The seven Sovereign Courts of the Void wielded the greatest strength known in the universe—not merely due to their endless legions or those apocalyptic Void Lords who marched at the front, but because, in the process of invading and annihilating countless worlds, the Void absorbed every ounce of knowledge it found: technology, sorcery, and every discipline in between.

To the Void, there was no boundary between science and magic.

The mounts of the Void Overlords—some starships, others arcane constructs—were more than just vessels. They were mobile fortresses, war citadels in their own right, each one capable of turning the tide in a war of gods. As the World’s End Banquet approached, the arrival of these great overlords began.

First came the Plague Lord of the Second Court, then the Blood Tyrant of the Third, followed by Tzeentch of the Fourth, the Lord of Greed, and finally the Decadent Prince of the Sixth. One after another, these terrifying entities gathered above the abyss where the Banquet would be held.

Their overwhelming forms towered in the heavens, drawing in the darkest and most twisted powers of the cosmos.

Six had arrived. The only one yet to appear was the Empress of Eternal Abyss.

None of the others spoke.

The Sovereign Courts had never been close—at best rivals, at worst, eternal enemies. Clashes over the control of corrupted worlds often led to war even between fellow Void Overlords.

A voice broke the silence.

“So, Khorne… I heard one of your children was killed by the little prince of the First Court?”

The voice was rasping and low, slippery like a whisper coiled in fog. At the peak of the void’s sky, a figure wrapped in ever-shifting mist appeared. No one could see clearly through the haze, which flickered with temptation and change, its form forever unstable.

This was Tzeentch, the True Lord of the Fourth Court.

Tzeentch was infamous among the Void’s chaotic gods—schemer, liar, bringer of false hope and twisted knowledge. In all the Void, no one had more plans, more plots, or more masks than Tzeentch.

Sometimes on a throne, sometimes vanished without a trace—he moved unseen through endless schemes, and no one had ever uncovered what he truly sought.

Across many mortal worlds, Tzeentch’s cults were the most widespread—and the most deeply hidden.

There had once been a realm where its strongest god united neighboring planes to resist the Void. But when their champions gathered, the Void struck—killing all. That leading god had already fallen to Tzeentch thousands of years ago.

Khorne stood wreathed in fire, his flesh aflame and his expression calm. “Just a failure,” he said flatly. “He died, so what? You want me to go to war with the First Court over it?”

Tzeentch’s chuckle echoed through the void, curling like smoke. “Of course not. I’m just thinking—that little prince, he’s a Void Overlord now, isn’t he? And growing so very quickly. In a century, he may reach our level. The First Court will have two Overlords. Perhaps it’s time we all served beneath the Void Empress?”

The comment rippled through the gathered lords.

They knew what Tzeentch was doing—planting seeds of dissent. But they also knew… he wasn’t wrong.

Until now, the balance among the Seven Courts had been tenuous but stable. Even though the Empress was known as the strongest among them, the others still stood on equal footing—each a terrifying power in their own right.

But Qin Xian changed that.

A second Void Overlord in the First Court would tip the scales. Once matured, he would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the greatest of them—and with the Empress behind him, the First Court would hold dominance over all others.

It was still early. Qin Xian had only just returned, his growth barely begun. And yet, his speed… even the other Courts had underestimated it.

Seeing their silence, Tzeentch chuckled softly from within his mist. He said no more. The effect had already been achieved.

Then the air shook.

A sound like the groaning of the cosmos rang out as something vast moved through the dark. Every Void creature shuddered, overcome with a sense of death and silence so heavy it pressed against their minds.

A colossal starship descended—huge beyond comprehension, trailing withering stillness in its wake.

The First Court had arrived.

All around the void, countless Void creatures fell to their knees, overcome by the crushing weight of bloodline suppression.

The other Overlords stood silent, watching, each bearing their own expression. Even Tzeentch’s formless figure flickered in the fog, its aura dimming slightly as if uncertain.

Such was the might of the Empress of Eternal Abyss.

But no one looked at her for long. All their gazes drifted to the figure beside her.

Qin Xian.

The First Court’s prince. The Empress’s only child. And the eighth Void Overlord… the one who might reshape the Void itself.
