Meanwhile, Naia’s party was heading straight to the base with minimal detours. The only detour was when they passed by a farm, filling up her space with new orchards, new animals, and so on.

They had to be subtle because there were still people there, so Naia only stole a small portion of the animals and the edge parts of the orchards and vineyards.

During this time, various volcanoes started showing signs of eruption. For those near the volcanoes, this meant a lot of localized earthquakes and lava flows.

For the territories farther away, it was darkening skies. It was already darkened due to the ashes and other things created by the impact. Now, the simultaneous explosions of these volcanoes would add to it, expediting the mega storms and the cryogenic winter that would soon come.

All throughout their trip, the atmosphere was dreary. Even if there was no major damage in some areas, people’s psyches definitely were.

People were filled with worry and anxiety, hoping this would end soon. Well, most people certainly wouldn’t imagine that this was permanent and that it would get even worse.

She took another hundred square meters filled with apple trees, and someone was already asking Grandma inside the space to make peach-mango pie.

In fact, the space was overflowing with fruits and plants now. She just took what she wanted without much thought.

The fruits she had taken before were already ripe and overflowing and a lot of them had gone overripe. After all, most of the time, it was only Gale and Glen in there. How much could two people do? It wasn’t like they only had the farm to handle. There were a lot of things to arrange in the space.

Fortunately, Grandma, Granduncle, the kids, and many others had entered and helped out. Grandma was already making food from space produce, one of which was her now-favorite peach mango pie.

It was super delicious!

After a while, they passed through a farm that had just been abandoned. There was a forest fire happening nearby, so it wasn’t a surprise. In this case, they took all surviving livestock.

She took the henhouses, the pigs, and the cows. There were also a few sheep.

They were to be raised free-range in the space (she set the forest and pasture area), but there would still be some care. Those inside the space immediately began to work and handle things, allowing Naia and the others to focus on the trip.

Naia took a few fruits and handed a few pieces to everyone in the car, including Kael the driver. These were stock from one of the first fruits she had taken back when she went to the North. This should be one of the first batches of fruits that had grown in space.

She held out her hand to give it to him. Kael didn’t look at her. "I’m driving," he said. "But I want to eat," he then added as if she’d take it back.

"..."

You had no problem driving with one arm earlier...

She wanted to tease him but decided to be cooperative today. She lifted the fruit up in front of his mouth so it’d be easier for him.

Crunch!

When he purposely changed the angle so he could slightly nab at her finger, causing a tingling sensation to travel from her finger down her spine. She glared at him, but he pretended not to see anything.

Meanwhile, the people at the back were unaware of the shameless flirting happening in front of them.

They were immersed with eating their fruit.

Crunch!

"This is so delicious!" Linlin exclaimed with muffled words, the chewed apple still inside her mouth. "Where did you get these?"

Hans nodded in agreement, speaking after he swallowed a large bite. "Is this an imported variety or something?"

"Could it be part of the harvest earlier?" he asked. Linlin shook her head.

"No, the trees we just took didn’t have fruit yet."

Naia heard their conversation and smiled. She had tasted apples from this tree before she placed it in her space. It was quite different from how it tasted now.

She could attest: The apples nourished by her space were naturally the best.

...

Meanwhile, in the suburban area of the capital, a woman and her daughter looked out the window, staring at the dark skies with worried expressions on their faces.

The husband emerged from the room and followed their sight, a solemn expression on his face.

"I wonder when they’ll arrive?" the woman, Tanya, asked her husband. "I hope they are all right. The Fall happened earlier than we expected.

"Didn’t you say they were on the way here already before the line was cut?"

"They’re fine. I received a call from Kael. They’re on their way here."

Tanya nodded. "Then, mother and I will clean up their villa again later so they can settle down quickly."

Tanya really appreciated Kael and Naia, very much. If it weren’t for them, she and her husband would be so clueless about what would happen. To be honest, she was really anxious right now. If she weren’t aware of what would happen, she might’ve gone crazy.

Just the image of herself and her family out in the open in this disaster made her shiver in fear, and she unconsciously embraced her 2-year-old daughter.

"Mamaaa..." the little one seemed to have felt her anxiety and gifted her a wide, gummy grin.

Tanya’s eyes sparkled, and she couldn’t help but kiss her soft face. "Oh, my cute baby..."

Michael watched his wife and child with a grateful heart. The more the disasters passed, the more he felt like he was incredibly lucky.

Michael, following Kael’s example, bought a villa in the same neighborhood. He brought his wife, daughter, and widowed mother with him.

His mother was old and had a mini heart attack due to the ground shaking, so she was currently in the room, while his wife and daughter stood tensely by the window, hoping the nightmare he described to them would not come true.

Sadly, that wish would not come true.

However, the positive was that at least they were all together.
