Pokemon: Bounty Hunter Alex

Chapter 548. The Wattson Household

Chapter 548: Chapter 548. The Wattson Household

"You have a lovely home," Perrin said as she stepped into the main hub in Kanto after teleporting there with Alex and Alvera.

She stayed close to Alvera, their hands intertwined as they walked side by side. Their relationship was obvious to anyone who saw them, though there was little need to express it. Nobody in the hub paid them much attention, let alone cared who was dating whom.

"What do you mean, home?" Alvera asked. "This is just the lobby. It’s not even a home."

"I’m just nervous, okay?"

"Why? You’re older than my dad—Ouch!" Alvera winced as Perrin pinched her side.

"It’s not nice to tell other people my age."

"It’s not like it’s a secret. You’re a famous photographer."

"Still!"

The three rode the elevator and finally reached the top floor, where they entered the living room of their actual home.

"Now you can say it," Alvera teased.

"I don’t want to anymore," Perrin muttered.

"Oh, don’t be like that."

"Alex!" Vera greeted with a bright smile as she rushed over and hugged him. "Why are you back so soon?"

"To me, it’s been 6 months, but it’s only been 2 days here."

"So you could have stayed in that dimension for 90 years?" Vera asked in shock.

"I wouldn’t have," Alex replied. "It would have been pointless."

The four of them settled on the couch, with Perrin trying her best to be presentable even though, as Alvera had said, she was the oldest person in the entire building. Vera greeted her but didn’t comment much. Alvera was quite a handful at the best of times, so anyone who could keep her attention deserved her respect.

Soon, more people joined them one after another as they heard the news that Alex was back and was about to tell them how his expedition had gone. Most of the family showed up, with a few being too busy to come back just for a story and preferring to record it or join a video call instead.

They were all busy people, after all, with strict schedules of their own. Only those at the base were free enough to actually come at the drop of a hat.

Perrin looked on at the complex family dynamic that was the Wattson household. There were wives and their adult children, girlfriends who had no interest in getting married but were still considered part of the family, and Nyx.

She wore a skimpy, sexy outfit consisting of a black bra, black micro skirt, thong, black choker, and heels that practically stamped her as a slut, yet somehow raised no questions from anyone.

And then there was her, the +1 who had somehow gotten along quite well with everyone.

It was chaotic, unconventional, and by any normal standard completely absurd, yet somehow, it all worked. Beneath the mess of relationships and personalities was a genuine sense of harmony that made the whole family feel surprisingly cohesive. And at the center of it all was Alex Wattson, a ruthless bounty hunter with an impeccable record as a Master ranked trainer.

Although he was impressive for another reason, one that Alvera had been driving into her throughout their relationship so she could understand the hype. He was indeed ’impressive’ enough to share.

Once everyone who could come had arrived, Alex began his story. He had arrived in Alola, which was shrouded in Eternal Darkness, somehow convinced a Zeraora to come along, taken a random chance on heading to Ultra Megalopolis, subdued Ultra Necrozma as if it were nothing, returned to Alola and fought off Tapu Bulu, embarked on an extensive journey through the Ultra Dimension, and finally returned far richer than anyone could have hoped.

The materials alone were worth well over a billion credits, most of which he had kept for distribution. Rhea got her materials, Kaia got her plants and seed samples, Nyx got her database, and Vera got her Master ranked materials and Legendary Pokémon body parts taken from Zeraora, Ultra Necrozma, and Tapu Bulu, as well as the Ultra Beasts. Even Lina got a share, as she was given plenty of Champion ranked and higher Ultra Beasts as meat sources, with all the Elite ranked ones being sold to the League.

Perrin was impressed, to say the least. So much so that she was considering reaching Master rank just to be able to take the most unique photographs the world would ever see. Of course, Master ranked trainers shared plenty of photos and videos among themselves, but most were little more than random recordings and poorly taken snapshots. Nothing that could compare to her expertise.

Alvera squeezed Perrin’s hand as they listened, her excitement bleeding into Perrin. Just from the look in her eyes, Perrin could tell Alvera had the exact same idea. She knew about Alvera’s love for her father’s stories growing up, and she had to admit it was wondrous. It made perfect sense where Alvera had gotten her adventurous side. It had been both inherited through her father’s genes and nurtured in her from a young age.

