Meanwhile, in a city within the San Angela region.

Commander Asier and several of his knights were seen battling demons and other individuals who were attacking the city. Vice Commander Sara was nowhere to be seen; it appeared she had been assigned elsewhere.

"These demons are stronger than the ones I fought at the courthouse two years ago. Everyone, stay alert," Commander Asier said.

"Understood, Commander," the Frost Wolf knights replied.

Commander Asier then stomped his right foot onto the ground. Moments later, massive ice spikes erupted from beneath the earth, instantly impaling several of the demons attacking him and his troops. The demons went motionless the moment they were pierced by the spikes. Commander Asier then dashed toward the ordinary-looking individuals who were also part of the assault.

"You look like nobles. Did you orchestrate this attack? Or is someone else pulling the strings?" Commander Asier asked.

"Why should we tell you? Everyone, attack!" shouted one of the assailants.

The group lunged at Commander Asier with their respective weapons, but he evaded their strikes with ease. As he dodged, he was seen slowly inhaling; then, he exhaled the air he had just drawn in.

~Ice Magic: Ice Breath~

The air Commander Asier exhaled was intensely cold. It caused his opponents to slowly freeze over. However, they did not freeze completely; only parts of their bodies were encased in ice, rendering them immobile. Since they were not fully frozen, they were still able to speak.

"What the hell is this?! I can't move my body."

"Me too, I can't move at all."

"Hey, you bastard, let us go," the men shouted.

Commander Asier then pointed his sword at the throat of the man who had called him a bastard. The man was instantly terrified to see the blade hovering right before his neck, poised to strike.

"I'm impressed that you can still hurl insults when you can't even move a muscle. If you want me to release you and the others, the least you could do is ask politely," Commander Asier said.

With that, Commander Asier slashed the man's neck, severing his head. The head flew through the air before finally hitting the ground, while the headless body slowly slumped to the earth. No blood gushed from the severed neck, as Commander Asier had frozen the wound the instant he struck.

The other men were seized by fear and panic upon seeing their comrade beheaded. Commander Asier then turned his attention to the remaining men, who were still frozen in place and unable to move.

"I will spare your lives if you answer my questions, but if you refuse, you will meet the same fate as him," Commander Asier declared.

"A-alright, Commander. I-I'll answer whatever you ask, as long as y-you don't kill me."

"M-me too, Commander."

"M-me too... a-as long as you don't kill me," the men stammered.

"Good, I really appreciate those willing to cooperate."

"Tell me, who ordered you to attack the cities and villages in the San Angela territory? It’s not just San Angela; I heard from Commander Oliver that the San Lucia territory is under attack as well. I’m certain that San Minerva, San Quentine, and even the capital, San Estella, have been targeted too. What is the reason for these attacks?" Commander Asier asked.

The men fell silent for a moment. Then, shortly after, one of them began to speak.

"I’ll tell you, Commander. The person who ordered us to attack the territories of the San Fulgen Kingdom was—" the man said.

But before he could finish his sentence, a massive slash of fire suddenly appeared, slicing him clean in two. He was instantly set ablaze by the impact of the attack.

"What?!" Commander Asier exclaimed.

Commander Asier was shocked to see the man who had been about to reveal the information suddenly killed by a fiery slash. Their comrades were equally stunned. Just then, several Frost Wolf knights standing near Commander Asier shouted a warning to him.

"Commander Asier, dodge!" the knights cried out.

They shouted because they saw numerous large-scale elemental slashes hurtling toward Commander Asier’s position. The attacks moved so swiftly that he had no time to dodge them all.

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

The slashes struck his location, creating a series of massive impacts and explosions.

"Commander Asier!!!" the Frost Wolf knights cried out.

A cloud of dust and smoke enveloped the area, obscuring Commander Asier from view. However, the haze did not last long; it slowly began to dissipate. Once it cleared, a large ice dome was revealed where Commander Asier had been standing. The dome slowly cracked and shattered, revealing Commander Asier, who had taken shelter inside.

"Commander Asier, he survived."

"It seems we were worried for nothing."

"True. After all, he is a commander; there's no way he'd be defeated so easily," remarked the Frost Wolf knights stationed nearby.

Commander Asier then surveyed his surroundings. The people he had been questioning moments earlier lay dead, their bodies mangled and drenched in blood. He showed no sign of shock at the sight of the carnage.

He then turned his gaze forward. Several buildings stood ahead, and on their rooftops, a large number of people were watching him. They bore the distinct characteristics of the Demon race. They were each brandishing weapons infused with various elemental magics; some even wielded weapons coursing with ~Dark Magic~. Furthermore, the demons wore attire strikingly similar to that of Commander Ivana.

