Pregnant Bunny, Obsessed Beast Husbands
Chapter 313: Always Waiting for Her"What is it?" The Little Octopus poked his head over curiously.
Yu Zhizhi took hold of one of his tentacles, pulling him in. "Can I see your Beast Bone?"
"Oh, sure."
The Little Octopus draped himself over the chair, his body soft and limp. He actually hated being touched by others, especially when they wanted to examine his Beast Bone—
’What was there to examine? No matter how many times they checked, it was always the same.’
But after spending so much time with the little rabbit, he wasn’t as bothered by it. Besides, he knew the little rabbit was a Healer, so he just let her be.
Yu Zhizhi stroked the Little Octopus’s tentacle, then placed her palm over his head. Gently extending her spiritual power, she saw it: inside his body, the Beast Bone was like a dead branch, without the slightest trace of life.
She froze for a moment.
The Little Octopus, however, was nonchalantly playing with his own tentacles. "See? Hopeless, isn’t it? I’ve been like this since I was born. The one with the Bright Moon Divine Position from the Deep Sea came to check on me, but it was useless."
Deep Sea...
There was indeed someone who held the Bright Moon Divine Position.
But even the Bright Moon Divine Position wasn’t omnipotent.
Cases like the Little Octopus’s had been officially deemed incapable of Evolution.
So... Yu Zhizhi started to understand. This must be why the Little Octopus’s spiritual power was only at eight hundred. On the Beast World Planet, it was impossible for a male’s spiritual power to be that low, not even for a newborn cub.
"Maybe it just needs the right trigger?" Yu Zhizhi didn’t know how to comfort him, so she spoke her thoughts aloud. "Perhaps one day, it’ll sprout after a rainfall."
"Hee hee..." The Little Octopus grinned.
He hummed a little tune from the Deep Sea, grabbed the edge of the window with a tentacle, and slipped back into the pool.
Once he reached the bottom of the pool, the smile vanished from his lips.
He looked at his red tentacles. ’Hmph, so what if my Beast Bone is withered? One day, my spiritual power will explode.’
’And when my spiritual power really does explode, what will I do then?’
’Pick another fight with the little rabbit?’
’Nah, I won’t bully her. I should look out for her instead.’
Yu Zhizhi was still studying the *Bright Moon Diary* when Teacher Dai Li came to the study door. She knocked lightly. "Ms. Zhi Zhi, may I come in?"
Yu Zhizhi put the diary away. "Of course."
Teacher Dai Li entered the room.
A smile touched her lips as she held up a soft measuring tape. "Miss, in half a month, the Cat Clans from Moonrise and Cang Mountain will be visiting Varolan as guests. That will coincide with the annual Level assessment for females in the Imperial City, so it’s time to have a new dress custom-made for you."
S-Class nobles were uniformly tested at the Royal Palace each year.
Combined with the cultural exchange with Cat Clans from other Empires, it was a relatively grand ceremony.
"Mm-hm." Yu Zhizhi nodded, standing up to let Teacher Dai Li take her measurements.
Back when she was with the Hughes family in Varolan, she had heard about this cultural exchange with other branches of the Cat Clan. At the time, she had no leads on her target, so she could only pin her hopes on this ceremony.
She never expected she would find her target ahead of schedule...
Although the system hadn’t notified her of her success yet, the mission no longer felt so pressing.
Once the measurements were done, Dai Li left.
She knew Ms. Zhi Zhi enjoyed studying various Healing Skills during the day. She was, after all, a rare power user among females who had awakened a Healing Talent.
Yu Zhizhi hugged the *Bright Moon Diary* to her chest and studied it for a long time.
Without a mentor, she could only rely on herself to slowly grasp its meaning.
Suddenly, she thought of the temple messenger—
’That young man from the Cat Clan... he gives off the impression that he knows a little about everything. I wonder if he’d have more insight if he saw this diary?’
Yu Zhizhi decided to visit the Divine Hall when she had time.
Besides asking about the diary, she also wanted to take the opportunity to join the Divine Hall Alliance.
Zero seemed very sincere.
If he wasn’t lying, then after joining the Divine Hall, she would be able to see glimpses of her original world and get news of her mother.
So, during her lunch break that day, Yu Zhizhi took out a silver coin.
She entered the Divine Hall Illusion Realm once more.
As soon as she entered, she saw the young man from the Cat Clan sitting across from her at the round table. He was dressed in his usual black formal wear, a white mask concealing his face.
"Zero," she called softly.
Hearing his name, the young man slowly lifted his gaze. He was toying with a silver coin, an item he often used for his divinations.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Zhi Zhi."
It had been three days since their last meeting. In the past, he would only come to the Divine Hall Illusion Realm if someone else was there. The only exception was the full moon when he would wait here for a day and a night. Otherwise, all the chairs around the round table remained empty.
And yet, for the past three days, he had spent nearly all his free time here.
It was as if he were waiting for someone.
Seeing the female from the Rabbit Clan, the young man from the Cat Clan seemed to understand. He had been waiting for her.
Yu Zhizhi stood up from her soft, red chair and said quietly, "I’ve made my decision. I’m willing to join the Divine Hall Alliance."
"Oh...? Are you sure?" The young man from the Cat Clan immediately perked up.
"Yes!"
Above the round table, the menacing talisman cackled. "Miss Rabbit, you’ve made an excellent decision."
Gurgling, it exhaled a dark green mist. A moment later, it spat out a contract, which fluttered down onto the table in front of Yu Zhizhi.
The talisman said, "This is the contract to join the alliance. Please sign it."
The talisman continued, "Our requirements are very simple. Everything that concerns this place must be kept secret and not mentioned to any uninvolved parties."
In Yu Zhizhi’s view, the Divine Hall Alliance was an incredibly mysterious organization. Here in the Beast World, all the Beastmen knew very little about it, but they all treated it with a certain degree of reverence.
Yu Zhizhi picked up the pen, but she couldn’t stop herself from looking at the young man from the Cat Clan sitting across from her. "...Is the apocalypse really coming?"
The white mask worn by the temple messenger was etched with a perpetual smile. "Who knows? Perhaps the world will face its end. But my hope is that as long as you are here, the darkness will never fall."
He hoped this female from the Rabbit Clan could live in a beautiful world forever.
The talisman couldn’t help but glance at its partner—
’What’s going on?’
’Zero’s tone sounds the same as always, and his words are just as "polite," but I can’t shake the feeling that his attitude toward this Rabbit Clan female has subtly changed.’
Yu Zhizhi looked at the Contract Book before her and signed her name.
The ink from the pen quickly transformed, shimmering with golden light.
A white mask appeared to her right.
It was a Divine Hall mask.
"Welcome, No.1 Envoy." The young man from the Cat Clan stood up, placing his right hand across his chest in a slight bow.
"...I’m Number One?"
"Yes." Zero’s voice held a smile. "That number was saved especially for you."
’From the very beginning, the female from the Rabbit Clan was the partner he had most wanted to recruit.’
’The letter had been sent long ago, but he had waited in vain for her arrival.’
’Number Two joining was an accident.’
A third candle on the candelabra atop the table slowly flickered to life. The flame reflected in Yu Zhizhi’s eyes as she murmured, "Could it be... the candles correspond to the number of temple messengers?"
