Yu Zhizhi was about to enter the side hall when she paused. "...What happened to him?"

Black Crow sighed softly. "It would be best for you to see for yourself, miss. As a subordinate, it’s not my place to speak ill of him behind his back. Ali, go and prepare dinner."

The female from the Bee Clan bowed and excused herself. "Yes."

Yu Zhizhi pursed her lips. "Am I to go to the main hall? I don’t think that’s a good idea. The Lord Leader doesn’t like me getting too close to him."

The black crow opened its beak, organizing its thoughts. "It’s alright. He’s still asleep."

"Oh..."

Seeing how truly anxious Black Crow was, Yu Zhizhi followed it to the main hall. She was wearing a white robe from the Holy Temple, which protected her from the cold.

Just as it was the first time she had come here, eerie green flames flickered all around. Directly opposite was a giant skeleton, and atop its throne, a figure could be vaguely discerned.

Yu Zhizhi stepped through the doors of the hall, but her raised foot froze in mid-air.

She stared in astonishment at the floor, which was covered in white spider silk, leaving almost no place to stand. The entire hall resembled a colossal spider’s nest, the dense silks nearly obscuring the skeleton entirely.

Swallowing hard, Yu Zhizhi slowly lowered her foot.

She stepped onto the thick, matted spider silk.

The black crow followed closely behind the young female. It flapped its wings, but just as it was about to speak, a web shot out and swiftly ensnared it.

Yu Zhizhi’s situation was much the same. The instant she entered the hall, sticky spider silks had wound around her entire body. She struggled with a muffled grunt, but the more she fought, the tighter the silks pulled.

’What is happening?’

She looked at Black Crow, her eyes asking the question for her.

The black crow pecked the spider silk away with its sharp beak. "Leader Louis and the Paradise Leader are fighting."

"...In here?"

"Yes."

Bound by the spider silk, Yu Zhizhi couldn’t move. She looked up toward the top of the giant skeleton. The figure seated there was also covered in silk, its face nearly impossible to make out.

The black crow knew Miss Turtle and Rabbit might not fully understand what it meant.

So, it explained in more detail. "When the body falls asleep, all the personalities can appear in the subconscious at the same time. Normally, they coexist peacefully. After all, they reached an agreement over a decade ago."

"But today..."

The black crow’s voice grew increasingly shrill as the spider silk constricted around it.

"Lord Lou is furious. He’s started a fight with Lord Paradise."

"They haven’t been like this for over ten years. In the past, even though Lord Lou would throw tantrums, they were usually more like harmless pranks—"

"Sigh... I don’t know why they couldn’t come to an understanding this time. If they keep fighting like this, it will be mutually destructive."

Black Crow was extremely worried.

Yu Zhizhi’s body was tightly bound by the silk. She tried to lift an arm, but the strands were matted together, forming ropes as thick as hemp that coiled around her limbs, waist, and chest. Her breathing grew labored—

"Then... how do we stop them?"

Even though she couldn’t see them.

But the vast main hall was already completely covered in spider silk, a clear sign of the battle’s intensity.

"We have to wake up the Lord Leader."

The black crow looked toward the throne high atop the skeleton. "Miss Turtle and Rabbit, I must ask you to climb up there and find a way to awaken the Lord Leader’s body."

The entire hall was like a frozen spider’s nest.

If this wasn’t stopped, the silk would continue to spread beyond the hall. Such a reckless expenditure of spiritual power would very likely cause a backlash that would harm the body. Black Crow was terrified, which was why it had sought out the young female whom all the Lord Leaders adored.

It placed all its hope on her.

Yu Zhizhi had little strength to begin with, and now she was completely immobile. "I can’t. I can’t move."

As if sensing captured prey, the more she struggled, the tighter the silk became.

The black crow could no longer speak.

Its entire body was covered in silk, transforming it from a black crow into a white Mummy. It looked like a statue.

Yu Zhizhi could only hear its muffled struggles—

The great hall suddenly fell silent.

It was as if she were the only one left.

Yu Zhizhi mustered all her strength and managed to shuffle her right foot forward a tiny step. The silk instantly tightened, and she let out a low cry of pain.

Instantly, her eyes welled with tears.

’It hurts so much...’

The silk seemed to have a life of its own, ready to devour any intruder.

’Is it just my imagination?’

In just a few moments, even more white silk had appeared in the hall, forming a thick layer like a blanket of silver snow.

It even seemed to be spreading outward...

Yu Zhizhi didn’t dare to move. After a moment of hesitation, her fingers slowly reached out to touch the silk.

In that instant, the bonds around her body seemed to loosen slightly.

A hint of surprise flashed in Yu Zhizhi’s eyes. She slowly and gently took hold of the sticky, thick, tangled white silks. As she gripped them, she could feel a faint tremor run through the hall.

With a little bit of slack, Black Crow, though still tightly bound, was able to get its voice out. "It’s getting better, it’s getting better!"

It didn’t know what Miss Turtle and Rabbit had done, but it seemed to be working!

Yu Zhizhi swallowed.

She tried to continue stroking the silk gently, as if she were soothing its master through the strands.

’This isn’t enough.’

Yu Zhizhi knew she had to find a way to get closer to the figure on the high throne.

She tried to walk forward. The silk was still wrapped around her ankles, but it no longer pulled with the same force that had threatened to snap her limbs.

Black Crow’s eyes were finally revealed.

It saw.

In the great, web-filled nest of the hall, a petite figure was slowly approaching the giant skeleton.

The young woman wore a sacred white robe, a few strands of spider silk tangled in her dark hair. These deadly weapons, capable of strangling any living thing, hung gently on the young female, appearing impossibly docile.

Yu Zhizhi reached the base of the giant skeleton.

She looked up, craning her neck as far as it would go, just to see the dark green figure.

Normally, she would never have been able to climb this skeleton.

But now, covered as it was in a dense layer of silk, she could grip the webbing, find footholds in the gaps, and slowly climb her way up.

Fortunately, she still had a little spiritual power.

Although this bit of spiritual power was useless in a fight, it was enough to support her body as she climbed toward the high throne.

A smile touched Yu Zhizhi’s face. She had finally made it.

"L-Lou..."

She panted softly, exhausted from the effort.

The black crow was so moved it was on the verge of tears—

’I knew it!’

’Miss Turtle and Rabbit could do it!’

’But, doesn’t this also mean that even while the Lord Leader is asleep, his subconscious can recognize this young female?’

Step by step, Yu Zhizhi approached the throne embedded in the giant skeleton.

The Lord of Paradise’s body was covered in webbing, as if coated in a layer of frost. His eyes were closed in silence, as though he had been asleep for a millennium.

The Spider’s nest, the giant skeleton, the delicate young woman... she slowly raised her hand and touched the sticky silk on the man’s pale face.

Little by little, she brushed it away.
