Please Divorce Me, Alpha! {BL}
Chapter 10: Guess Which Omega Gets Sacrificed (Level: Impossible)⋅•⋅⊰∙∘❦✾❦∘∙⊱⋅•-
Abusive or not, they did raise me...
Although, that didn’t mean I didn’t want them to suffer just a little bit...for all they put me through over the years. But I wasn’t really up for their complete ruin
But above all...
All I wanted was to leave and never look back.
Dad shoved me back. "You’ve devoted your whole life to embarrassing me!"
"He bumped into me and...!"
"You insulted him and that’s all that matters!"
"He insulted me first." At that, Dad’s eyes widened. I instantly realized I’d said the wrong thing. "I mean...his bodyguard insulted me!"
"That doesn’t matter!"
"It did when my cake was on the floor."
Silence. Even Blair stopped crying for a moment.
Dad looked at me like I’d just declared I was an alien from Uranus. "Your cake?"
I looked away. "That...that came out wrong."
"You risked our entire family over a piece of cake?!"
"When you put it that way, it sounds worse."
My stepmother made a disgusted noise. "Of course he’d make a joke."
Then she looked at Dad. "He’s never understood the consequences of his actions."
You see, while my dad hated my ass because I was a male omega (and because his inability to produce a male Alpha hurt his poor, fragile masculinity)
Lydia hated me, because I was a walking proof of her husband’s affair with a maid in her matrimonial home.
I turned to her. "I understand them perfectly well. I just didn’t know who he was!"
"You knew he was dangerous."
"I didn’t even know his name!"
Dad stepped forward again, and instinctively, I moved back.
That tiny movement only seemed to make him angrier. "You should’ve been more careful."
My stepmother gazed at me, her expression cold. "You’re pathetic."
"Thanks."
"Stop it!" Dad shouted.
The room fell silent. I could taste blood where I’d bitten the inside of my cheek.
Dad looked down at me, that familiar mix of disappointment, anger, and contempt on his face.
Then his foot connected with my side. I curled up instinctively, an arm wrapping around myself as pain spread through my ribs.
For a few seconds, it was quiet. I heard Blair sniffle.
When I looked up, she was staring at me, relief somehow mixed in her expression, before she lowered her gaze.
Dad hovered over me. "You should’ve been left as a stain on the sheets!"
Those words hit harder than the kick. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe.
He’d said cruel things before, but that one dug deeper, maybe because I’d spent twenty-five years wondering if he really did regret having me. Now I knew for sure.
My stepmother didn’t defend me; she didn’t even seem uncomfortable. Instead, she turned to Blair and stroked her hair.
Finally, Dad stepped back, the room went quiet again.
Then he dropped a bombshell to that made me look up.
"You must marry him."
Blair froze. "What?"
"The Castelli heir, you heard those men when they came...they have chosen an omega from this family."
Her face went pale. "No!"
"You will marry him."
"No!" She shot up, tears flowing down her cheeks again. "Father, no! You can’t make me do that!"
"You have no choice."
"I don’t even know him!"
"Neither did you know the other men you’ve been entertaining."
Blair shook her head. "But...but he’s dangerous!"
Dad slammed his hand on the table. "That’s exactly why you will marry him!"
Blair flinched.
"They won’t accept rejection now. Do you understand what that means?! Thanks to your useless brother, we’ve already insulted their son... if we reject their proposal to add to it, they’ll see it as an attack against them!"
She stared at him. "No."
"They’ll see it as an insult." His voice dropped. "The Castellis don’t tolerate insults."
My stomach twisted. I knew enough about the Castelli name to get what he meant. They weren’t just wealthy...they had a power that normal rich families didn’t. The Castelli Syndicate had connections everywhere: business, politics, law enforcement, crime. People whispered about them at parties and lowered their voices whenever their name came up.
And I had called their psychopath heir Dracula...just fantastic. My life was turning into a dark comedy.
Blair shook her head vigorously. "I won’t marry him."
"You will."
"No!" She cried harder. "I’d rather die! If you make me do it, I’ll kill myself! I swear I will!"
The room fell silent. Dad looked stricken and there it was...the one weapon Blair had that I never did: his love.
My stepmother pulled her daughter into her arms. "Don’t say that, my darling. It’s going to be alright..."
"I can’t marry him!"
"You won’t," my stepmother said, her eyes turning to Dad. "Our daughter will not be sacrificed to such a monster because of Alex."
I stared at them, something cold settling in my stomach.
Dad looked worn out. "Then what do you want me to do? Our family is no where as influencial as theirs! They’ll ruin us in less than a day with their ruthlessness and connections!"
My stepmother hesitated. Slowly, she looked at me. I was still on the floor, ignoring the ache in my side, still tasting blood. Her expression held no pity. Then she laid it out.
"Alex will marry him."
I stared at her, thinking I must’ve misheard. "What?"
She met my gaze directly.
"They never specified which Omega they wanted...only said they wanted one from this family. He’s the one who started this mess." Dad’s expression changed and she continued smoothly. "So he can finish it."
I looked between them, my dad didn’t object. That was the worst part...he stood there, weighing the idea as though it was a perfectly reasonable solution.
Pushing myself up, I whispered, "You can’t be serious."
My stepmother didn’t waver. "Why not?"
"Because I’m not marrying him."
"You don’t have a choice."
"I didn’t even know who he was."
No one responded. I scanned the room...Dad, my stepmother, Blair, nobody cared. That horrible realization settled in: they weren’t debating whether I should marry him; they’d already made up their minds.
Blair was safe because she was loved. I was expendable because I wasn’t.
Dad moved toward the window. "If we reject the Castellis now, we could lose everything."
I chuckled weakly. "You’ve already lost everything."
His head whipped around.
"The company is collapsing because you keep gambling."
"Enough! Either you marry him or we’ll throw you out into the streets! With absolutely nothing, you’ll live like the beggar drifting from place to place with nowhere to call home... just like you’ve always dreamed off."
I looked down at my trembling hands. Not from the pain, but from the fear. For years, I’d imagined escaping this house. I dreamt of trains, planes, cheap apartments, foreign cities, of waking up somewhere nobody knew my name.
I envisioned freedom...poor but happy instead of rich and miserable. But this wasn’t freedom. This was just trading one cage for another. This one belonged to a man whose name struck fear in powerful people. And I’d already insulted him.
Glancing at the window, I caught sight of the black limousine slipping away through the gates. One of the guys in the car turned his head. For a moment, I felt like he was looking directly at the house, at me. Then they vanished around the bend.
I lowered my eyes. The horror novel I’d been reading upstairs now seemed laughably tame. At least the monsters in books had the courtesy to announce themselves.
I sat on the carpet, my cheek throbbing, my side aching, while my family discussed my future like I was just another piece of furniture they were trying to sell. And beneath all that fear, one miserable thought kept circling my mind.
I’d spent twenty-five years trying to escape the Sinclair family. Apparently, my reward was going to be marrying a mafia Don.
Honestly, I was starting to think losing the cake might’ve been the least of my problems.
