The cabin contained various seasonings left by the previous resident.
After bringing the water to a boil, Tang Luo Ke carefully told the salt from the sugar. Once sure, he sprinkled in some salt and cracked the ostrich egg he had snatched into the pot.
When the mushroom soup was ready, he ladled out a bowl and brought it to the little rabbit.
Yu Zhizhi sat up and took the soup bowl with both hands.
"Thank you, Tang."
In the dim room, the firelight by the door flickered. Tang Luo Ke leaned against the dilapidated wall, his gaze dark.
"You were willing to throw your life away for that Spider?"
Tang Luo Ke’s voice suddenly broke the silence.
Yu Zhizhi sipped the bland mushroom and egg soup, the warm liquid spreading through her stomach. When she heard Tang Luo Ke’s words, she froze for a moment.
’But... I do want to live.’
Tang Luo Ke’s tone had a jealous edge. "When a male undergoes Beastification, his Strength increases more than a hundredfold. Either of us, with one careless move, could have crushed you to a pulp. And you still dared to get close? Do you like him that much?"
In the Void Domain, blind with bloodlust, Tang Luo Ke had seen her approaching through a mist of blood.
His heart had pounded wildly, and he’d had to desperately suppress his murderous urges to keep from attacking her.
The memory alone made him break out in a cold sweat.
Yu Zhizhi clutched the soup bowl with both hands. She was silent for a moment before whispering, "I’m sorry..."
’I wasn’t thinking about all that at the time.’
If she hadn’t stopped their fight quickly, Lou would have disappeared. And if she had let them continue, either Tang or Lou would have ended up in serious trouble.
"I didn’t want to see you two destroy each other..." Yu Zhizhi said, her head bowed, her nails picking at the edge of the warm bowl. "Tang, I want you to be okay."
Yu Zhizhi looked up at the young man by the wall, and her expression suddenly froze—
Tang Luo Ke was leaning against the wall, his eyes slightly closed and his face ashen. Perhaps because of his severe injuries and weakened spiritual power, he could no longer suppress his Beast Form—
A pair of black wolf ears had appeared amidst his short black hair, and a fluffy wolf tail drooped down behind him.
At that moment, his brow was slightly furrowed, his thin lips stubbornly pressed into a straight line.
Yu Zhizhi stared at him in a daze.
Male Beastmen in the Beast World rarely revealed their Beast Form. Most of the time, it was impossible to identify their clan with the naked eye.
After watching him for a moment, she realized Tang Luo Ke seemed to be in great pain. She quickly put down her bowl and walked over to him.
Hearing her footsteps, Tang Luo Ke wearily lifted his eyelids. He turned his head away, looking like he was still sulking and waiting to be placated.
Her sweet scent soon washed over him, and he felt a gentle tug on his robe.
Tang Luo Ke snorted and ignored her.
"You’re injured. Go lie down for a bit," Yu Zhizhi said, taking his wrist in both her hands and pulling him toward the mattress.
Tang Luo Ke’s body shifted, and he allowed her to pull him along.
He looked down, his resentful gaze fixed on her.
’Damn little liar.’
’On B13 Floor, he’d thought countless times about how he was going to give her a good thrashing when he saw her—yep, a spanking.’
They soon reached the gray mattress, and Tang Luo Ke lay down.
The spot was still warm; it was where she had been lying just before.
Tang Luo Ke’s brow furrowed even tighter. His whole body was burning up, and his wounds began to send out stabs of sharp pain, as if countless venomous insects were gnawing at him.
Yu Zhizhi nervously clutched his hand. His body was burning up, yet his palm was unnaturally cold.
She tried to channel her spiritual power and found that her Healing Ability hadn’t disappeared yet.
"Tang, I’ll treat your wounds first."
Practice had made her adept, but her spiritual power was low. She could only perform a basic treatment on the most gruesome wound on his chest.
A soft white Light flowed from her fingertips, slowly enveloping the scar on the Wolf Clan male’s chest. Tang Luo Ke’s tightly knitted brow relaxed a little. He opened his eyes and gazed at the girl’s innocent face behind the white Light, his heart stirring.
His fingers, lying at his side, twitched. The wound wasn’t as painful as before. Under her Healing, Tang Luo Ke’s perpetually taut nerves slowly began to unwind.
’So tired.’
’From the moment he’d arrived in Paradise, he had fought all the way to the final competition.’
’To defeat the Lord of Paradise, he had nearly exhausted his hundreds of thousands of points of spiritual power.’
’Even so, a wolf would never fall asleep so easily.’
But Tang Luo Ke’s eyelids felt heavy. His thoughts sank, bit by bit, into darkness, and he gradually lost consciousness.
Yu Zhizhi slowly pulled her hand back. ’The Healing Skill is very useful, but I don’t have enough spiritual power.’
She slowly lifted a corner of the covers and slipped inside.
A system notification suddenly sounded in her mind—
[Ding! Congratulations, Host, for successfully treating a Beastman seriously injured by an Extremely Dark Fallen Species. You have been awarded an extra 100 Experience Points!]
[Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have triggered the reward for a third time. A mysterious gift has been dispatched. Please check for it!]
Huh?!
Yu Zhizhi had completely forgotten about that!
This was an extra benefit from the Disguise Talent Card. She had previously treated Xiong Xiong’s younger brother and a young Mantis Clan boy, receiving Experience Points both times.
The system had been reminding her that she would receive a mysterious gift after accumulating three such rewards.
Yu Zhizhi opened her system inventory, found the newly acquired gift pack, and unlocked it. A golden emblem materialized before her eyes.
The word [Healing] was engraved on the emblem.
A line of transparent text floated beneath it.
[Talent: Healing]
[Note: Touch to bind this talent (permanent). You will also be rewarded with one Talent Atlas.]
Yu Zhizhi was still working toward the Evolution talent from the Camp Task, so this was an incredible surprise!
She hurriedly asked the system in her mind—
’If I bind the Healing Talent, can I still awaken the Evolution Talent later?’
Evolution was an incredibly Rare talent that could reshape a Beastman’s very Beast Bones.
All of Yu Zhizhi’s thoughts were on Little Amon.
He was the only sickly one among the cubs. ’I wonder how he’s doing now.’
[System: Yes. On the Beast World Planet, this is known as a dual talent. It is more likely to appear in males; it is extremely Rare among females.]
Yu Zhizhi was overjoyed to get an affirmative answer.
Her previous Healing Ability had a time limit and would disappear when time was up, just like her disguise as a female from the Turtle Clan.
’I can’t believe completing a hidden task rewarded me with the talent itself!’
Yu Zhizhi’s finger lightly touched the floating golden emblem.
A prompt box popped up, asking if she wanted to bind it.
She selected [Yes].
In an instant, a surge of power flowed into her body. The golden emblem gradually transformed into a golden Ancient Book, with the words *Talent Atlas* written on the cover.
Turning to the first page, the words [Healing System] greeted her eyes.
Below that was the Host’s personal information.
[Name: Yu Zhizhi]
[Talent: Healing]
[Rank: Basic-level Healer]
[Note: Rank is assessed quarterly. Successful promotion grants a large amount of Experience Points.]
’With this ability’s help, I’ll be able to reach max level much faster, right?’
Yu Zhizhi pursed her lips slightly and placed the Talent Atlas into her inventory.
She couldn’t help but turn her head to look at Tang Luo Ke beside her. He was sound asleep, but his wolf ears twitched lightly, as if he were dreaming.
