Peerless Perverted Actor Has a Celebrity Harem?!

Chapter 95: Golden Pen Royalty: Talent Essence

"So what you need from me is me to write for her..."

Ding!

The familiar chime went through Park’s skull.

A blue panel unfolded across his vision.

[New Mission Assigned.]

[Mission: Golden Pen Royalty.]

[Objective: Become designated individual CJ’s lifelong exclusive songwriter and composer without payment from CJ or NX Arc Entertainment. Arrangement must remain undisclosed to NX Arc.]

Park stared.

’What?’

[Deal Duration: Lifetime.]

His expression changed so sharply that MJ flinched.

"You’re kidding, right?"

Her face fell. "I know it’s a big ask, but..."

Park barely heard her, he was talking to the System.

’Lifelong songwriter? Is this machine fucking braindead?’

Writing somebody one song was generosity. Writing someone an album was a professional relationship. Becoming her songwriter for life was basically adopting a musician and making them your own child before you even lose your virginity yourself!

’And congratulations,Park... it’s a girl... please remember to feed her three verses and a chorus every six months.’

Yes, with his Peerless talent, Park could create songs absurdly fast now, but that did not mean he had become some charitable music fountain where the system could line female artists up carrying empty buckets.

Park liked helping people; he was generous at the heart if he pleased.

But he also neither Jesus nor stupid.

Even if MJ brought the most beautiful woman in the Empire around that corner, knelt her down, and had her ask him personally with tears shining in her eyes that could crystalize into pearls, Park would still have to respectfully inform Her Supreme Hotness that lifelong unpaid labor was not currently included in his plans.

[Mission Rewards...]

Park’s eyes narrowed.

’Go on bastard.’

[Immediate Reward 1(Upon Acceptance): Information.]

[Permanent Mission Reward 2: Talent Essence.]

[Reward Description: Golden Pen Royalty; Every qualifying song personally created by Host for individual CJ will generate a permanent System royalty equal to 10% of the song’s verified gross music revenue.]

Park stopped breathing for a second.

Ten percent of the song’s gross.

A song’s gross is basically the total money the song earns before anyone takes their cut or expenses are deducted.

So if a song makes:

1,000,000 Cels gross:

...that meant the song generated 1,000,000 Cels altogether from things like streaming, downloads, physical sales, licensing, performances, and other commercial uses before the label, distributors, platforms, producers, taxes, and everyone else gets paid.

[Qualifying revenue includes streaming, physical sales, digital purchases, performance rights, synchronization licensing, authorized covers, commercial licensing, and other verified music-generated revenue.]

’Oh.’

[System royalty remains active for the commercial lifetime of every qualifying song.]

’Oh, you beautiful bastard.’

Numbers started firing through Park’s head.

It meant the System will keep paying Park that royalty for as long as the song continues making commercial money; so if a qualifying song earns money this year, five years from now, or thirty years from now, Park still gets his System royalty from those earnings.

If the song stops earning anything, there’s nothing to pay.

But if it suddenly becomes popular again years later because of a movie, viral trend, cover, rerelease, advertisement, or whatever, the System royalty starts generating money from those new earnings too.

In simpler wording the system was saying:

[System royalty remains active for as long as every qualifying song continues earning money.]

Suppose he gave CJ one song.

Just one and that song grossed five million Cels.

Ten percent was 500,000 Cels.

His.

Not five hundred thousand in industry accounting where fourteen managers, three lawyers, a producer, a publisher, the label, somebody’s cousin, and a suspicious man named Steve all reached into the bowl before Park got his spoon.

System money... half a million Cels from one song.

Now make it twenty successful songs:

’Ten fuckin’ million Cels.’

And that was before considering any of those songs became genuine monster hits, before international streaming, licensing, films, advertisements, covers, anniversary re-releases, physical collector editions, or whatever other ways the entertainment industry had invented to milk beloved music until its skeleton asked for legal representation.

Songs could earn for decades.

Park could be sleeping with his harem at forty (still looking good as ever by the way) while something he wrote at nineteen quietly deposited another mountain of money into his account because some perfume company in another kingdom decided an old CJ ballad would sound sexy underneath slow-motion glass bottles.

His own money too.

Not Bennett money from Alexander’s card or inheritance.

His.

Park’s smile slowly began to appear.

The System was not finished:

[Talent Essence: Host will additionally receive annual Talent Essence based on verified performance of qualifying songs.]

[NB: Talent Essence can be used into learned or dormant non-System talents and practical skills. Examples include combat skills, IT, programming, languages, culinary ability, driving, instrument mastery, dance disciplines, academic fields, craftsmanship, business competencies, and additional learnable skills.

BUT: Talent Essence cannot directly increase Host Attributes, System Abilities, or Traits... However, improved external skill proficiency may indirectly improve compatible abilities, attributes, and trait effectiveness.]

Park forgot MJ existed for several seconds.

Talent Essence.

So the System was basically offering him something money could never directly buy.

Time...

That was what it really was.

Every skill normal people spent years learning, every field requiring thousands of hours of frustration, repetition, failure, correction, muscle memory, books, teachers, practice...

Park could potentially accelerate them.

Combat, coding, languages, instruments and something stupid as dancing.

’Okay it’s not that stupid.’

Whatever else the System considered learnable... and every song he wrote for this CJ became another little engine feeding that pool while also vomiting money at him for potentially decades.

The words write for free on the mission panel suddenly looked deeply dishonest.

Park stared at them.

’For free, my ass.’

NX Arc could offer songwriter fees, publishing percentages, advances, royalties, bonuses, all the normal industry goodies but the System was offering him ten percent of verified gross revenue forever plus a supernatural currency capable of buying pieces of human mastery.

This was not free.

This was employment by God with suspicious paperwork.

Park’s mouth slowly curled upward.

"You know, System," he murmured internally, "I would’ve done it for free without the sweet rewards."

No, he fucking would not have.

The System knew, Park knew and God above knew it too; maybe even the bumper that killed him probably knew.

But dignity required lying occasionally.

There was a lot here he needed to think about later, including exactly how Talent Essence converted, what qualified as a skill, how expensive advanced proficiency became, and whether the System had just quietly handed him one of the most abusable rewards he had encountered so far.

’Later.’

Right now, there was a beautiful woman standing nervously in front of him.

And apparently another beautiful woman somewhere nearby waiting for judgment.

[Accept Mission: Golden Pen Royalty?]

[YES / NO]

Park selected YES.

[Mission Accepted.]

[Immediate Information Reward... transferring information...]

Knowledge began pressing toward his mind but Park shut the panel before he could properly examine any of it.

’Later.’

MJ was staring at him now, increasingly worried because from her perspective she had asked him for help and Park had apparently spent the last thirty seconds cycling through shock, outrage, greed, enlightenment, and the grin of a man who had just discovered buried treasure behind her head.

He looked at her.

"So."

MJ straightened.

Park slipped his hands into his pockets, smile easy again.

"Show me the way to her."

Her lips parted.

"Really?"

"Yes, MJ." His grin widened. "Let’s see if your sister is actually as good as you say."

For one second, MJ simply stared at him.

Then her entire face lit up.

"Park!"

And she ran straight toward him—
