"She will agree," Shen He said, his tone utterly arrogant. "Perhaps one day, Miss Rabbit will come crying and begging me."

Outside the door, Yu Zhizhi shivered when she heard the words "Miss Rabbit."

’The shark often called her that...’

’Could it be...’

’No way!’

’Doesn’t he despise the Valoran Empire? And I’m from Valoran, no matter how you look at it. How could he possibly want to marry me?’

A sneer played on Shen He’s lips. "Go on, keep this up. You finally escaped the Glacier, so go hide in your undersea world and be a numb royal puppet for the rest of your life."

"Then again, you already have an heir, so I suppose your life is complete."

"Naturally, you don’t need to worry whether Miss Rabbit lives or dies."

Shen He’s tone was utterly scathing and his words were sharp. He showed no concern that the guards at the door were witnessing a farce among nobility.

Yusen slowly clenched his fists.

In that moment, a flood of memories came to him.

He thought of Zero Star Street, of her cheerful voice as she spoke with the Duke. He thought of Divine Gift Mansion, of the suggestive gasps coming from inside the room. He thought of the final match at Paradise, of Tang Luo Ke holding her in his arms. He thought of the end in the domain, of the girl crying as she kissed the monstrous Spider...

’There were so many people by her side.’

’Even without him.’

’She would be just fine.’

’To Zhi Zhi, he was just a less-than-beautiful interlude.’

’Nothing special.’

"...She will be happy."

Yusen murmured.

The words weren’t a rebuttal; they were more for himself.

They were his blessing.

The youth turned and started to walk away.

Shen He let out a low chuckle, a shadow falling over his sharp, deep-set features. "Can you guarantee that some other male will take good care of Miss Rabbit?"

"If one day, she falls into my hands—"

The smile on the shark’s lips twisted into a predatory grin. "I’ll toy with her until she breaks!"

Outside the door, Buli’s eyes widened in astonishment.

’Ahhh! Lord Shen He, don’t say such things! Miss Rabbit is right there listening!’

’She’ll hate you if you talk like that!’

Sure enough, Buli glanced over and saw the little rabbit in her Beast Form, who was hiding by the railing, tremble violently. She had clearly heard Lord Shen He’s unfiltered words. The little white rabbit shrank further into the corner, cowering by the threshold and trembling uncontrollably.

At that very instant, Yusen, who had almost left the Political Hall, spun around. A ferocious glint erupted from the depths of his eyes. In a flash, Ice Qi exploded outwards, freezing the entire hall. An ice pillar shot from Yusen’s palm, piercing straight through the other man’s right eye!

At the front of the Political Hall, Shen He’s imperious posture remained unchanged. His pierced right eye and the surrounding cheek were a mangled, bloody mess from which fresh blood spurted.

And yet, a fervent smile appeared on the man’s face—

The young man looked as if he had emerged from a frozen hell. A layer of frost coated his short brown hair, and his body began to tremble violently. Cold air drifted from his ice-blue pupils, and his every breath came out as a white, frosty mist.

In that single instant, upon hearing Shen He’s words, it was as if an invisible, giant hand had seized his heart and crushed it...

Waves of unprecedented pain washed over him. Yusen stared daggers at the provocative shark before him.

"If you dare to hurt her, I will kill you."

Shen He pulled the ice pillar from his face. New flesh slowly regenerated over his mangled right cheek. "You want to kill me? You’re not worthy."
