A group of people arrived outside the door. They wore deep red uniforms with badges bearing the "Valoran" insignia pinned to their chests.

The young man leading them had brown hair and a gentle smile.

"Ms. Zhi Zhi, please open the door. We are the Imperial Delegation."

’It really is the Delegation.’

Tang Luo Ke had told her before he left that the Delegation would arrive soon. Yu Zhizhi gently pulled the door open. Seeing the young man at the entrance bowing to her, she slowly returned the gesture.

"Lord Locke said in his letter that we should take you to the ship first. We’ll rendezvous with him at the next port once he’s recovered." The brown-haired young man’s voice was gentle. "Miss, as you know, it isn’t safe here. The Lord of Paradise could show up at any time."

Yu Zhizhi nodded. "Okay. Just a moment, let me grab my things."

In truth, she didn’t have much to pack. She just put the daily necessities the Mercenary Squad had sent her back into their box.

When she got to the door, the brown-haired young man naturally took the box from her.

The Delegation’s party consisted of fifteen people in total.

They all stood respectfully to one side.

After coming outside, Yu Zhizhi followed the young man leading the group. She couldn’t help but glance back at the small wooden cabin she had lived in for so long. The glow of the fire flickered through the crack in the door.

The cabin was well-hidden within the deep, dense forest.

Yu Zhizhi looked in the direction Tang Luo Ke had gone, walking very, very slowly. ’If only I could see him coming back right now.’

However, she didn’t dare to linger.

She was afraid the Lord of Paradise would find her, which would be a disaster.

The Delegation traveled south from the Sad Dragon Cave. They had traversed this secluded path before and rarely encountered any other factions.

The Mercenary Squad, which had been keeping an eye on the safe house, immediately reported the situation to Cheetah.

It appeared to be the Valoran Empire’s Delegation.

Then there shouldn’t be any problem.

Cheetah, his voice ruined as if he’d swallowed a knife, could no longer speak. He made a hand gesture, signaling them to keep following until Ms. Zhi Zhi was out of the Sad Dragon Cave’s territory.

This was to ensure that absolutely nothing went wrong.

After all, no one knew where Lord Locke had gone.

The Sad Dragon Cave was extremely dangerous. Just last night, the roars of monsters had echoed until dawn, but no one had dared to investigate.

Past the dense forest that towered high enough to obscure the moon, a wide expanse of sea opened up before them.

This was the South Shore of Puro Bay, and a warship was moored up ahead.

The brown-haired young man walked ahead. Before she boarded, he turned to the side and made an inviting gesture.

The Mouse Clan Beastman tailing them hid behind a large tree, watching as the Rabbit Clan Lady boarded the warship—one that had been decommissioned and converted for entertainment.

He wondered to himself, ’Doesn’t the Valoran Delegation always travel by land? Why choose the sea route for the return trip? Aren’t they afraid of running into the Deep Sea Empire’s forces?’

Yu Zhizhi stepped onto the gangplank and slowly made her way aboard the towering warship.

When she reached the deck, the scene before her made her freeze—

It looked as if a banquet had just been held, with remnants of festivities scattered about. But now, it was deserted. The entire deck was covered in blood, and a group of unidentified people were scrubbing the stains with disinfectant.

They showed no reaction to the sudden appearance of the Rabbit Clan girl, remaining focused on their work.

Yu Zhizhi turned around. "Um..."

The brown-haired young man had already taken off his red jacket. He unpinned the badge, gave Yu Zhizhi a smile, and then walked straight ahead.

The sun was setting, casting a dance of light and shadow. In a room up ahead, Yu Zhizhi saw the sturdy silhouette of a man with his back to her.

After approaching the man, the brown-haired young man dropped to one knee. "My lord, we have brought Ms. Zhi Zhi. What are your orders for her?"

At these words, Yu Zhizhi’s eyes flew wide. Her first instinct was to run!

But it was already too late!

The "Delegation" behind her raised their arms to block her path. Her escape was completely cut off; there was no way off this warship.

"A prisoner of the Empire... how should we handle her?" the man’s deep voice was rich and magnetic, laced with a faint smile.

The brown-haired young man bowed his head. "I understand, my lord."

The door closed.

The brown-haired young man, now dressed in clerical robes, approached her. His face held a trace of apology. "I’m very sorry, Ms. Zhi Zhi. From this moment on, you are a prisoner of the Deep Sea Empire. You are to live in the storeroom, just like the other slaves."

He lifted a finger, and the other Beastmen behind him led Yu Zhizhi away to the storeroom.

When Yu Zhizhi heard the three words "Deep Sea Empire," all the color drained from her face.

After the alliance meeting in the Paradise Temple, she had gained a much clearer understanding of the discordant relations between the empires.

Given her status, being captured by the Deep Sea Empire likely meant her chances of survival were slim...

With her head bowed, she walked slowly into the grain storeroom. It wasn’t large, but she was the only one inside.

The door behind her closed, and the entire room fell into dead silence.

Yu Zhizhi slumped against the door, staring blankly at the tips of her feet.

"My lord," the brown-haired heretic reported as usual. "The Rabbit Clan Lady has been locked up. What are your instructions?"

’Lord Shen He went to such great lengths to capture the Rabbit Clan Lady. He can’t have done it all just to make her a prisoner, can he?’

"Keep her locked up for two days."

"Yes..."

"Did she cry?"

The heretic paused at Lord Shen He’s question, then recalled, "I don’t believe she did."

The Rabbit Clan Lady’s expression changed when she heard "Deep Sea Empire," but she didn’t break down in tears.

Shen He laughed. "Let’s see how long she can hold out."

Yu Zhizhi remained locked in the storeroom. Someone brought her meals at the same time every day.

Other than that, no one came to see her.

Though she couldn’t see outside, she could tell from the swaying of the ship that the warship was now sailing on the open sea.

She was now very, very far from the Sad Dragon Cave...

Imprisoned, Yu Zhizhi had no way to contact the outside world, nor did she know anything about Tang Luo Ke’s condition.

「Three days later.」

The brown-haired heretic appeared again.

After he opened the door, two servants slipped into the storeroom and fitted Yu Zhizhi with shackles on her ankles and wrists.

"Our lord will see you now." The brown-haired young man’s voice was as gentle as ever.

Yu Zhizhi looked down at the chains on her wrists. She moved slowly, the long chain dragging along the floor with a dull, heavy sound.

’I’m finally out...’

On deck, she could see several other captured slaves. With their hands and feet bound, they stood lined up against a wall.

Some were male, others female.

Yu Zhizhi kept her head down, following the young heretic until they slowly arrived outside the door of the room she had seen earlier.

"My lord, she is here."

After the announcement, the young man pushed the door open and motioned for Yu Zhizhi to enter on her own.

He watched as the frail Rabbit Clan Lady slowly stepped inside.

A look of pity crossed the young heretic’s face.

’She’s an S-Class female of the Empire, yet she’s been reduced to a female slave. Lord Shen He is truly ruthless.’

The young man slowly closed the door.

Yu Zhizhi had been exceptionally nervous from the moment she stepped into the room. She cowered as she shuffled forward. The room was small and windowless, with a single dim, yellow oil lamp on the ceiling that swayed with the ship’s movement.

The sound of running water from the bathroom stopped.

A man who had just finished bathing stepped out. His tall, rugged frame instantly made the small room feel suffocatingly cramped.
