Pirate Kingship
Chapter 1268 - 616: Consecutive Reversals! Byron: Be My Son (Monthly Ticket Request 6800)_4The master of the Desert God System thus became the Divine King Anu!
The Creation Nine Pillars’ rate of corrosion against the [Anka Holy Symbol] and the Divine King plummeted sharply, even showing signs of coming to a halt.
Anu reached out, encircled the Goddess Queen’s slender yet powerful waist, and burst out laughing:
"Hahahahaha... The Creation Nine Pillars School has slogged away for a thousand years, and every single arrangement was tailored for Horus.
Even the child you two conceived was named Horus.
Now the Divine King’s throne has changed hands, even Horus is gone—let’s see how you plan to keep this ritual of ’Mythical Reenactment’ going!"
All the Wizards changed color at those words.
If things had gone strictly according to the Radiant Queen’s initial plan—having a child with Byron and naming him Horus—then from the standpoint of Mysticism, the ritual would only specifically target that one Divine King.
Now that the Divine King had suddenly been replaced by the Wolf God, they really might be stuck, unable to proceed any further without a "protagonist" who shared the same name.
That was the benefit of having a Traitor on the inside and getting reliable Intelligence in advance—you could prepare responses ahead of time and win with ease.
"Becoming a God is really effortless, hahahaha..."
Among the Wizards, Cat God Bast’s heart rose and fell with the shifting situation; if her body weren’t strong enough, her cardiovascular system would have exploded by now. Hearing this, she finally flew into a rage:
"Traitor, who the hell betrayed the School’s secrets?!"
At that moment, the Grimoire floating behind the Wolf God flipped open again, and another figure, familiar to everyone, leapt out of its pages.
White hair, age-spotted face under a golden crown—despite having Fourth Order strength, he looked every inch like an old man with one foot in the grave.
It was none other than the Radiant Queen’s younger brother, the Cat God’s elder brother, and the current Pharaoh King of the Desert Empire, Ptolemy XIV!
The old man plainly relished the looks of shock on their faces. He felt no shame in being a Traitor; he was proud of it, and his mouth even carried a hint of triumphant swagger:
"Hahaha, that’s right, it’s me—your Pharaoh King Ptolemy XIV, who will also be the first Pharaoh King of the Anu Dynasty under the Divine King Anu’s rule.
No, that’s wrong—Your Majesty has already granted me eternal life. I will be the only Pharaoh King in the Mortal World! Hahahaha..."
He turned to look at his nominal wife, the [Radiant Queen] Cleopatra VII, and at Byron, the "father of the wife’s child," his gaze cold and venomous like a snake:
"Adulterous pair!
You probably never imagined the Gods’ punishment for you would come this quickly, did you? This is exactly what you deserve.
And as for the rest of you..."
He twisted his head to glare at the other members of the Creation Nine Pillars School, the hatred and malice in his eyes chilling to the bone:
"The reason I ended up like this—you all share in the blame.
You hogged the limited High Sequence seats in the School and blocked the path of those who came after.
I clearly possess the research talents of a Fifth Order Upper Wizard, yet I lack just a bit of luck, so I had to stagnate at the mortal, time-limited Fourth Order and wait for Death.
You all forced me into this!
After today, I want to see who still dares look down on me!"
[Cat God] Bast flushed red and retorted:
"Nonsense!
It’s you who kept walking down every crooked, depraved path—how can you blame anyone else?
Two hundred years ago, you studied Mummy modification surgeries, secretly abducted hundreds of Imperial slaves and commoners as test subjects, trying to gain eternal life by constantly replacing the organs in hollowed-out Mummies with fresh ones.
You knew perfectly well that even if you succeeded in the end, whatever you created would be as Bizarre as any monstrosity, if not worse.
You sobbed and begged for Mercy, and since most of the victims were slaves of the Black Iron Race, our older sister finally forgave you.
A hundred years ago, you ordered the major cities to burn through vast human and material resources to secretly build nine Pyramid tombs for you, attempting to experiment with a certain Apotheosis Ritual from the Mythological Era—you walked into one of those tombs, trying to use Death to blind the world.
Before they were even completed, the shortage of labor left the land barren and the people in misery.
You even planned to slaughter everyone who built the tombs once they finished, just to keep the secret.
Again, it was our sister’s timely intervention that prevented catastrophe.
The last time was twenty years ago—you tried to seize the moment while your Power was still at its peak to carve out a path of [War]. You listened to some castrated Chamberlain of the Black Iron Race and personally led troops to attack a small country in the north ruled by Activated knowledge.
But they beat you with the weak overcoming the strong, crushed your army, and even captured you; you fled back to an Imperial border fortress and knocked on the gate to be let in.
Once more, it was our sister who cleaned up your mess.
After three such disasters, the only reason you still sat on the throne was because our family had no other male members.
Letting you die of old age was already the greatest courtesy—how can you still be this shameless?!!"
Ptolemy XIV showed not a shred of guilt on his face:
"The one at fault isn’t me, it’s you—and this world.
Your ’Mythical Reenactment’ ritual has already failed. All of you should get on your knees and beg for Mercy.
If you can make my Lord happy, you might even get the chance to become His divine consorts."
Then he turned back, fawning at the Wolf God:
"Great Your Majesty, I offer you my elder sister and younger sister—they are the finest beauties of all.
Only you are worthy of possessing them."
Byron had already seen through him.
This Ptolemy XIV was nothing but a psychological man-child who firmly believed he had never done anything wrong, and that everyone else was to blame.
Not only did he feel no guilt for repeatedly wreaking havoc on the common folk, he actually saw the [Radiant Queen] and the other School Wizards as great foes blocking his path.
Not only did he refuse to shoulder the Pharaoh King’s responsibility of acting as Guardian of the people, he frantically dragged them down whenever anyone tried to do something.
Of course, from the Wolf God’s perspective, someone like this was the perfect puppet agent.
While His true form was temporarily unable to return to the Material World, He could set this man up as a puppet Pharaoh King to help Him herd the masses.
The Cat God was fuming till smoke seemed to pour from all seven Qiao; the [Radiant Queen], however, showed no surprise at Ptolemy XIV’s appearance. Her expression stayed cool as she said:
"Who told you the child in my belly is Horus?
Think carefully: is what you’re seeing really what you’re seeing, and not what we want you to see?"
Byron also flashed a wicked grin at the [Wolf God], whose face had subtly changed:
"Since you’re all lining up to call me Daddy, then I, ’Osiris,’ will mercifully accept you as my son. Good boy—call me Daddy."
Their words had barely fallen.
The nameless existence between [Osiris] and [Isis], not yet born into the world, suddenly shifted in aura; the corruption that had been suppressed instantly surged back, its erosion speed surpassing even how fast it had devoured Horus just now.