Once the story ended, the conversation quickly shifted toward more serious matters.

"So we’re basically guaranteed a billion credits every time Alex heads out on an expedition?" Nyx asked.

"If we sold everything? Probably more," Rhea answered. "We kept the Ultra Beasts for materials and meat, while most of the materials Alex collected went straight into our vault so we could build up a stockpile for when we need them. The League took roughly 60% of the spoils, and even that was mostly junk to us. If Alex took the time to be more selective about what he brought back, we could probably push that to 1.5 half billion credits."

"Best of all, Alex now has command over Necrozma," Iris pointed out. "That means he can maintain a steady supply of valuable resources no matter which version of the Pokémon world he travels to. Even in the worst-case scenario, he can always hop into the Ultra Dimension and hunt down some of the most precious materials imaginable."

"Command is a bit of a stretch," Alex said. "We have an understanding at most, since it still refuses to bond with me. I might even lose control of it if it gets 100% of its power back."

"Can’t you just fake it?" Kaia asked.

"I won’t," Alex said seriously. "If I lose its trust, it’ll become even more bothersome to deal with."

"Speaking of which," Vera said, turning to Alvera. "How’s your bond with Zeraora?"

"It’s fine," Alvera replied. "It’s extremely excited at the moment since it gets to travel and see the sights. As for the bond, it isn’t deep, but there’s room for growth once we build trust."

"So other Pokémon can bond with us so long as they’re in this dimension," Vera pointed out. "Is that the reason Necrozma was refusing?"

"No," Alex replied firmly. "It’s just rejecting my attempts. I think it simply doesn’t trust humans in general, which is fair given its experience. I probably would have been able to bond with it if it had allowed me to back in that dimension."

"So it’s just our special ability compared to trainers from other dimensions?"

"It looks that way."

Perrin was amazed at how nonchalantly this family talked about finances that surpassed everything she had ever earned in her life, and that was just from a single dimensional expedition. Not that she was in desperate need of money. She was simply amazed by this whole new world she had found herself a part of.

This family was simply too wealthy and successful.

"Hey, Rhea," Alvera called out. "Would you mind outfitting my girl?"

"Hm?" Rhea turned to Perrin, inspecting her from head to toe. "It shouldn’t be a problem. She just needs to sign an NDA and promise not to sell or ’lose’ it. Your gear is technically proprietary information that the League has been drooling over for decades now. You have no idea how many lunatics call me on a daily basis. My poor Magnezone is swamped."

Perrin blushed, remaining silent by Alvera’s side. She was touched that Alvera trusted her enough to ask for something like this for her. She had seen the kinds of gadgets Alvera carried to ensure her safety, and she had been quite impressed.

"What are you planning to do now?" Kaia asked. "Will you stay for a year like you promised?"

"Yeah. My Pokémon need a break from running around one dimension after another, fighting Pokémon while hunting for resources. They deserve a few months of downtime. I also need to start talking with Necrozma and sound it out. It would be great if we could establish a bond, but it isn’t particularly necessary so long as our deal remains in place. Apart from that, I need a break too. It’s been 6 months, you know," Alex said with a mischievous smile.

He stood and stretched his body.

"I think that’s about everything we need to talk about. I’ll leave you girls to handle sorting through the stuff I brought back," he said, walking over to Nyx, who had an expectant look on her face.

He picked her up and draped her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"I need to start sifting through the database," Nyx complained, though her heart was already set on whatever Alex had in mind.

"Liar. You’ve already instructed your Rotom to handle that for you. Be a good girl and come help me unwind," Alex said as the pair disappeared into the master bedroom.

A resounding slap of flesh accompanied the closing of the door, along with a heartfelt, lustful moan.

Groans spread among the children, while the women took on apologetic looks as they stared at Nyx, who was in for a rough week, perhaps even a month.

Perrin blushed heavily as Alvera’s grip on her hand tightened. It seemed she would be a bit busy this evening as well.
