Though Qin Xian had made tremendous progress within the First Court, his growth shocking even the Empress of Stillness herself, he was still young. His Class Awakening had occurred less than three years ago.
Compared to other Void Overlords—let alone seasoned Void Lords like Delkuth—he had a long way to go. It was for this reason that, even as he stepped into the Feast of Endings, he remained under his mother’s protection.
By contrast, Alwyn, the so-called Witch of Calamity, wore an expression of almost giddy excitement. Though she was counted among the Empress’s favored retainers, her standing within the First Court had never been particularly high. In all previous Feasts, she hadn’t even been eligible to attend. But things were different now.
Since becoming Qin Xian’s personal attendant, her status had skyrocketed.
It wasn’t just Delkuth—the Court’s fearsome steward—who now treated her with warmth. Even other elite Void Lords had begun to show her deference.
After all, Qin Xian had only recently returned to the Void, unfamiliar with its customs, lacking any longstanding allies. And Alwyn… was the closest thing he had to family within the Court.
She had been his link between the human world and the Void. A guide. An informant. A confidant.
Naturally, Qin Xian had come to trust her deeply.
Over the days spent in the First Court, Alwyn had barely left his side. Not only did she serve him personally, she also took it upon herself to tutor him—explaining the hierarchy of the Sovereign Courts, detailing the strengths and weaknesses of each Overlord, and even performing… other forms of service.
Qin Xian had not refused her.
He was no ascetic sage. Alwyn’s appearance was breathtaking, and by human standards, she was perfection incarnate. It was only natural.
And when Qin Xian had asked for Alwyn to accompany him to the Feast, the Empress of Eternal Abyss had agreed without hesitation—even if she personally disdained the woman’s overt devotion.
In her eyes, Alwyn was nothing but a gnat. One she could crush without a second thought. But if her son requested it, she would not object.
The black hole at the center of the Feast was no ordinary stellar phenomenon. It wasn’t a collapsed star—but a condensed energy construct. Its gravity was so intense, it bent space, devoured light, and dragged entire realities into its spiraling maw. It was a monument to destruction.
And even from a distance, it was awe-inspiring.
But now… they were stepping into it.
Beneath their feet stretched a surface formed of fragmented continents—the ruins of dead worlds. Some were dotted with shattered citadels. Others held the wreckage of steel-clad megacities. Still others contained the remnants of crumbling temples, once sacred, now desecrated.
Each continent had once been a realm of life. Now, all that remained was dust and despair. It was a testament to just how many worlds the Void had consumed.
“You’ll destroy one of your own someday,” the Empress said softly, her voice smooth as silk. She glanced sideways at her son, a smile playing at her lips.
Qin Xian’s eyes gleamed. “I look forward to that day, Mother.”
He was born of the human world. He had once been one of them. And yet, as he looked upon the remnants of those broken civilizations, he felt nothing. No pity. No kinship.
He didn’t see tragedy.
He saw opportunity.
Powe..
Weakness, in his eyes, was sin. And deep within him, his Void blood stirred. The thrill of domination, of annihilation—it called to him like a drumbeat echoing through his soul. Each Void Overlord craved world destruction. It wasn’t a goal. It was a genetic truth.
And the Empress knew it. She smiled—pleased. Watching her cub sharpen his fangs.
“You’ll stay here for the full duration,” she said. “The Feast will last a month. Within that time, absorb what you can. These ruins are rich with energy—origin fragments, condensed emotion, collapsing laws of reality. It’s all yours to claim.”
Qin Xian nodded, breathing deeply.
To his eyes—data-driven, precise—this place was a paradise. Every particle of energy around him shimmered like a mountain of experience points. Attribute values, passive boosts, and world-core fragments… all ripe for the taking.
He sat down without hesitation and then his body began to glow.
He transformed into a vortex—a black hole in human form—and began devouring the ambient power that blanketed the Feast’s ruins. Like a monster born of the void, he inhaled the despair of shattered realms, refining it into strength.
The Empress watched with quiet pride.
To her, every moment of the Feast’s delay had been worth it. She had risked the ire of all six other Courts just to wait for her son’s return. And now… it was paying off.
This single month would save him centuries of struggle. And when the month was over, the Void would seeHer son was not just another Sovereign.
He was the future.
