Pregnant Bunny, Obsessed Beast Husbands
Chapter 279: "Carry a Shark Cub... Hmm?Shen He took down the oil lamp hanging by the door.
He slowly entered the room and walked over to the little female.
Yu Zhizhi watched as a small, warm-yellow oil lamp was placed on the floor in front of her. Seeing the sliver of light put her heart at ease a little.
"Thank you, Lord Shen He."
Yu Zhizhi picked up the small oil lamp and stood up, only to see that the man before her had no intention of leaving.
Only then did she realize that the door had somehow been closed.
A knot of nervousness suddenly formed in her chest.
Shen He took a step forward, and Yu Zhizhi retreated until the backs of her calves hit the edge of the bed, causing her to fall into a sitting position.
"What are you panicking for?" Shen He’s tone held a hint of a light chuckle. He bent down, took the oil lamp from the little female’s hands, and placed it on a nearby table.
Shen He slowly crouched down, his eyes fixed on the little rabbit’s dazed eyes. He raised a hand and gently touched her cheek. "Staring at me like that... are you hoping I’ll do something to you?"
Yu Zhizhi quickly shut her eyes.
She shook her head.
Her hands clutched the hem of her light-colored nightgown. "Lord Shen He, I need to rest."
"Little liar."
There wasn’t a trace of sleepiness on her face.
Shen He sat down beside her. Before Yu Zhizhi could react, the man’s arm snaked around her waist, pulling her forcefully into his embrace.
Yu Zhizhi found herself sitting on his lap, her gaze growing more flustered. "I... Yusen and I..."
"Don’t use him as a shield."
Shen He pinched her jaw, forcing her to look up. "Your marriage—if I don’t nod my head, it won’t happen. Understand?"
"...But didn’t you already agree?" Yu Zhizhi’s voice was so quiet it was barely audible.
’I remember it correctly, don’t I?’
That day, at the Healing center, Shen He had said it himself—that they should get married as soon as they returned from the Chelsea Territory.
Although...
Yu Zhizhi hadn’t figured out what to do about everything that was supposed to happen afterward.
The little rabbit’s words made Shen He choke slightly.
’Right, he had agreed.’
’So what?’
’The wedding hasn’t happened, so they’re still unmarried.’
Yu Zhizhi could only feel the shark’s gaze turn grim. She wanted to hide, but he had her under his control, leaving her nowhere to run.
The cozy room suddenly felt cramped and suffocating because of Shen He’s presence.
She felt the man’s calloused thumb gently caressing her lips. Her eyes darted away, and her breathing became extremely labored.
Shen He found the little female to be unbelievably soft. Held in his arms like this, her warm breath ghosting over his knuckles, it tickled something deep inside him, a slow, spreading itch.
Outside the door, a storm was raging.
Inside, the warm yellow oil lamp on the table cast an ambiguous, hazy glow.
"No..."
Yu Zhizhi’s voice was thick and nasal, which at first listen, sounded like she was whining coquettishly.
Shen He laughed and pecked her on the lips. "Saying ’no’ when you’re already this wet? Or do you want me to do you in your wedding dress later?"
Yu Zhizhi’s cheeks flushed crimson. She viciously bit down on his shoulder.
But Shen He simply took a soft silk ribbon and wrapped it around and around her wrists.
The corners of the little female’s eyes were red. "I’m pregnant..."
"Mm, I know." Shen He stood up, effortlessly flipping her over. "Don’t rabbits have two uteruses? Getting pregnant with another one shouldn’t be hard for you, right?"
Yu Zhizhi shivered.
Shen He’s eyes gradually darkened. He had used protection last time, but thinking back on it now, it seemed like a completely unnecessary precaution.
Just the thought of the little female carrying a Mermaid’s cub in her belly made his chest burn as if scorched by fire.
At Black Tide Harbor, the storm raged on.
In the darkness, the shark indulged in his prey as Yu Zhizhi’s consciousness slowly faded.
At the very end, she vaguely heard the shark’s low murmur in her ear, "Carry a little shark cub for me... hm?"
...*Sobs*.
「The next day.」
The storm had ended, and sunlight streamed through the round window, spilling onto the bed. Yu Zhizhi slowly woke up to find herself held tightly in the man’s arms.
She shifted slightly, and he woke up.
His short, silver-gray hair was messy, and his deep-set features held a trace of drowsiness. Completely ignoring her need to get up, he pulled the little rabbit even tighter and buried his face in the hollow of her collarbone.
"Good morning."
The man’s voice was both hoarse and sexy.
Yu Zhizhi’s face turned completely red.
’That damn shark.’ He was still toying with her sensitive rabbit tail with his fingertips. She let out an involuntary little cry, only to hear the man’s muffled, husky laugh.
*Whimper—*
Yu Zhizhi’s rabbit ears drooped, as if trying to hide herself away.
Shen He lazily raised his gray eyes, his tone filled with the sated pleasure of someone who had eaten their fill. "Rest a little longer. There’s nothing much to do today anyway."
With that, he rolled out of bed.
Soldiers were patrolling the corridor outside.
When they saw Lord Shen He emerge from Miss Rabbit’s room, they nearly dropped their weapons.
At the end of the corridor, a Tiger Whale Soldier’s eyes went wide—
’Lord Shen He and Ms. Zhi Zhi!’
’They’re together?!’
’AHHHH!’
’This is huge! It’s great news!’
’Long live the Empire! Long live Lord Shen He!’
Shen He leaned against the door and pulled on his military boots. He then strode toward the deck as if no one else was there, and anyone could see that he was in an excellent mood.
"My lord." Sea Snake Siqi came to stand before him, the young man’s face grim. "The Chelsea Territory is just as we thought—it’s been overrun by smugglers. And... it seems there are some in our army as well."
Shen He looked over at him. "When does the detection equipment arrive?"
"Two more days."
In the planet’s history, other outsiders had appeared before. They were habitually called "smugglers." It meant that these people, who had snuck in from other worlds, were like rats who couldn’t bear the light of day.
Si Qi looked troubled. "If the equipment detects smugglers in our army, what do we do?"
The Hanhai Army was supposed to be as impenetrable as a fortress. To think that smugglers had managed to infiltrate it.
The thought that the comrades he spent every day with might be something else entirely...
Si Qi’s heart ached at the possibility.
Shen He sneered. "Once they’re detected, I don’t care what their sob story is. There’s no need to listen to any of their excuses. Execute them on the spot."
He loathed all smugglers.
"For every one that comes, we kill one." Shen He’s gray eyes stared at the brilliant golden sun in the distance. "We’ll keep killing them until they don’t dare to come anymore."
Si Qi’s expression hardened with resolve. "Yes, sir!"
Not far away, Yu Zhizhi, who had overheard their conversation, turned deathly pale.
’A detection device?!’
’It’s not going to... expose me, is it?’
’Ah, it seems like the system isn’t reliable after all.’
’Otherwise, there’s no way that Prophet would have known my identity.’
’This is bad...’
Yu Zhizhi’s heart hammered in her chest. She had to find a way to leave, and fast.
A soldier saw her and assumed she was there to check on Buli. "Healing Officer Miss, Officer Buli’s injuries have improved. He was out of bed first thing this morning. He’s not in his room right now."
"He left in a hurry, and he looked a bit strange, as if he were going to meet someone."
Just then, Yu Zhizhi heard a crisp DING in her mind.