"Those outfits... those are the garments typically worn by the people of Kaminari. Why are people from Kaminari here, and why have they turned into demons?" Commander Asier asked, bewildered.

Commander Asier then recalled Commander Ivana’s words from the meeting between Queen Kayana and all the San Fulgen commanders. At the time, Ivana had mentioned that the refugees arriving in the San Fulgen Kingdom from Kaminari were all being received and sheltered by Duke Remy.

"So that’s it—the reason people from Kaminari are here is that they are refugees who came to this kingdom. And the reason they were transformed into demons must be that the very person who took them in and sheltered them was responsible for the change. It turns out the mastermind behind the events plaguing this kingdom for the past few years is Lord Remy. He is also the one who orchestrated the assassination of Her Majesty the Queen and the entire San Lucia family," Commander Asier concluded.

Commander Asier felt a sense of dismay; it had never crossed his mind that Duke Remy was the true culprit. That was understandable, of course, given the complete lack of evidence pointing toward the Duke until now. Yet, with the mastermind’s identity finally revealed, Commander Asier knew exactly what his next move would be.

"I hear the San Lucia territory is also under attack by demons, just like San Angela. It seems Lord Remy is targeting San Lucia to strike at the San Lucia family residing in the city there. I must defeat the demons and the forces attacking this territory immediately so I can rush to San Lucia and aid my family."

"But before that, I need to report the information identifying Lord Remy as the mastermind to Commander Oliver and Her Majesty the Queen," said Commander Asier.

Commander Asier intended to convey this information to Commander Oliver, but the people from the Land of Kaminari who had transformed into demons did not stand idly by. They instantly lunged at Commander Asier and launched an attack.

Meanwhile, in a city within the San Minerva territory.

A vast pool of silvery liquid flooded the area. Standing at the center of this expanse was Commander Keira, gazing up at the roof of the building before her. Crowding the rooftop were numerous people from the Land of Kaminari who had transformed into demons.

"People from the Land of Kaminari... why are they here?" Commander Keira wondered aloud.

The transformed Kaminari people immediately launched an attack on her. Commander Keira retaliated, unleashing her ~Silver Magic~ against them.

In a city within the San Lucia region.

Commander Allister was engaged in battle against Kaminari citizens who had turned into demons. He fought unarmed, relying solely on his bare hands. Yet, he was clearly employing magic; his entire body was enveloped in a dense, green magical aura. Two massive tornadoes swirled nearby—manifestations of Commander Allister's magic—trapping numerous demons within their vortexes and spinning them wildly in the wind.

"There are so many of them. I have to defeat them all and hurry to San Lucia City to provide backup," Commander Allister declared.

In a city within the San Quentine region.

Heavy snow was falling, blanketing the ground and streets in a thick layer of white. Commander Ivana walked forward along one of these snow-covered streets. Behind her lay the mangled, severed remains of several demons she had slain. Commander Ivana continued walking forward, facing a massive horde of demons poised to attack her.

"So, are you all demons commanded by the person who orchestrated the assassination of my entire family? How convenient, if I wipe you out, I might just find the mastermind behind it all. Perhaps the person responsible will reveal themselves the moment I finish you off," Commander Ivana said.

With that, she drove her sword—or rather, her katana, into the snow-covered ground beneath her feet.

~Snow Magic : Ocean of Snow~

The snow blanketing the path and the ground beneath her began to rise, slowly engulfing the demons standing before her. The surging snow resembled a vast ocean. Then, the rising snow gradually receded to its original level. The path and ground where Commander Ivana stood became visible again, though some areas remained blanketed in snow. However, the demons that had been submerged in the rising snow were nowhere to be seen once it subsided; they had vanished without a trace.

Commander Ivana resumed her walk along the path ahead. She had taken only a few steps when several elemental slashes suddenly came flying toward her. She swiftly dodged the attacks. After evading them, she turned to look at the direction from which the slashes had originated. There, she saw a multitude of people from the Land of Kaminari who had been transformed into demons.

"People from the Land of Kaminari... I see, regarding what I said earlier, even though I didn't find the mastermind behind the assassination plot after defeating the previous demons, I have at least discovered who was actually orchestrating it."

"Lord Remy, you have truly taken such good care of the refugees from the Land of Kaminari. You have even transformed them into 'this',"

"Lord Remy is currently at the academy. Lord Louis and Her Majesty the Queen are surely there as well. I must contact them immediately and reveal that Lord Remy is the mastermind behind the plot to assassinate Her Majesty and the entire San Lucia family. But it seems I won't be given the chance to contact them; I have to finish these ones off first," Commander Ivana said, gazing at the people from the Land of Kaminari who had transformed into demons.

With that, Commander Ivana and the people from Kaminari began to clash.
