Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 190: To the Dungeon

After all, it was none of Chen Qingdi’s business, so he didn’t give it much thought.

"Elder Wu, you only see our Luo Family occupying your Wu Family’s territory."

"Don’t forget that you’ve occupied our family’s territory before. And you’ve taken plenty from other, smaller families as well."

Luo Tianfeng said.

"Let’s not dwell on the past. Since you’ve shown your sincerity, I won’t beat around the bush. I’ll take my men and leave the Luo Family’s grounds right now,"

Elder Wu said with a grin.

"I won’t see you out,"

Luo Tianfeng said bluntly.

Elder Wu left the Luo Family grounds, completely satisfied.

On the way out, Chen Qingdi said he had other matters to attend to and parted ways with Elder Wu.

In truth, he was planning to sneak back into the Luo Family compound to search for Situ Xian’s son.

After all, he had promised Situ Xian some time ago. Several days had passed without him doing anything about it, and Chen Qingdi felt a little guilty.

Situ Xian’s son was named Situ Yun. He had been held captive by the Luo Family for some time now, and Chen Qingdi had no idea if he was even still alive.

Of course, Chen Qingdi knew that if he rashly asked whether Situ Xian’s son was being held there, the Luo Family wouldn’t tell him the truth.

And they might even end up capturing him as well.

With a light leap, Chen Qingdi vaulted over a wall and into the Luo Family’s rear courtyard.

The area was deserted.

Chen Qingdi wandered around inside, but the Luo Family estate was simply too large.

After all, it was easy to get lost just walking around the compound of a great family like this.

After wandering for a long time, he still had nothing to show for it.

He couldn’t keep this up.

"I’ve got to find someone to ask. This is getting me nowhere,"

Chen Qingdi muttered.

So Chen Qingdi continued forward. Soon, he set his sights on a Luo Family bodyguard on patrol.

The bodyguard was alone—a perfect opportunity. Naturally, Chen Qingdi wasn’t going to let it pass.

Chen Qingdi quickly closed in on the bodyguard and knocked him unconscious with a single knife-hand strike, then dragged him to a more secluded corner.

He pressed one of the man’s pressure points, and the bodyguard came to.

Upon waking, the bodyguard was naturally terrified.

Chen Qingdi clamped a hand over the man’s mouth.

"Don’t speak. Speak and you die."

As he spoke, he forced a pill into the man’s mouth.

"What did you make me eat?"

the man asked.

"Poison."

"And only I have the antidote,"

Chen Qingdi said in a low voice.

"Please don’t kill me."

The man’s face turned pale with fright.

"Just answer my questions obediently, and I’ll let you go in a bit."

"How about it?"

Chen Qingdi asked, looking at the man with a smile.

"Okay."

"Go ahead and ask,"

the bodyguard said.

"Did you capture someone recently?"

"And lock him in the Luo Family’s dungeon?"

Chen Qingdi asked.

"I really don’t know about that!"

The bodyguard shook his head repeatedly.

"Then do you know where the Luo Family’s dungeon is?"

Chen Qingdi asked.

"I know that."

"Are you trying to go to the dungeon?"

"It’s heavily guarded. You won’t be able to get in,"

the bodyguard said, shaking his head again and again.

"Just take me there. You don’t need to worry about what happens after."

"But whatever you do, don’t tell anyone I was here right away."

"It won’t end well for you either,"

Chen Qingdi said.

"Okay."

The bodyguard agreed immediately.

Perhaps terrified of dying, the Luo Family bodyguard was extremely obedient. He quickly led Chen Qingdi to a blind spot in the third courtyard of the Luo estate.

Several people stood guard there.

They were all experts from the Luo Family. If he tried to force his way in, he would certainly alert even more of the family’s experts.

"That’s the entrance to the Luo Family’s dungeon."

"It’s guarded by four Master-realm experts."

"Are you really going to go?"

The bodyguard seemed hesitant for Chen Qingdi to proceed.

"Yes."

"I have to."

Chen Qingdi nodded.

"I’ve brought you to the spot. Can you give me the antidote now?"

The bodyguard looked at Chen Qingdi.

Chen Qingdi gave the bodyguard another pill.

"Swallow this, and the poison will be neutralized."

"Don’t tell anyone you brought me here. Otherwise, you won’t escape blame, and you probably won’t be able to keep working here,"

Chen Qingdi said.

"I know. I’m not stupid."

The bodyguard nodded with a smile and then left.

Chen Qingdi, however, was left wondering what to do next. ’Should I really just attack them head-on?’

A direct assault was the worst possible plan, but in this situation, were there any other options?

It seemed there were none.

Chen Qingdi thought it over and decided he couldn’t just wait around. He strode out into the open.

Then he walked confidently up to the entrance of the Luo Family dungeon.

Seeing Chen Qingdi approach, the four Master-realm experts immediately gestured for him to stop.

"Who are you?"

"Who let you come here?"

The leader of the guards was one of the Luo Family’s protectors, Zheng Shoucheng. He was also the most powerful of the four.

He stared at Chen Qingdi with a cold expression.

"Young Master Luo sent me to check the dungeon for any security risks."

"Open the dungeon gate for me,"

Chen Qingdi said with a calm expression.

"What?"

"You want to enter the dungeon."

Zheng Shoucheng looked at Chen Qingdi.

"Yes, Young Master Luo sent me."

"Don’t you understand?"

Chen Qingdi said.

"No, I don’t!"

"There’s no one like you in the Luo Family. Who are you, really?"

"Young Master Luo has given orders that no one is to enter the dungeon without his command,"

Zheng Shoucheng said.

"I already told you, I came on Young Master Luo’s orders."

"Why can’t you understand plain language?"

Chen Qingdi said.

"If it’s an order, there should be a written warrant. And Young Master Luo should have called us beforehand."

"But we have neither."

"Therefore, this ’order’ you speak of is just a pretense."

"What are you really trying to do?"

Zheng Shoucheng said, his face cold.

"I just want to go in and take a look."

"Can’t I?"

Chen Qingdi said, his expression equally cold.

"No,"

Zheng Shoucheng said.

"Who do you think you are, waltzing in here whenever you please?"

As he spoke, Zheng Shoucheng glared at Chen Qingdi, his killing intent flaring.

Zheng Shoucheng’s gaze became incredibly grave.

"You’re here to cause trouble, aren’t you, kid?"

"And you’re not from the Luo Mansion at all."

"Brothers, kill this punk,"

Zheng Shoucheng ordered, his face a cold mask.

’So much for my plan to just make up a reason, trick them, and get inside to find Situ Xian’s son.’
