Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 200: Exterminating the Poisonous Insect

Chen Qingdi, however, was in no mood for such idle thoughts. His gaze was fixed on the pathological changes on Miss Luo's face.

Suddenly noticing she was struggling to suppress the affliction within her, he moved swiftly, inserting a needle into her Soul Gate, Po Gate, Yi She, Ting Palace, and Xin Hui acupoints.

These acupoints governed a person's consciousness and will. After the needles were inserted, Miss Luo's mind began to clear once more.

He noticed she had suddenly become fearful, and that this fear was directed at him.

Chen Qingdi secretly channeled his Inner Strength and commanded in a low, stern voice, "Guard your heart! Let neither gods nor demons near!"

His hands moved like lightning as he swiftly inserted several more needles into her back.

Her mind stabilized. Just then, Miss Luo began to thrash about.

Unflustered, Chen Qingdi grabbed some medicinal herbs and tossed them into the large vat. As they churned in the vinegar water, their medicinal properties slowly seeped into Miss Luo's body.

This continued for about twelve hours. Suddenly, Miss Luo said, "Young Master Chen, the water is too hot! I can't take it anymore. Can I get out?"

Chen Qingdi commanded in a low voice, "Guard your heart! Let neither gods nor demons near!"

After another six-plus hours, she truly couldn't bear it any longer. She stood up in the large vat and tried to climb out.

His face as cold as ice, Chen Qingdi forcefully pressed down on her shoulder, pushing her back into the large vat.

"Guard your heart! Don't let all our efforts be for naught!"

When Miss Luo had tried to jump out, a few of the handmaidens had turned pale with fright, terrified that Chen Qingdi might lose his composure and do something they would all regret for a lifetime.

On the surface, they were handmaidens, but in reality, they were all Miss Luo's bodyguards. They were not only responsible for assisting with Chen Qingdi's treatment but also for protecting Miss Luo's safety.

But they discovered that in Chen Qingdi's eyes, there was no distinction between man and woman. Whether beautiful or ugly, to him, she was simply a patient.

The women suddenly felt ashamed of their thoughts. All their doubts vanished, and they diligently followed Chen Qingdi's instructions, controlling the temperature of the vinegar water in the vat.

Since no one else could do Chen Qingdi's job, he had gritted his teeth and endured for the full seventy-two hours.

Just as the treatment was about to conclude, the lone flower suddenly grew larger, its petals spreading across her entire body.

Miss Luo suddenly spoke in a bewitching tone, "Young Master Chen, do you find me beautiful? You saved my life. Shall I repay you with myself?"

Chen Qingdi was completely unmoved. "Guard your heart! Cast out your inner demons!"

His voice carried the power of a Lion's Roar, backed by his Inner Strength. With just that one shout, Miss Luo's mind immediately returned to normal, and she suddenly felt ashamed of her recent actions.

Mustering the greatest mental effort of his life, Chen Qingdi sealed several more of her meridians, gradually forcing the poisonous insect toward her mouth and nose.

At that moment, the bewitching poison flower vanished. A moth-like poisonous insect crawled out of Miss Luo's nostril.

Chen Qingdi's eyes widened, his gaze completely focused on the poisonous insect. He saw it spread its wings, about to take flight.

His hand moved like lightning. A flash of silver light shot out, pinning the insect by its head to a nearby wall.

He then quickly produced a porcelain vial. Using a needle, he picked up the insect and placed it inside, then sealed the vial with a stopper and an outer layer of medicinal paste.

After the poisonous insect crawled out, Miss Luo seemed to have exhausted all her strength. She collapsed limply against the edge of the large vat.

Chen Qingdi quickly took out a medicinal pill and placed it in her mouth. He then instructed a young handmaiden to rinse her mouth and help her swallow the pill by breathing air into it.

Once all this was done, he instructed, "The poisonous insect has been removed from your young miss. You can extinguish the fire now. Bathe her, change her clothes, and move her to a sickroom to recuperate."

With that, he opened the door and walked out.

The Luo Family members saw that Chen Qingdi's clothes were perfectly neat, with no signs of having been undone, and only then did they breathe a sigh of relief.

They then noticed his utter exhaustion and asked with concern.

"Divine Physician, what's wrong?"

Chen Qingdi said, "I'm a bit tired right now. Find me a clean place to rest. Miss Luo's illness is cured. I will write you another prescription. Brew the medicine according to the instructions, and after half a month, the poison will be completely purged."

Overjoyed, Luo Tianfeng ordered his men to prepare a luxurious bedroom for Chen Qingdi to rest in.

Chen Qingdi slept soundly for a full twenty-four hours before finally waking up.

He awoke to find a beautiful young woman approaching him, her face filled with joy.

"Divine Physician, you're awake!"

Chen Qingdi didn't recognize her. "Who are you?"

The girl smiled shyly. "I am Ying Luo, Young Miss Luo Jia's personal handmaiden. I am here on the Patriarch's orders to attend to your daily needs, Divine Physician."

As she spoke, she took out a fresh set of inner and outer garments, intending to help Chen Qingdi get dressed.

Chen Qingdi blushed. "Miss Ying Luo, please wait outside. I can manage on my own."

Ying Luo giggled.

"Rumor has it the Young Master is quite the dashing romantic, blessed with no shortage of female admirers. Why are you being so shy?"

Chen Qingdi gave a wry smile but didn't offer any explanation.

Fortunately, Ying Luo didn't continue to tease him and retreated outside.

The suite had an adjoining bathroom. Chen Qingdi took a bath, changed into the undergarments Luo Jia had prepared for him, and put his own long robe on over them before finally stepping out.

Luo Tianfeng, Divine Physician Sima, and all the others were waiting outside. They were overjoyed to see him emerge and respectfully expressed their gratitude.

Chen Qingdi, however, dispensed with the pleasantries and spoke directly to Luo Tianfeng.

"How is Miss Luo?"

Luo Tianfeng was already filled with admiration. "Young Master, you are truly from Medical God Island! To so easily cure a strange illness that stumped even the most famous physicians... it's truly admirable!"

Chen Qingdi glanced around and noticed that the few doctors and experts who had previously found fault with him were nowhere to be seen.

He smiled. "As long as you follow my prescription for her recovery, Miss Luo's illness will be fully cured in half a month. I hope Patriarch Luo is a man of his word and will give me the Fire Dragon Pearl."

Patriarch Luo, who held him in the highest esteem and wished to curry his favor, did not hesitate. He readily presented him with the Fire Dragon Pearl, along with two other items Chen Qingdi had requested.

Chen Qingdi inspected the items and nodded.

"How is Sun the Hunchback now? I'd like to see him."

Luo Tianfeng advised, "The man is awake, but he refuses to speak. I have my best men watching him; he can't escape. Divine Physician, you should have a meal first."

The food at the Luo Mansion was superb, and even Divine Physician Sima and the others got to share in the good fortune.

After the meal, Chen Qingdi could wait no longer and followed Patriarch Luo into the dungeon where the prisoner was being held.

To guard Sun the Hunchback, Luo Tianfeng had even called upon several Grand Elders from the family's Elder Hall.

These men were all highly respected, fiercely loyal, and held the trust of two generations of the Luo Family Patriarchs.

When they saw Chen Qingdi enter, they all bowed respectfully and addressed him as Divine Physician Chen.
