Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Teleport

As the two passed through the shopping street again, a slightly plump middle-aged woman with curly permed hair elbowed the middle-aged man beside her, who was drinking beer.

"Look at them. How long has it been since you took me out for a ride?"

The man lowered his head, looked at his gradually rounding stomach, and sighed.

He decided that tomorrow, he would wipe down his motorcycle, push it out, and have it inspected.

And not just his old partner.

He needed a full overhaul too.

Middle age always came with too many helpless compromises.

He had to exercise properly.

A worn-out body could not keep up forever.

Thinking back, when he and his wife had still been deeply in love, they had also ridden a motorcycle through Solaceon Town, across Sinnoh, and once even all the way from Solaceon Town to the seaside in one breath.

The two of them had leaned against each other and watched the sun rise from the sea.

That was their lost youth.

The man considered himself rather skilled on a motorcycle when he was younger, but even he could not ride this slowly while remaining this stable.

And this young man’s motorcycle...

That dazzling light, that futuristic design...

When it came to romance, one really should not save money on necessary equipment.

Cyrus was sitting on a bench, staring blankly at the brilliant starry sky.

Suddenly, he saw two bright lights cutting through the night and shining onto the road not far ahead.

Cyrus looked over.

Hm?

Why had Julian come back again, riding that ghost-flame-like motorcycle with Cynthia behind him?

Was one lap not enough?

Did they want another?

Cyrus could not quite understand why anyone would waste time on something like this.

He shook his head.

Forget it.

Perhaps this was love.

Cyrus did not understand it, but he respected it and offered his blessing.

Julian was also somewhat surprised that Miraidon could use his eyes like headlights by releasing light from them.

Although he knew Miraidon could transform into a motorcycle, being able to do things to this degree was still rather surprising.

Compared to the primitive Koraidon, the motorcycle Miraidon transformed into was definitely much cooler.

At the same time, it also looked more like a neon street bike.

A sudden thought came to Julian.

What if he rode Miraidon and brought Cynthia back to the History Research Institute, then said to Professor Carolina, "Hey, old lady, is it safe if I park my glowing bike downstairs?"

And Cynthia said to Professor Carolina, "Grandma, you just don’t understand him!"

Thinking about it, that kind of scene would never happen.

But it was rather funny.

No matter how slowly Miraidon moved, the Solaceon Ruins were still there.

Eventually, they would arrive.

Compared to the first time, the two of them were mentally prepared this time.

There were not as many emotional ups and downs.

Looking at the statues of Dialga and Palkia, Cynthia’s thoughts churned endlessly.

Sinnoh’s legends.

How could she fully understand all those hidden secrets?

Julian took out a torch and handed it to Cynthia.

"Since it’s night, why don’t we walk around the Solaceon Ruins?"

Cynthia accepted the torch, and its bright beam shone onto Dialga.

Julian also turned on his torch, illuminating Palkia.

Looking at the stone carving of Palkia, Julian thought of the Palkia in the movie whose pearl shield had been shattered by Dialga.

Although Palkia had not won that fight, its cry had sounded really good.

Julian smiled and placed his backpack on the ground.

"Miraidon, I’ll leave guarding the luggage to you."

Miraidon nodded, then lay down on the ground to rest in relief.

Julian and Cynthia had enjoyed going back and forth.

But he, the Iron Serpent, had nearly been exhausted.

The two began walking around the Solaceon Ruins, observing this miracle created by ancient people.

It looked like a pyramid-like ruin.

But in truth, this thing could move!

Who knew what kind of technology the ancient people had used?

Cynthia’s observational ability was sharp. She frowned slightly.

"Someone came to the Solaceon Ruins just now. It seems they did something here."

There were some black marks on the ground.

Julian also aimed his torch at the ruin wall and nodded slightly.

"It looks like someone tried to damage the ruin wall to enter and search for something."

He turned his torch around and saw human footprints on the ground nearby.

"There were quite a few people, but they probably didn’t expect anyone to come. Besides, plenty of people visit the Solaceon Ruins normally, so they didn’t clean up the traces carefully enough."

Cynthia crouched down, wiped a finger across the mark left on the ground, then brought it to her nose and smelled it.

She could not identify it.

It was not made by a Pokémon. Most likely, it came from some kind of unknown advanced technology.

Julian shrugged.

"Judging by the traces, they probably didn’t achieve anything."

Cynthia nodded in agreement.

"I even suspect they deliberately left these traces behind, hoping someone would discover them and help them find the correct way to enter the Solaceon Ruins."

Cynthia thought for a moment.

The Solaceon Ruins had likely been built by an ancient Sinnoh civilisation, perhaps one connected to the Celestica people and the earliest worship of Sinnoh’s gods.

Though much of that civilisation had long since disappeared into history, the knowledge they left behind had not vanished completely.

Some of their secrets still remained, preserved in ruins like this one.

"Cassia, since we haven’t found anything, let’s go back and set up the tents."

"If we don’t sleep soon, Palkia and Dialga might not be able to enter our dreams."

Cynthia smiled.

"Alright."

Cynthia planned to tell her grandmother about the situation at the Solaceon Ruins once she returned.

With Professor Carolina’s connections, perhaps she could find some clues.

The two returned to the statues and took the tents out of the backpack.

They worked together with practiced coordination to set them up. Then they took out their washing supplies, cleaned up, and looked at each other with faint smiles.

Cynthia smiled gracefully.

"Good night."

Julian nodded, his smile fully displaying his charm.

"Sweet dreams."

Cynthia turned and entered her tent, rubbing her heated cheeks.

That damn Julian!

Even Cynthia’s carefully tempered willpower could barely withstand it.

Inside the tent, Cynthia tossed and turned. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Julian’s smiling face.

"Julian, are you asleep?"

There was no response...

Cynthia puffed up her cheeks in annoyance.

I told you to sleep, and you actually slept?

Who knew how much later it was before Cynthia finally sank into deep sleep.

She knew nothing after that.

She only remembered immersing herself in a blue world.

As for Julian, who had fallen asleep even earlier than Cynthia, he appeared in a pink space within his dream.

Julian was muddled, with little awareness of his surroundings.

But he heard a clear and melodious cry.

Within that cry, Julian seemed to grasp something.

And yet it also felt as if he had grasped nothing.

When he opened his eyes again, he had completely forgotten the dream.

Julian sat up and blinked blankly, looking at his own hands.

Last night, he had only slept in front of the Solaceon Ruins.

Why had his Psychic power increased so much after he woke up?

It seemed he had gained a new ability.

Julian closed his eyes and wrapped Psychic power around his entire body. He only felt as if his body had passed through a smooth passage.

Then he appeared in a new environment.

"Ah! Pervert!"

The moment Julian opened his eyes, a slap landed on his face.

He quickly closed his eyes and activated Teleport again.

He returned to his own tent.

Just now, he seemed to have teleported into someone else’s tent.
