Chapter 1242: Chapter 403: Crossfire on Two Fronts (3)
They wanted their own artillery to fight back, but the counter-battery radar just couldn’t get an accurate fix on the enemy guns. Every volley they fired out got zero feedback, all they could hear was their own officers at every level screaming themselves hoarse.
This kind of enemy you can’t see or touch was mowing them down like crazy, the hit to morale was way beyond "serious."
They’d just eaten the exact same massive loss that the Havana Army had suffered countless times.
And aside from the Army, the Mechanics’ Reaper drones were also plugged into this whole info-fire network.
Several Reapers loaded with air-to-air missiles took off and climbed; with no friendly attack aircraft on station, they were the players’ only airpower.
"Tornado Wrecked Parking Lot has reached the designated airspace, now searching for targets."
The player who’d infiltrated the enemy lines quietly gave a position report.
"Tornado, enemy helicopter targets two, last seen eight klicks northwest of you. Cross the ridgeline and they’ll enter visual range, search carefully."
"Ten o’clock, visual contact, target acquired!"
Whoosh, whoosh!
The four IR missiles slung under the fuselage shot out in an instant, leaving only a trail of white smoke hanging in the air.
The Cuba pilot who was just about to launch at a preset bunker was completely stunned—how the hell did he suddenly get missile lock?
No way, no way, nobody has radar anymore, how can their strikes still be this precise?
You guys running cheats or what?
If he’d ever played a PVP online game, he’d definitely be screaming about actors and directors, that he was getting "scripted."
There’s a mole inside, but the deal can’t be stopped.
"Damn it, chaff! Pop chaff!"
But the player-modded AAMs didn’t give a damn about chaff; they hit straight on, and both helicopters turned into fireballs and fell out of the sky.
Air force wiped, artillery wiped.
While the enemy command still hadn’t reacted, Super Earth’s armored ground forces rolled out.
They’d been allocated sixteen tanks in total, and this time every last one was going in, teamed up with other support vehicles to form a combined armored task force.
"All crews listen up, smoke launcher vehicles starting work. Smoke’s phosphorus-based, keep all your hatches sealed tight."
Crackling pops!
Like fireworks bursting, clusters of white smoke suddenly erupted in front of Super Earth’s positions, wiping out all line of sight.
"Obstacle-clearing group! Obstacle-clearing group! Launch the line charges, open the road!"
Several one-kilometer demolition line charges were fired from vehicle launchers; the white "ropes" fell straight, then a few seconds later went up in a massive blast, clearing every mine along the path.
"Minefield breached!"
The Cuba frontline commander saw this and instantly knew the enemy armor was about to attack.
Even though he couldn’t believe that, with such a huge manpower disadvantage, these lunatics actually dared to countercharge, they were doing it anyway.
"Artillery! Artillery!"
No one answered.
"Helicopter squadron!"
No one answered.
"Where’re the tanks! Fuck! Where are our guys!"
The whole channel was dead silent, like someone had unplugged all their internet cables while they weren’t looking.
The forward commander felt his scalp crawl.
He had no idea how the enemy had pulled it off, but they’d pulled it off.
Even with radar down, the enemy still managed to spot first, fire first, kill first.
A dozen-plus tanks poked their heads out of the white smoke, steel beasts with tracks roaring; that thick armor made you lose any desire to even try to hit them with one glance. One of them was even a six-legged Zaku.
"On target contact, fire at own discretion! All crews load one HE-frag! Shooting on the move! Execute!"
Facing this steel flood, the cartel Alliance Army that had lost the bulk of its anti-armor assets could only desperately fire anything that could be launched.
But before they could even deploy, the smoke launcher vehicles shoved their barrels right in their faces, dumping another wave of smoke and haze so they couldn’t lock onto anything at all.
The players’ level of coordination was downright terrifying; compared to them, the cartel Alliance Army Soldier-to-Soldier links were pathetically weak.
Units from different drug lords didn’t share command channels; units under the same drug lord but from different formations had conflicting interests and flat-out refused to cooperate in battle, everyone fighting their own separate war.
"Armor units, follow the plan, push through at full speed. You must work with the infantry squads to complete the encirclement."
That’s right—encirclement.
Two thousand surrounding eight thousand!
A bunch of people dared to dream it, a bunch of people dared to do it.
One cartel squad with RPGs in hand stared blankly at the thick white phosphorus smoke in front of them, tracks clattering louder and louder in their ears, yet they had no way to make any effective response.
Finally, they saw Super Earth’s tanks.
The metal giant punched through the smoke again, its near-three-meter gun barrel jammed straight up against a Soldier’s forehead.
That Soldier stared into the bottomless dark of the bore and forgot to resist altogether; his legs just gave out, and he threw both hands up.
"I surrender! I surrender!"
The rest of the Soldiers copied him instantly; nobody dared fight back now. They tossed their anti-tank weapons and dropped to their knees.
Seeing this, the players in the tank cracked up, swung the turret over, and used the gun barrel to smack a guy on the head and knock him out. Then they couldn’t be bothered with them anymore and just kept rolling forward.
This time, command had done its homework—they were going to steamroll Europe’s forces before they could react, using this elite Super Earth unit to exploit their strengths against Europe’s weaknesses.
Push as far as they could push, advance like maniacs.
So Super Earth basically shattered the cartel Alliance Army’s first offensive with a wrecking-ball countercharge, and inflicted what was practically a crippling level of casualties on the Camaguey Republic forces.
Meanwhile, as the Dragon Field units from the surrounding area moved into Da Haguai, a few hours later Europe’s troops had already reached the city walls and set up howitzers, laying into the city with a massive bombardment.
Even though the electromagnetic jamming meant their shells weren’t accurate, they honestly didn’t care about accuracy at all. They were tossing shells like they were free, just pouring on the firepower, desperate to flatten every inch of ground into a parking lot.
