Though they had never met before, neither Qin Xian nor the Void Empress felt the slightest sense of unfamiliarity. As their eyes met, the Empress gazed quietly at her son, absorbing the calm stability of his presence.

Only then did the longing she had harbored for so many eras begin to ease. She leaned close, gently pressing her forehead against his, whispering in a voice as soft as starlight,

“We are bound by blood…”

“We were always one and the same…”

The two embraced in silence, and only after a long, wordless moment did they slowly part. Behind the Empress, one Void Lord after another—each with an aura terrifying enough to make space itself shiver—knelt in unison.

Their faces were filled with reverence and awe as they called out, “Your Highness, Crown Prince…”

While the other Sovereign Courts also had many princes, the difference between them and the First Sovereign Court’s heir was vast. In those other courts, even among children of Void Overlords, few could be considered true successors.

In fact, most of those princes barely maintained any relationship with their progenitor. For the emotionless Void Overlords, their offspring held little more value than tools or slightly elevated minions.

Qin Xian, however, was different.

He was the only heir of the Void Empress. That fact alone elevated his status far above any other royal bloodline.

More importantly, every Void Lord present had seen with their own eyes just how deeply the Empress cared for him. Long before Qin Xian ever returned to the Void Realm, the Empress had already begun gathering World Origins in preparation for his future.

Entire civilizations had been annihilated for the cause. She had even constructed a Void Crucible to refine those Origins—a process that required sacrificing part of the Void Realm’s own source essence, provoking dissatisfaction from the other Courts.

Her affection for Qin Xian was not merely love. It was indulgence taken to the extreme.

Such devotion was unheard of among Void Overlords, whose nature was typically devoid of all sentiment. But none dared speak against it.

After all, they all remembered what happened to Fallen Saint Heloise—once a favored retainer of the Empress who had led the conquest of many worlds for the First Court.

One misstep, one careless remark lacking due reverence toward Qin Xian, and she had been executed on the spot within the Empress’s palace.

So when Qin Xian returned, every Void Lord present knelt without hesitation. They understood perfectly—from this moment on, the First Sovereign Court had another master.

A voice rang out, humble and fervent. “Your Highness, I, Arwyn, offer you my soul and loyalty.”

It was the Calamity Witch Arwyn, her face solemn with awe as she bowed deeply before him.

Qin Xian looked at her and smiled faintly. “Arwyn… I remember you. In the human world, it was through you that I first connected with the Void.”

For as long as the Qin Clan had existed, they had maintained secret ties with the Void. Arwyn had been the agent of that connection.

Beyond bringing calamity to worlds, her powers allowed her to shift her essence, conceal her presence, and even project her will into human Void cultists.

Much of Qin Xian’s early understanding of the Void had come through her. In many ways, she was one of his few “familiar faces” here.

Upon hearing Qin Xian’s words, Arwyn’s expression lit with ecstatic joy. She bowed again, deeper than before, her heart overwhelmed. In her mind, gaining the favor of the Crown Prince surpassed even that of the Empress herself.

Qin Xian looked down at the kneeling Arwyn—her form elegant, her posture perfect—and said, “During my return to the Void, you will serve as my attendant officer.”

Around them, other Void Lords exchanged envious glances. Though Arwyn had once been a favored servant of the Empress, her status within the First Court had never been particularly high.

But now, with this new position beside Qin Xian, her standing would rise rapidly. If she could hold that role, she would become an irreplaceable figure in the Court’s power structure.

Despite it being his first return to the Void, Qin Xian naturally carried himself as though he were born to command.

He issued orders with the easy confidence of a ruler. And the Void Empress? She simply watched with a soft smile, eyes full of pride.

Had anyone else dared act so presumptuously, they would have been instantly annihilated. But Qin Xian’s every word only deepened her indulgent joy. In her eyes, everything she possessed—including the First Court, even the entire universe—belonged to him.

Soon, the Void Empress and Qin Xian, flanked by their Void Lord retinue, began their grand return to the First Sovereign Court. And word of the Empress’s heir returning spread like wildfire through the Void Realm, echoing across all Seven Sovereign Courts.

Now, they all knew: the Crown Prince of the First Court had returned. And more than that—he was a Void Overlord.

Even as a newly emerged, infant-stage Overlord, his existence alone could shift the balance of power.

The Seven Courts finally understood why the Empress had delayed the Feast of Annihilation for so many years.

She had been waiting for him.

After all, the Feast of Annihilation contained unimaginable power. For an infant Void Overlord, it would be the ultimate crucible—a once-in-an-era opportunity to ascend.
