Chapter 332 : Incident at the Academy Tournament Arena

Miss Karina and Miss Violetta began preparing to engage the demons that were closing in on them.

"Wait a moment, Miss Karina, Miss Violetta. Do you both still intend to fight in that condition?" I asked.

I asked this because both Miss Karina and Miss Violetta were covered in wounds. It seemed most of these injuries had been sustained when they were trapped in the earlier tornado; the vortex had not only confined them but had also lacerated their bodies.

"It doesn't matter that I'm injured like this. As long as I can stand, I am capable of fighting them. It is my duty as a commander at this academy to guard and protect it," Miss Violetta declared.

"Even so, your injuries are concerning, Miss. I will heal both of you," I said.

"Wait, heal—" Miss Violetta began.

But before she could finish her sentence, I had already cast a healing spell on them both.

~Full Healing~

The wounds on Miss Karina and Miss Violetta’s bodies slowly began to fade. Moments later, they had vanished completely. Miss Violetta looked astonished to see her injuries gone, whereas Miss Karina appeared unfazed by her recovery.

"My wounds are completely healed? And yet, some of them came from ~Dark Magic~ attacks—the kind that ordinary healing magic cannot cure. How were you able to heal all my wounds with your magic, Rid?" a surprised Miss Violetta asked.

I remained silent in response to her question. Then, I turned toward Miss Karina. She looked back at me and proceeded to explain the situation to Miss Violetta.

"I already knew that Rid's healing magic could cure wounds caused by ~Dark Magic~ attacks. He used it to heal me during the demon attack incident at the courthouse. However, I still don't understand why his healing magic works on ~Dark Magic~ wounds—especially since it's just ordinary healing magic, not magic derived from ~Light Magic~. Even Rid himself doesn't know why the healing magic he normally uses is effective against ~Dark Magic~ injuries. It remains a mystery," said Miss Karina.

Miss Violetta fell silent after hearing Miss Karina's words; she appeared to be deep in thought.

"It's not just wounds from ~Dark Magic~ attacks; Rid was even able to heal the mental scars, the trauma I’ve suffered since fighting that 'monster'. It’s truly strange."

"It seems the healing magic Rid uses can cure any kind of wound. If that’s the case, the magic he possesses might be something rare," Miss Violetta mused.

She remained silent, still lost in thought. Noticing this, Miss Karina spoke up immediately.

"You really shouldn't dwell on that, Violetta. You don't have the time for it right now," Miss Karina said, glancing toward the academy gates.

Demons pouring in from the academy gates were beginning to close in on them. Miss Violetta, who had been lost in thought, realized that now was not the time to be silent.

"You're right, Miss . I apologize for zoning out just now," Miss Violetta said.

"It’s fine. More importantly, since you now know that Rid’s healing magic can cure wounds caused by ~Dark Magic~, I must ask you to keep this a secret; only a select few are aware of his healing magic," said Miss Karina.

"Understood, Miss. I will keep it a secret," replied Miss Violetta.

"Good. Now that we’ve both recovered, let’s set about finishing them all off," said Miss Karina.

"Very well, Miss," said Miss Violetta.

"I’ll help the two of you," I said.

With that, Miss Karina, Lady Violetta, and I dashed toward the demons swarming in from the academy gate. The three of us immediately unleashed our respective attacks upon them.

~Plant Sword Art: Oleander's Resin Slash~

Thanks to our combined attacks, we successfully defeated the majority of the demons pouring in from the academy gate.

"I forgot to ask you this, Rid. Did you see where King Albert went? I saw him heading toward the academy's lobby building earlier, yet you came from that same direction," Miss Karina said, continuing to attack the demons surrounding her.

"King Albert? I slammed him against the boundary wall near the academy's staff and faculty residence, Miss. You can see the wall that’s been smashed and set ablaze near the residence, can't you? That’s where he ended up after I threw him there," I replied, while also keeping up my assault on the nearby demons.

Miss Karina turned to look at the wall I had pointed out. It was still burning, though the flames were not as intense as before.

"So, you were the one who damaged and destroyed that wall?" Miss Karina asked.

"Yes, Miss. I apologize for slamming King Albert into it," I said.

"It’s fine; besides, most of the buildings and structures here have likely already been destroyed by the demons' attack, so I don't mind. More importantly, what is King Albert's condition? Has he been taken down?" Miss Karina asked.

"I did slam him against the wall, Miss, but I don't know if he’s been defeated or not. Immediately afterward, I rushed to save you and Miss Violetta from the tornado that had trapped you," I said.

"I see. So, you don't know whether King Albert has been defeated yet," Miss Karina said.

After that, Miss Karina and I resumed our attack on the demons surrounding us. While I was fighting, I sensed someone's aura rapidly closing in on me. I recognized the owner of that aura.

"It seems he hasn't been taken down yet, Miss," I said.

