Deep within the First Sovereign Court, the Void Pool shimmered like a bottomless chasm of cosmic energy.
Qin Xian stood before it, eyes locked onto the roiling essence surging within.
The power it radiated was immense—overwhelming even—and within that power, he sensed something that made his blood stir: the unmistakable presence of World Origins. Not just one, but three.
As a Void Overlord, there was no resisting such a lure. The Seven Sovereign Courts of the Void had long waged war upon the myriad civilizations of the cosmos for one reason alone: to consume the essence of worlds. To devour their Laws. To grow stronger.
Standing beside him in silent reverence was Tifani, the Witch of Calamity. Like Alrwynn, she bore the same title, but the resemblance ended there. Tifani had once been a goddess in a thriving mortal world.
Her powers were tied to blessings and fortune—until the Void Empress descended upon her world.
Now, enslaved and corrupted, she stood as guardian of the Void Pool, her gifts turned to ruin. Where once she granted miracles, she now wrought calamity.
“Your Highness,” Tifani said softly, lowering her head, “this is the Void Pool Her Majesty prepared for you. It contains the decomposed Origins of three worlds. The purest source of Law.”
Qin Xian’s calm mask cracked into genuine excitement. “Thank you, Mother.”
Even his well-honed composure couldn’t contain the thrill of standing before raw World Origin.
The Void Empress, standing not far behind, gazed upon him with indulgent affection. Her voice was low, and laced with pride. “My child, never thank me. I’ve told you before… our blood is one. We are one.”
Her eyes shimmered with terrifying serenity. “One day, the entire universe will belong to us.”
Qin Xian stepped forward.
The instant his body entered the Void Pool, the energies began to boil. Law surged in waves, wrapping around him, flowing through him, flooding into his very soul.
For any other being—even a Void Lord—such an act would have been suicidal. Their bodies would be torn apart, reduced to essence and absorbed into the Origin itself. But Qin Xian was a Void Overlord. This power was his birthright.
As he sank deeper into the pool, his aura expanded. His breath, his presence, his very existence began to shift. Strength poured into him.
The Empress watched in satisfaction. This pool had not been easy to prepare—those three World Origins had come from prosperous, well-guarded civilizations. But their loss would fuel her son’s growth.
Once he absorbed it all, he would be ready for the World-End Banquet.
She would personally teach him how to wield the full might of his bloodline. Eventually, he would lead a Void army to extinguish a living world and claim its Origin with his own hands.
Her gaze lingered on Qin Xian, now fully immersed, his body radiating threads of Law as he closed his eyes and focused inward. Then, without a word, she turned to Tifani—her coldness returning like a switch flipped.
“Guard the prince. If anyone disturbs him… you know what will happen.” Her words were as frigid as the eternal abyss that surrounded her. Tifani dropped to her knees in a single breath, trembling.
“I will protect His Highness with my life… My Lady.”
The Void Empress nodded faintly and vanished.
As the Supreme of the First Sovereign Court, she had countless matters to attend to. Chief among them—the preparations for the World-End Banquet.
Days passed.
Qin Xian remained submerged within the Void Pool, his body and soul quietly undergoing a terrifying transformation. All throughout the Court, invisible tremors spread. Whispers passed from one ancient being to another.
The entire First Sovereign Court watched every movement he made.
Though the Void was not ruled by the same politics and machinations that plagued humanity, it still held its own brutal hierarchy and logic. And now, all of them had heard the same thing: the little prince required a Void Lord for his advancement.
And many… had already begun to make their move.
To offer a Void Lord to the Empress’s son, even as prey, was a small price in exchange for her favor.
Within the Void Pool, power surged with such intensity that even Qin Xian began to feel pressure building.
His aura grew denser, darker, more vast. His system interface, refined and digitized by the Arcane Source, displayed dozens of newly acquired buffs—many of them unheard of even among Legendary-tier entities. His level soared.
Several times, the Void Empress returned to check on him, her gaze softening as she found her son in perfect control, devouring power beyond her expectations.
By her estimate, he should’ve required multiple sessions to absorb even a portion of the Void Pool’s energy.
But she hadn’t stepped out and saw that his rate of absorption far exceeded anything she had ever seen.
He was no ordinary Void Overlord. The digitized evolution, fused with Void blood, had made him something even she could not fully define.
Her voice, when it came again, was low… and pleased, “Sending you to the human world… perhaps it was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
She smiled faintly, eyes flickering with both maternal affection and a trace of awe.
“Even I feel fear. And you… are the reason why.”
