The Void Empress immediately understood Qin Xian’s expression. Although she doted on him immensely, she also knew that Goethe was currently overwhelmed by his desire to fight. Having just evolved into a Void Lord, he was now driven by instinct—a stage all void believers had to endure. After all, void believers were not true void beings by nature.
They were simply mortals who had accepted the divine power of the void. In a sense, they were nothing more than slaves of the Overlords. Only upon becoming a Void Lord would they truly transform into genuine void entities.
This moment marked Goethe’s transition from a civilized race to a void species, and his soul was at its most chaotic.
As a Chosen Champion of the Slaughter Overlord, Goethe’s instincts were rooted in battle. Challenging and defeating the strong was the very thing the Slaughter Overlord admired most.
So it was no surprise that Goethe, under the sway of his instincts, challenged Qin Xian. Since Qin Xian showed interest in accepting that challenge, the Void Empress had no reason to stop him.
She was also curious to see how far Qin Xian had come after his two rapid growth spurts. In any case, there was no real threat—no one could so much as scratch Qin Xian in her presence.
[Chaos Demonblade] Goethe had fallen completely into madness.
In front of him, the power of chaos condensed into the form of a colossal phantom sword. The blade coiled with violent chaotic energy, and each swing seemed to tear the fabric of space itself.
It had no physical form, but was far more dangerous than any tangible weapon. It was chaos incarnate, a harbinger of annihilation. This blade was Goethe’s manifested ability after becoming a Void Lord—World-End Demonblade.
“Destruction!” Goethe howled hoarsely, and the World-End Demonblade came crashing down toward Qin Xian.
A wave of terrifying power exploded, chaotic energy surging like a tsunami. Qin Xian watched quietly. As someone who had just become a Void Lord, Goethe’s strength was easily measurable. It was roughly equivalent to Level 75 by human standards.
As the World-End Demonblade hurtled toward him, Qin Xian calmly raised his hand. Energy gathered in the void, forming swirling black holes that absorbed the incoming attack completely. In the next instant, a massive shadow emerged beneath
Qin Xian’s feet. It spread outward, engulfing Goethe’s enormous frame. The shadow seemed to morph into an underworld domain, stretching out countless tendrils that turned into chains and bound Goethe tightly.
Goethe roared furiously, recalling his World-End Demonblade in an attempt to sever the chains. But the tendrils were endless, endlessly pulling at his body and dragging him deeper into the darkness. In the end, Goethe vanished completely.
“Shadow Prison?” The First Royal Court’s steward, Delkru, wore an expression of utter astonishment.
The ability Qin Xian had just used was his signature move—Shadow Prison. And from the looks of it, Qin Xian’s version was even stronger and more terrifying than his own. Not only Delkru, but Alwen and the other Void Lords of the First Royal Court, and even the surrounding void powerhouses, were all left visibly shaken.
When Qin Xian had first returned to the void, his power level was comparable to that of a high-ranking Void Marshal. Goethe, though not one of the strongest Void Lords, was still a Void Lord nonetheless.
As a Bloodrage Chosen of the Third Royal Court, he bore the blessings of the Bloodrage Overlord. Even with the pressure of a Void Overlord’s bloodline, he should not have been so easily overpowered. And yet, Goethe had been one-shot by Qin Xian.
That Qin Xian could do such a thing as a Void Overlord’s descendant wasn’t entirely surprising. But his rate of growth stunned everyone. Even the Void Empress looked upon Qin Xian with gleaming eyes full of delight.
He had not disappointed her. Originally, she had assumed that defeating Goethe would at least take Qin Xian some time. While she viewed Goethe as little more than an insect, she also understood that heroes from other worlds who had become corrupted and evolved into void believers were incredibly powerful.
Once they ascended to the rank of Void Lord, they often became the backbone of their respective royal courts. Some even went on to become chaotic evil gods, existing outside the authority of the Seven Royal Courts.
And yet, Qin Xian had slain Goethe instantly—and used Shadow Prison to do it. The Void Empress didn’t know where Qin Xian had learned such a skill, but since he hadn’t mentioned it, she didn’t pry.
It was perfectly natural for her child to have some secrets. Though she treasured Qin Xian deeply, she had no intention of controlling every part of his life. His potential was far greater than she had ever imagined.
All she needed to do was shield him and let him grow freely—until he became the one being in the universe capable of standing beside her, or even surpassing her. In her eyes, there was only Qin Xian.
As Goethe vanished completely into the depths of the Shadow Prison, Qin Xian slightly furrowed his brow. Goethe had been far too weak. Qin Xian needed a more accurate assessment of his true combat power.
Instantly defeating Goethe only confirmed that his current strength had already far surpassed the Level 75 threshold. But to take control of the Divine Revelation Terminal and kill the Emperor, he would need strength equivalent to at least Level 90. He still hadn’t reached that level—there was still a long way to go.
