The brilliant golden spear struck Raikou.

Boom!

Sacred energy exploded.

A blinding golden radiance engulfed Raikou's entire body.

The spear itself wasn't an ordinary physical weapon.

It had been created entirely from energy.

The instant it struck its target, all of the power condensed inside it erupted at once.

The resulting impact swept across the battlefield.

Dust and shattered fragments of stone flew everywhere.

For several seconds...

No one could see what had happened inside the golden light.

Then the radiance slowly faded.

Raikou's figure finally became visible again.

He collapsed heavily onto the ground.

His eyes had already lost focus.

He no longer had the strength to stand.

Raikou had lost the ability to battle.

For a brief moment...

The entire stadium was silent.

Then—

BOOM!

Deafening cheers and applause erupted from every direction.

The spectators had finally recovered from their shock.

But even while cheering, many of them felt strangely numb.

They had witnessed too many unbelievable things today.

Again and again...

Shiko had sent out creatures none of them had ever seen.

Again and again...

Those creatures had displayed tremendous combat power.

And whenever the opponents seemed strong enough to threaten them...

They evolved.

Then returned to the battle even stronger than before.

This process had repeated itself so many times that the spectators almost felt as though their understanding of Pokémon had been shattered and rebuilt several times over.

But when they thought carefully about what had just happened...

The shock returned.

Belotti had brought out all three of the Three Legendary Birds.

Articuno.

Zapdos.

Moltres.

Then came the Three Legendary Beasts.

Suicune.

Entei.

Raikou.

Six Legendary Pokémon.

And not a single one had managed to defeat Shiko's team.

Shiko had swept all six.

The impact of that result was enormous.

This wasn't merely a victory.

It was absolute domination.

The outcome of the tournament was now obvious.

Shiko was the champion.

Yet just as everyone believed the competition had finally reached its conclusion...

Something unexpected happened.

Belotti didn't immediately leave.

Instead, she looked directly at Shiko.

The atmosphere around her changed.

There was no frustration from losing the finals.

No embarrassment.

No disappointment.

Her expression was strangely calm.

Then she suddenly spoke.

"So this is the strength you possess."

Shiko looked at her without answering.

Belotti's gaze sharpened.

"To me, winning or losing this tournament was never particularly important."

The people nearby gradually fell silent.

Something about her tone felt wrong.

Belotti continued.

"I'll admit it. I didn't expect to lose."

"Much less like this."

"But the competition itself was never my true objective."

Her eyes remained fixed on Shiko.

"What I truly wanted was to see exactly what kind of person you were."

"And what kind of creatures you had created."

Shiko's eyes narrowed slightly.

Created.

So that was still what she cared about.

Belotti had clearly mistaken the Digimon for artificially manufactured Pokémon.

The hostility she had displayed earlier hadn't disappeared.

If anything...

It had become even stronger.

"You manipulate life however you please."

Belotti's voice became colder.

"You create living beings as if they were nothing more than tools."

"Do you really think there are no consequences for something like that?"

She stared at Shiko.

"Now that the match is finished..."

"Fight me."

"I'll show you what real power looks like."

The nearby spectators were stunned.

What?

The competition was already over!

Why was Belotti suddenly challenging Shiko personally?

In the VIP viewing area, several people immediately began discussing the situation.

"Should we go down there?"

"Not yet."

Someone quickly stopped them.

"That man is there."

"For now, watch."

The others hesitated.

Then they remained where they were.

With Shiko present, rushing in without understanding the situation could easily make matters worse.

On the battlefield...

Shiko looked at Belotti.

Then he smiled faintly.

"You watched everything that happened today."

"You've already seen my strength."

"And you can still say something like that?"

"Fine."

"Then show me."

"I'd like to see where your confidence comes from."

There was even a trace of mockery in his voice.

Belotti's expression remained cold.

The next instant...

Her body suddenly blurred.

"What?!"

The spectators stared in shock.

Belotti's human appearance began breaking apart.

Fragments of light peeled away from her body.

Her silhouette changed.

The illusion surrounding her disappeared little by little.

And underneath it...

There was no human being.

A humanoid Pokémon stood there.

Its body was pale.

A long purple tail extended behind it.

Its eyes contained an unmistakable intelligence—and a faint trace of contempt.

The moment its true form appeared...

An oppressive Psychic presence spread across the battlefield.

Shiko stared at it.

