queen Kayana, while I continued my conversation with the people from Aston Village. When he caught up with Queen Kayana's entourage, Duke Louis immediately approached Queen Kayana and spoke with her.
"Excuse me, Your Majesty, may I go and check on some of my knights who are currently at the Sancta Lux Church?" asked Duke Remy.
"The Sancta Lux Church? Oh, that's right. You said some of your knights were injured after fighting a demon that emerged from the courthouse grounds," said Queen Kayana.
"Yes, Your Majesty," said Duke Louis.
"Very well, if you wish to go there, I permit it, Lord Louis," said Queen Kayana.
"Thank you, Your Majesty. Then, if you'll excuse me," said Duke Louis.
"Yes," said Queen Kayana.
Duke Louis then left Queen Kayana's entourage. Queen Kayana looked at Duke Louis as he left. Then she turned to the people behind her.
"Do any of you have the same business as Lord Louis? I don't mind letting you go if you have business," said Queen Kayana.
"Me, Your Majesty. I request permission to go look for my knights. I haven't found them since earlier and I don't know where they are. I'm worried they might have been injured without my knowledge," said Duke Remy, raising his hand.
"Please, Lord Remy, I permit it," said Queen Kayana.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," said Duke Remy.
"Yes," said Queen Kayana.
Duke Remy then left the group.
"Is there anything else? Ms. Principal and Sir Oliver, don't you have any business?" asked Queen Kayana.
"I have no business, Your Majesty. But if you allow me, may I take a look around this courthouse? I just want to look around," said Miss Karina.
"Very well, the discussion is currently suspended. If you would like to look around, please do, Ms. Principal," said Queen Kayana.
"Yes, Your Majesty the Queen. Then, if you'll excuse me," said Miss Karina.
"Yes," said Queen Kayana.
Then Miss Karina left the group.
"If I have no business, Your Majesty. I will accompany you," said Commander Oliver.
"Very well. I plan to go inside the courthouse to inspect the damage in detail," said Queen Kayana.
"Then I will go with you, Your Majesty," said Commander Oliver.
Then Queen Kayana, Commander Oliver, and the others went inside the courthouse. Once inside, Caroline decided to explore the interior, so she parted ways with Queen Kayana. Meanwhile, Queen Kayana and Commander Oliver were currently in the center of the courtroom, right next to the defendant's chair. As Queen Kayana and Commander Oliver were inspecting the area, a bright light suddenly appeared from Commander Oliver's pocket. Queen Kayana, seeing the light, immediately turned to Commander Oliver.
"It seems someone is contacting me via communication crystal, Your Majesty. I request permission to take this call," said Commander Oliver.
"Yes," said Queen Kayana.
Then Commander Oliver received the call from the communication crystal, while Queen Kayana remained focused on examining the damaged walls and objects in the central hall of the courthouse.
A few minutes later, Commander Oliver approached Queen Kayana to deliver a report.
"Your Majesty, I just received a report from Asier," said Commander Oliver.
"Asier? So it was Asier who contacted you just now?," said Queen Kayana.
"Yes, Your Majesty," said Commander Oliver.
"What report did Asier give?" asked Queen Kayana.
"When Asier arrived at Duke James's residence, he didn't find Miss Claret there. He and his troops searched every room in the residence, but they still couldn't find her. Even Duke James's knights don't know where Miss Claret went," said Commander Oliver.
"Hmm, where did she go? Could it be that she already knew her husband's plan had been uncovered and decided to flee?" asked Queen Kayana.
"Perhaps so, Your Majesty. It seems that Miss Claret was also involved in the plot. If she wasn't, she wouldn't have had to flee," said Commander Oliver.
"It seems so," said Queen Kayana.
"Then, there's another report given by Asier, Your Majesty. But I don't know whether I should report this or not," said Commander Oliver.
"Just tell me, Sir Oliver. What's in that report that you don't know whether to report it?" asked Queen Kayana.
"Because this report concerns your husband, Her Majesty, King Albert," said Commander Oliver.
"My husband? What's in that report?" asked Queen Kayana.
"After Asier couldn't find Miss Claret at her residence, Asier and his troops focused on searching for any suspicious evidence or documents in the residence. Then he found one of the documents and began to read it. In it, it stated that your husband, King Albert, was also involved in the plot to assassinate you and the entire San Lucia family," said Commander Oliver.
"What?!?!," said Queen Kayana, shocked.
