Qin Xian smiled faintly.
In the next moment, six radiant wings of light unfurled behind him, enveloping him in holy brilliance, making him appear like a true archangel.
His Archangel’s Scepter had already been upgraded to level 3. Its transformation duration, once limited to twenty minutes, was now unrestricted, allowing him to stay in his transformed state indefinitely.
Even its cooldown had been reduced from twenty-four hours to just two. The sheer power gained from this blessing was overwhelming.
Lia looked at him with stars in her eyes, clearly captivated by his presence. The other members of the Windsor Family were also visibly shocked. Anthony and Catherine exchanged glances, as if they’d just witnessed the descent of a divine being.
Especially Anthony—he became increasingly convinced that Qin Xian was no ordinary knight. While the Hydra World had many holy knights, none at Qin Xian’s age had ever displayed power of this magnitude. The divine aura he radiated, the pureness of his light, everything about him pointed to a connection with a god.
What’s more, Qin Xian’s earlier attitude toward the Saint-Spear Family only further reinforced this theory. Hydra was a world that did acknowledge deities, though not its own creators. These gods had once descended upon the world and bestowed their blessings.
For instance, knights of the Holy Light followed the power of light itself and worshipped the deity known as “Gael, the Angel Without Suffering.” Only those truly devout and righteous could wield the Holy Light’s power. However, after the Void invaded, those gods refused to oppose the threat and simply abandoned Hydra, leaving only remnants of their presence behind.
With the blessing ritual complete, the group exited the Source Realm. But as they did, a terrifying wave of draconic pressure swept toward them from the distance, sending chills through everyone.
“This aura…” Anthony’s face darkened. “The Saint-Spear Family… They’re here already?”
He knew full well that Zahl’s death would draw the ire of the Saint-Spear Family, but he hadn’t expected them to move this quickly.
The distance from Dragon Island to the Windsor Domain was at least ten thousand miles, yet in less than a day, they had already come to demand justice. While Qin Xian had confidently declared he would bear full responsibility and showed no fear toward the Saint-Spear Family,
Anthony couldn’t help but worry. He had already contacted the Hero Rosha, hoping that Rosha might help mediate the conflict—but who knew when Rosha would arrive?
Soon, a massive black dragon descended upon the skies above Windsor’s territory, its sheer presence casting a long shadow over the land.
Behind it came several more majestic dragons, each ridden by a Dragon Knight from the Saint-Spear Family. Leading them was none other than Edward, one of the five Dragon Knight Commanders—and Zahl’s father.
“Anthony! Where is Zahl!?” Edward’s voice boomed from atop the dragon, his face dark and full of fury as he glared down at the Windsor Patriarch.
Anthony sighed and summoned Zahl’s corpse with a space spell. It appeared before everyone, laid beside the shattered bones of the Frost Dragon, Ice Mane.
Though Edward had already suspected the truth, the moment he laid eyes on his son’s body, grief overtook him. He leapt from the dragon and collapsed beside Zahl, overcome with sorrow. The other dragons roared in outrage, their fury echoing across the skies.
Many members of the Windsor Family couldn’t help but shift uneasily. After a long moment, Edward stood, his expression twisted with wrath.
“Anthony! I want an explanation! How did Zahl die!?”
Lia, sensing the shift in tension, instinctively reached for Qin Xian, trying to lead him away. But Qin Xian merely smiled and said calmly, “I killed him.”
“You!?” Edward’s gaze locked onto him, eyes brimming with murderous intent. “Who are you?”
“Name’s Soren,” Qin Xian replied with the same calm and gentle smile he always wore.
The Windsor Family members looked at each other, expressions frozen. They’d seen that smile many times before—once, it had struck them as humble and kind. But now, in this context, that same expression felt openly provocative and unbearably arrogant.
“As for why I killed Zahl, the reason is simple. He sought death. He dared to offend me and my family. He was brave, but the price for that bravery was death.”
Edward was utterly enraged. Qin Xian’s words were absurdly domineering. Normally, this kind of rhetoric came from the Saint-Spear Family themselves—but now, someone else had thrown it right back at them, and Edward couldn’t bear it.
Anthony could only smile bitterly in silence. He had originally thought this Soren to be a polite, modest young man, but now he realized that behind that serene demeanor was a pride and arrogance that might even surpass the Saint-Spear Family’s own.
And that only made Anthony more certain—this man must have divine backing. Otherwise, how else could he show such blatant disregard for even the mighty Saint-Spear Family?