For the first time since the finals began, genuine surprise appeared in his eyes.

So that was it.

Belotti wasn't human at all.

Or rather...

Belotti was merely a disguise.

The being standing before him had another name.

Mewtwo.

Shiko immediately understood many things that had previously seemed strange.

That explained why Belotti had been able to sense something familiar from the Digimon.

She herself was an artificial lifeform.

A Pokémon created through human experimentation.

So when she mistakenly believed that Shiko's Digimon were also artificial Pokémon...

Her anger made perfect sense.

There was a certain irony to it.

Mewtwo had mistaken him for the same kind of people who had once treated life as a research project.

Shiko looked at Mewtwo carefully.

"So you were hiding behind a human appearance this entire time."

Mewtwo's expression didn't change.

"You humans place far too much importance on appearances."

The spectators were still trying to process what they were seeing.

"What Pokémon is that?"

"I've never seen anything like it!"

"Is it some kind of Ditto transformation?"

"No way! Can't you feel that pressure?!"

"It looks... strangely similar to Mew."

"Mew?"

"Then what exactly is this thing?!"

Confusion spread throughout the stadium.

None of them understood what had just appeared.

But they could all feel it.

This Pokémon was incredibly dangerous.

Elsewhere...

Far from the stadium...

Inside a hidden facility belonging to Team Rocket, several technical personnel stared at the live broadcast.

The moment Mewtwo revealed its true form, the atmosphere changed.

Someone's eyes widened.

Then...

A crazed smile slowly appeared.

"Found you."

"At last... I found you."

"My child."

"I never imagined you would reveal yourself to the entire world like this."

"But this is fine too."

"Show me."

"Show me exactly how powerful you have become."

Back at the stadium...

Mewtwo raised one hand.

Psychic energy surged around it.

The air itself seemed to distort.

A purple sphere of energy gradually formed above its palm.

Shiko's expression became serious.

This was completely different from Belotti's previous Pokémon.

The Three Legendary Birds and Three Legendary Beasts had been powerful.

But the presence radiating from Mewtwo was on another level entirely.

This was no ordinary Second-tier Legendary.

Its strength had already reached the realm of a First-tier Legendary.

Ophanimon immediately moved in front of Shiko.

Her sacred spear appeared in her hand once more.

Mewtwo glanced at her.

"So you intend to use her against me?"

Its tone carried obvious disdain.

Ophanimon didn't answer.

She attacked.

Golden light erupted from her weapon.

Whoosh!

The spear thrust forward.

At almost the same instant, Mewtwo moved.

Its Psychic power exploded.

Boom!

Sacred light and Psychic energy collided.

A terrifying shockwave spread outward.

The spectators cried out as the defensive barriers around the battlefield trembled violently.

Ophanimon was forced backward.

Her wings spread wide as she stabilized herself in midair.

Mewtwo barely moved.

The difference was immediately obvious.

In this first direct collision...

Mewtwo had taken the advantage.

Shiko's eyes narrowed.

Ophanimon was extremely powerful after evolving.

She had already surpassed ordinary Second-tier Legendaries and approached the boundary of a First-tier Legendary.

But Mewtwo...

Had crossed that boundary completely.

This was a true First-tier Legendary-level opponent.

And Mewtwo clearly had no intention of giving Ophanimon time to recover.

Its eyes flashed.

Psychic energy surged again.

A massive blade of condensed psychic power formed and shot forward.

Ophanimon raised her spear.

Clang!

The two forces collided.

Another violent explosion tore through the battlefield.

Ophanimon was pushed backward again.

Mewtwo's attacks followed without pause.

One after another.

Fast.

Precise.

Relentless.

The spectators could barely understand what was happening anymore.

The speed and complexity of the battle had already exceeded the limits of ordinary Trainers.

At this level...

Every exchange involved enormous amounts of energy, instantaneous judgment, and control far beyond anything they could comprehend.

Shiko remained calm.

But his expression had become noticeably more serious.

This opponent really was different.

Mewtwo looked toward him.

"Tch."

"You still intend to interfere?"

Its voice remained cold.

"You humans really are foolish."

"But if you want to experience despair so badly..."

"Then come."

Shiko didn't show even the slightest fear.

Instead, his attention sharpened.

Mewtwo's hostility was unmistakable.

And unlike the tournament battles...

This was no longer a competition.

His hand slowly clenched.

His knuckles cracked.