No sooner had he spoken than King Albert was suddenly right beside me, launching an immediate attack with the same black, blazing sword of fire he had used earlier. Sensing the move, I instantly raised my own sword to block his strike, and our swords clashed.

Miss Karina and Miss Violetta, who were standing nearby, looked startled to see King Albert suddenly appear and attack me. They seemed intent on intervening and striking at the King while he was locked in combat with me, but I quickly stopped them.

"Wait, Miss Karina, Miss Violetta. There is no need for you to help; I can handle this myself. You had better focus on the opponents who are about to arrive," I said.

Just then, Duchess Harriet and Duchess Claret suddenly appeared beside Miss Karina and Miss Violetta. They immediately launched an attack, but Miss Karina and Miss Violetta nimbly parried the blows.

"So, the troublesome enemies have finally returned. It seems the attack we landed earlier wasn't enough to take the two of you down," Miss Karina remarked.

"It’s a stroke of luck that you’ve reappeared; we’ve recovered from our injuries, so let’s pick up the fight where we left off," Miss Violetta added.

Miss Karina engaged Duchess Claret in combat, while Miss Violetta faced Duchess Harriet. Meanwhile, I continued my battle with King Albert. The King was in a dire state, his body covered in burns from the attack I had unleashed on him earlier. Yet, despite the extensive burns, he moved with remarkable speed and agility. Even so, it posed no real difficulty for me, as I was still able to land hits on him.

Right now, the three of us are focused on our respective opponents. However, we aren't just fighting those three; there are other demons nearby interfering in our battles. We have to contend with these additional demons even while facing the powerful ones serving as our primary adversaries.

Meanwhile, at the intersection connecting the academy gardens, the shopping district, and the dormitories:

Irene stands gripping her rapier, exhaling a breath that forms a visible white mist in the air. Scattered around her are the frozen, severed remains of both demons and ordinary humans.

"It’s not just demons; ordinary people are attacking the academy too. They seem to be targeting this place to kill me, a member of the San Lucia family. They surely intend to kill my father and mother, who happen to be here as well. I won't let them get away with it," Irene declares.

She then turns her gaze toward the shopping district. There, several demons and ordinary people are clashing with academy knights and students. Irene instantly darts toward the scene, launching immediate attacks on the demons and individuals involved in the assault.

-

At the academy lake:

Chloe is battling a group of demons and ordinary people, wielding twin daggers forged from fire magic. She relentlessly engages the nearby enemies in close-quarters combat. Once she has defeated those close at hand, she draws the bow from her back and begins firing arrows at the demons and ordinary people positioned further away.

-

In the academy forest:

Charles was seen gazing at a large cube formed of water magic hovering before him. Trapped inside were numerous demons and ordinary people. Those trapped within the water cube appeared to be running out of air, unable to breathe underwater. Charles then gripped his sword and instantly slashed the water cube into several pieces; the demons and civilians inside were sliced apart along with it.

Knights and academy students present in the academy forest watched in awe at Charles's actions.

"You are truly amazing, Prince."

"Indeed. The Prince is incredibly skilled and powerful," remarked several knights and students.

Furthermore, they expressed their gratitude to Charles for coming to their aid in the academy forest.

"Thank you for helping us, Prince."

"That's right; without you, we would surely still be fighting those demons," said some of the soldiers and students.

"There is no need to thank me. Besides, this battle is far from over," Charles said, glancing around.

More demons were closing in on Charles, the knights, and the academy students.

"It looks like this fight is going to be a long one," Charles remarked, bracing himself to attack the approaching demons.

-

At the academy tournament arena.

A few people remained in the area, but Queen Kayana, Commander Oliver, Duke Louis, and Duchess Arlet were nowhere to be seen; it appeared they had already left.

The remaining individuals were visibly terrified, horrified by the sight of several people among them lying on the ground, drenched in blood. Even Duke Dylan and his wife, Duchess Hazel, lay sprawled on the ground, drenched in blood; it was unclear whether they were still alive. Panic and terror gripped the few remaining conscious individuals in the room as they watched Duchess Arnett, Vyn, Commander Dayne, and the knights of Duke San Quentine advance and strike them down one by one.

Meanwhile, in another section of the academy tournament’s spectator area.

Duchess Ecrin, the wife of Duke San Angela, also lay on the ground, covered in blood. Standing motionless nearby—staring blankly ahead with a look of shock—was her husband, Duke Neil. The shock was etched on his face because, right before him, Duke Remy was driving a sword into his chest.

"Lord Remy... why?" Duke Neil asked.

Duke Neil collapsed and lay on the floor, blood continuing to flow from the stab wound in his chest. Duke Remy swung his sword to clear away the blood clinging to the blade. Duchess Arnett, Vyn, Commander Dayne, and Duke San Quentine’s knights approached Duke Remy after finishing off the others in the room. Duke Remy looked toward them as they drew near.

"Let the hunt begin," Duke Remy said, his expression serious.
