Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed
Chapter 229: His Skin Is as Thick as His Strength! The video continued playing.
The golden ring closed amid the sea of clouds, leaving Elaria and Lillie standing on the cloud layer where Rayquaza spent most of its time.
Though "standing" wasn’t exactly accurate.
Beneath their feet was a small transparent psychic field created by Hoopa. It felt soft and springy underfoot, almost like they were standing on an enormous piece of jelly.
Elaria held Hoopa in her arms and looked around.
Clouds.
And more clouds.
"Hoopa, it looks like the Green Dragon isn’t home."
"Hoopa will look!"
Hoopa floated out of Elaria’s arms and swept both little hands through the air.
Another ring tore open above their heads.
On the other side was a collapsing asteroid belt, countless meteoroids crashing into one another in the vacuum of space.
The sight was spectacular—
Until a meteorite fragment shot through the ring and flew right past Hoopa.
"Hoopa!"
Elaria planted her hands on her hips.
"I told you not to casually open rings into outer space! It’s dangerous!"
"Hoopa is only trying to find the Green Dragon!"
Hoopa defended itself confidently.
"The Green Dragon loves eating meteorite fragments! Outer space is basically its buffet! Hoopa calls this precise targeting!"
"But you could easily get hit by a meteorite!"
"Don’t worry! Hoopa’s reflexes are amazing! Nothing will happen!"
The instant those words left its mouth—
Another meteorite fragment flew through the ring.
This time, Hoopa reacted half a beat too slowly.
Bonk!
The fragment smacked directly into its face.
Hoopa bounced twice across the cloud layer before finally coming to a stop.
"Hoopa! Are you okay?!"
Elaria hurried over and scooped it up.
A perfectly meteorite-shaped red mark had been stamped across Hoopa’s face.
Hoopa didn’t seem bothered in the slightest.
It simply grinned.
"Meteorite attacks don’t work on Hoopa!"
"Because Hoopa’s skin is just as thick as Hoopa is strong!"
Hoopa dusted the meteorite ash off its face and adjusted the angle of the ring.
This time—
Rayquaza finally appeared on the other side.
It was curled around a small asteroid, its tail wrapped around a meteorite fragment as it casually fed the stone into its mouth.
Its expression was incredibly relaxed.
It looked like someone leisurely eating potato chips.
"Green Dragon! We brought you snacks!"
Hoopa cupped both hands around its mouth and shouted through the ring.
Rayquaza paused.
It slowly turned its head.
When it saw Elaria and Hoopa waving at it from the other side of the ring, it brought its enormous head closer.
At this point, Rayquaza couldn’t even be bothered protesting the nickname Green Dragon anymore.
Asher had come up with it, after all.
Rayquaza had already been called that for years.
"Green Dragon, Elaria brought twice as much this time."
Elaria pulled a pile of meteorite fragments out of her bag.
"But Daddy said you ate too many in one sitting last time and needed three whole days to digest them."
"So this time, you have to eat them in batches. No more than three a day."
Rayquaza’s eyes immediately lit up.
Its huge head moved right in front of Elaria, mouth wide open.
Its expression looked uncannily like a Snorlax waiting to be fed.
"Green Dragon is being so good!"
Elaria placed a meteorite fragment into Rayquaza’s mouth.
Then she stood on her tiptoes and gently stroked the underside of its chin.
Rayquaza closed its eyes.
A deeply satisfied rumbling sound came from its throat, sounding almost like an enormous engine running.
[VIP Chat Group]
[Wallace]: Am I seeing this right? Rayquaza is actually sitting there with its mouth open waiting to be fed? And it’s even closing its eyes while Elaria scratches its chin? Is that really Rayquaza?
[Steven]: What’s so surprising about that? What’s wrong with Brother Asher’s daughter scratching Rayquaza’s chin? Rayquaza itself doesn’t mind, so why do you?
[Leon]: I’m more interested in the part where they said it "needed three whole days to digest them." Where exactly did Asher get meteorite fragments capable of giving Rayquaza indigestion?
[Raihan]: At this point, whenever something has anything to do with Asher, just assume it came from either "the depths of the universe" or "Arceus." Saves us from having to act shocked every single time.
[Lance]: ...The mighty ruler of the skies is being hand-fed by a little girl, and it’s even making that satisfied expression.
[Bruno]: Lance, the jealousy in your voice is practically spilling out of the screen.
[Lance]: What am I jealous of? What could I possibly be jealous of?!
[Clair]: Cousin, haven’t you been screen-recording this entire time?
[Lance]: ...Clair, haven’t you been talking a little too much today?
[Gary]: So how many Legendary Pokémon does Asher actually have connections with? No matter which lifetime we’re looking at, he seems to know a ton of them. Is there seriously no version of Asher that’s a little more normal?
[Steven]: Brother Asher isn’t an ordinary person. He’s a god.
[Wallace]: Steven, your wording is ridiculously dramatic, but logically speaking... I actually can’t refute it.
[Asher]: Steven, don’t spread superstitious nonsense. Dealing with Legendary Pokémon really isn’t that difficult.
[Lance]: Then, Mr. Asher, could you explain how one goes about establishing a relationship with Rayquaza?
[Asher]: Easy. Feed it a few times.
[Lance]: ...
The video continued playing.
"Green Dragon, Elaria wants to make a new movie called The Dragon-Riding Princess."
Elaria blinked her golden eyes.
"Diancie will play the princess, and you’ll play the princess’s mount. Is that okay?"
Rayquaza swallowed the meteorite fragment in its mouth.
Then it lowered its head and stared at Elaria.
A mount?
It—the mighty Rayquaza, ruler of the skies and sovereign of the ozone layer—had actually fallen so far that someone wanted it to become a mount?
Rayquaza opened its mouth and let out a deep roar.
Hoopa immediately translated.
"Green Dragon says—you’ll need to add more meteorite fragments."
Elaria blinked.
Then she reached into her backpack, pulled out two more meteorite fragments, and placed them on Rayquaza’s other claw.
Rayquaza stuffed both fragments into its mouth at once.
It chewed twice—
Then let out a satisfied rumble.
Hoopa translated again.
"Green Dragon agreed! It wants to know when filming starts!"
Hearing that, Lillie turned toward Elaria.
"Elaria, we’ve already recruited quite a few Legendary Pokémon. If we want to make this movie properly, we’ll need more actors to support the story."
"So I think it would be better to return and discuss everything with Chairman Asher first."
Elaria tilted her head and thought about it.
Then she nodded seriously.
"Big Sister Lillie is right. Let’s go back to the Cultural Department first."
...
TL: I just realized I forgot to put "Worm" in Rayquaza’s nickname, "Green Worm Dragon," and have been using "Green Dragon" this whole time... Oh well, I’m too lazy to change it.
