Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change
Chapter 245: The Duplication ExperimentAs the doors parted and Delku stepped inside, he was instantly enveloped by a strange and unsettling realm.
This inner dimension radiated an oppressive, chilling aura. Deep blue flames of the Void curled across every inch of the space like sentient tendrils, casting flickering shadows along the walls of nothingness.
And at the heart of it all stood Qin Xian—his entire form wreathed in those same Void flames, a living beacon of deathly stillness. The atmosphere around him seemed heavy, almost suffocating, drenched in silence and decay.
Delku’s pupils contracted faintly.
In that instant, he realized something unsettling—he was afraid.
The young prince’s growth… it was far beyond terrifying.
He had been there on the day Qin Xian returned to the Void. Back then, though undeniably extraordinary, the prince had not made Delku feel threatened.
There had been no pressure—just curiosity. But now, only a few months later, that very same prince stood before him radiating a presence so immense, so consuming, that even a being like Delku, who had walked across epochs, felt a prickle of fear crawling down his spine.
The aura swirling around Qin Xian was familiar… too familiar.
He truly is Her Majesty’s heir…
Delku—the monster whom others feared to even speak of—now dropped to one knee, his voice filled with reverence as he bowed. “Your Highness…”
Qin Xian stepped forward slowly, his voice echoing from the depths of the deathly void around him. “Delku… I hear you’ve served my mother faithfully, for billions of years.”
Delku lowered his head further. “It has been my greatest honor, my prince. I shall continue to serve Her Majesty—and you—with every fiber of my being.”
Qin Xian’s figure emerged from the shrouded haze, now standing before Delku. He extended a hand, smiling lightly. “Of course, I do not doubt your loyalty, Delku. But I am… curious. I heard you’ve feasted on Void Lords before?”
There was no custom of handshaking among Void beings, but Delku had studied humanity for millennia. He understood the gesture.
He quickly reached out and gripped Qin Xian’s hand, heart racing with cautious excitement.
The prince honors me personally…?!
Delku had survived countless internal upheavals within the First Court. He knew all too well: being favored by the Empress was not enough to ensure survival. She was merciless—capricious.
Her fury could ignite at the smallest of slights. The Fallen Saint Heloysse was but one of many executed on a whim.
But the prince… if one earned his favor, even the Empress might pause before passing judgment.
Delku’s voice was steady. “Indeed, I have devoured several Void Lords—those who disrespected the First Court. They were enemies by their own choosing.”
He spoke of it casually, as though swallowing beings of immense power were just part of the job. And to him, perhaps, it was. Delku had long since surpassed the standard metrics of Void Lord strength—he stood among the apex entities of the cosmos.
“Is that so…” Qin Xian murmured, his tone still mild.
Then, without warning, he withdrew his hand.
His expression didn’t shift dramatically—he still wore that calm smile—but the warmth in his demeanor vanished. A sudden chill replaced it.
“You may go now, Delku.”
The sudden dismissal was jarring.
Delku froze momentarily, unsure what had caused the shift, but he dared not question it. He bowed deeply, voice low. “As you command, Your Highness.”
He turned and left in silence, his heart now trembling with a deeper reverence.
Unpredictable. Cold. Detached… Yes, just like Her Majesty. Truly her son…
—
Once Delku had departed, silence returned.
Qin Xian stood alone in the dim chamber, his gaze contemplative. He hadn’t summoned Delku for idle chatter.
He had a theory to test—an experiment involving his Talent Duplication. Could it… copy the abilities of a Void Lord?
Technically, the Void did not adhere to the data-based structure of the human world. There were no formal “classes” among its denizens.
But Qin Xian had been transformed by the system. And so, he tested the edge of possibility.
The results were… spectacular.
His system interface flickered with newly acquired skills, their descriptions scrolling across his vision like arcane code.
– [Omen’s Harbinger]: Curse the target. Their highest and lowest attributes are inverted. Critical hit and evasion chance are reduced to 0. The curse is contagious. Duration: 24 hours. Cooldown: 20 minutes.
– [Fear Implantation]: Plant pure fear in the enemy’s mind, reducing their mental resistance by 100%. Induces a terror state.
– [Shadow Avatar]: Summon up to 3 avatars of yourself. Each inherits 80% of your total stats.
– [Shadow Prison]: Trap a target within a shadow dimension. If they fail to escape within 30 seconds, they are eternally bound within it—enslaved.
Qin Xian’s smile returned—but now, it carried the weight of something darker.
So it works…I can even duplicate the power of a Void Lord.
