Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 234: This Matter Must Be Resolved

"Cyan Emperor." Shen Mingyue had sobered up quite a bit by now and walked out of the private room. "I’m leaving with you."

"You’ve had too much to drink," Chen Qingdi said, looking at her. "I’ll take you home."

"I don’t want you to take me." Shen Mingyue threw her arms around him. "You’re my hero. You have to carry me home."

Inside Chen Qingdi’s room, the atmosphere was a little tense. He held Shen Mingyue tightly, a cup of hot water in his hand, his gaze revealing deep concern.

"Have some water. You probably need it," Chen Qingdi said softly.

Shen Mingyue looked up, her eyes a bit hazy. She gazed at Chen Qingdi, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Cyan Emperor, was I just drugged with a Sedative?"

Chen Qingdi was silent for a moment before nodding. "Yes. Zhang Zixuan slipped you a Sedative. You’re not thinking clearly right now."

Shen Mingyue’s expression changed. She began to feel a strange sensation in her body, a powerful urge that was becoming hard to control.

She looked at Chen Qingdi, her eyes filled with desire.

"Cyan Emperor, I want you..." Shen Mingyue’s breathing grew ragged.

Chen Qingdi’s heart skipped a beat, but he knew he couldn’t afford to be soft right now. He quickly sealed Shen Mingyue’s acupoints, then took out his silver needles and pricked her a few times.

"I’m sorry, but you need to purge the toxins now." Chen Qingdi’s voice was a little cold. He knew this would be painful for Shen Mingyue.

Shen Mingyue’s face grew even paler. She bit her lip hard, but finally couldn’t stop a pained sound from escaping.

Her body began to tremble, but Chen Qingdi didn’t let up. He knew the process would be excruciating.

After a while, Shen Mingyue’s body finally stopped shaking. Her face was even paler than before, but a glimmer of clarity had returned to her eyes.

"I... What just happened to me?" Shen Mingyue asked.

"You were drugged with Zhang Zixuan’s Sedative," Chen Qingdi’s voice was still somewhat cold.

Hearing this, Shen Mingyue erupted in fury. "That shameless, despicable bastard! To think he’d try to force himself on me using such methods!"

Chen Qingdi nodded. "I know. I’m not letting this go."

Shen Mingyue’s expression changed. "You’re going to find Zhang Zixuan?"

"Yes," Chen Qingdi’s voice was firm.

"Don’t go!" Shen Mingyue grabbed Chen Qingdi’s hand. "I’ll handle this."

Chen Qingdi looked at Shen Mingyue, a little hesitant. He knew she was much more clear-headed now, but she was still very weak. He didn’t want to agitate her in her current state.

"You should rest for now," Chen Qingdi said. "I’ll get some hot water and food ready for you."

Shen Mingyue didn’t speak, just quietly closed her eyes. Watching her, Chen Qingdi couldn’t help but worry.

He knew this incident had been a huge blow to Shen Mingyue, but he also knew the most important thing right now was for her to get some proper rest.

Chen Qingdi left the room, his heart filled with anger and worry.

He knew he had to go talk to Zhang Zixuan and make him understand the gravity of the situation. He didn’t want to see Shen Mingyue get hurt ever again.

Chen Qingdi stood at the door of a hotel room, took a deep breath, and pushed the door open to enter.

He saw Chen Yuan already sitting on the sofa in the private room, his arms crossed over his chest, as if he had been waiting for him.

"You’re here, Chen Yuan." Chen Qingdi breathed a sigh of relief when he saw him.

"Yes, I’m here." Chen Yuan stood up and looked at Chen Qingdi. "What happened? Why do you need me to protect Shen Mingyue?"

Chen Qingdi took a deep breath, sat down across from Chen Yuan, and told him everything that had happened from beginning to end.

When he mentioned Zhang Zixuan’s name, a flicker of confusion and vigilance crossed Chen Yuan’s eyes.

"So, you want me to stay here and protect Shen Mingyue while you go looking for trouble with Zhang Zixuan?" Chen Yuan asked after hearing Chen Qingdi’s account.

"Yes. You’re the only person I can trust. I have faith in your abilities; I know you can protect Shen Mingyue," Chen Qingdi said, looking at Chen Yuan.

Chen Yuan was silent for a moment, then said, "Go, and don’t worry. I’ll stay here and protect Shen Mingyue. Unless I’m dead, no one will be able to touch her."

Hearing this, a warm current flowed through Chen Qingdi’s heart.

He knew that Chen Yuan was a man of his word. Since he had made such a promise, he would do everything in his power to fulfill it.

So, with his mind at ease, he left the hotel to hunt down Zhang Zixuan.

Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was late at night. Chen Yuan sat on the sofa in the private room, his eyes filled with vigilance.

He had been posted there for two hours, never leaving Shen Mingyue’s room. He held a cup of hot tea, but his mind was elsewhere.

His thoughts were on Chen Qingdi—he hoped he would find Zhang Zixuan without a hitch and deal with him. He also wondered about Shen Mingyue’s condition, whether she was still sound asleep or had already woken up.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Chen Yuan immediately stood up, on alert, and went to open it.

A hotel attendant was standing at the door. He handed Chen Yuan a letter, saying someone had asked him to deliver it.

Chen Yuan took the letter, puzzled. After closing the door, he tore open the envelope. The contents made his expression change instantly, and a sense of unease washed over him.

He knew the letter’s contents were no empty threat; the danger was real.

It turned out that Zhang Zixuan’s men had already found out he was in the hotel protecting Shen Mingyue, and they were planning to retaliate against him.

A look of grim determination flashed in Chen Yuan’s eyes. He knew there was no turning back now. He had to protect Shen Mingyue while also facing the threat from Zhang Zixuan’s men.

He took a deep breath and dialed Chen Qingdi’s number.

"Big Brother, are you okay?" Chen Yuan asked over the phone.

"I’m fine. Things are going pretty smoothly. What about you? You sound like something’s wrong," Chen Qingdi asked immediately upon hearing Chen Yuan’s voice.

"Yeah, there’s something I need to tell you." Chen Yuan paused before continuing.

"Zhang Zixuan’s men have found out I’m here protecting Shen Mingyue. They’re planning to retaliate."

Chen Qingdi chuckled and said, "Don’t worry. Once I’m done with Zhang Zixuan, these small fry won’t be any real threat."

In a dark alley, Chen Qingdi stared coldly at Zhang Zixuan. His gaze was as sharp as a knife, as if it could pierce right through to Zhang Zixuan’s soul.

"Do you have any idea how much I hate it when people mess with my woman?" Chen Qingdi asked furiously, his voice echoing in the dark alley, radiating an invisible pressure.
