Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]
Chapter 323 - 324 - Stranger and stranger thingsChapter 323: Chapter 324 - Stranger and stranger things
Hana was fucking spooked by this new guy.
He kept trying to sniff her, and those strange red butterflies were constantly fluttering around him. From the way they followed his movements, it almost looked as though they were obeying his orders.
Hana cautiously looked around, taking in her surroundings once again. It appeared to be an old mall, but strangely enough, it looked much older and more run-down than it should have been. It had only been three months since the apocalypse had begun. There was no way a place could have deteriorated this badly in such a short amount of time.
So how had it ended up like this?
Her eyes once again fell on the strange man standing far too close to her.
He was still sniffing her.
Hana slowly shifted away from him, her expression becoming increasingly confused.
And what exactly was this guy?
"Can you talk?" she asked cautiously. "Nod if you can."
She gently pushed him back a little to create some distance between them.
He didn’t seem particularly dangerous, at least not from what she could tell, so Hana gradually relaxed.
The guy simply frowned and tilted his head to the side.
Hana blinked.
"can you hear me, wow, your ears are twitching so you do...?" She gave him a small grin, trying to figure out how to communicate with him. "I’m Hana. What’s your name?"
The guy stared at her. Then, strangely, he opened his mouth and frowned as he tried to imitate her.
Hana stared at him for a moment before realization dawned on her. "Wow. You really can’t talk..." She immediately straightened, peering at him with renewed interest. "Sorry if I was rude to you before."
She paused, thinking for a moment. "So... you can hear but can’t talk noted?"
Hana slowly moved her mouth, exaggerating each word. "Where are we?"
The guy stared at her lips and then imitated her movements, slowly moving his mouth in exactly the same way she had.
Hana’s expression fell. "Okay. Mouthing doesn’t work. Got it." She rubbed her forehead. "Oh! Let’s try this."
Hana crouched down and used her finger to write on the dirty, moss-covered floor.
Where are we?
She pointed at the words and then looked up at him expectantly.
The guy stared down at the writing. He looked even more confused now.
Hana’s mouth fell open slightly.
Goodness.
This guy didn’t talk, couldn’t understand her, and apparently couldn’t read either.
What the hell...?
She was completely flabbergasted.
Is he uneducated?
The thought immediately felt a little harsh.
She knew she shouldn’t judge him so quickly, especially when she didn’t even know who—or what—he was. But the guy genuinely didn’t seem to know anything.
Not how to speak.
Not how to read.
And apparently, not even how to communicate with another human being.
So... he really was of no help at all.
Hana let out a long sigh. Standing up, she dusted off her hands and glanced around the strange, abandoned mall.
Since there was clearly no point trying to get any answers from him, she decided to explore the place herself.
This place could have been an abandoned mall that had been left untouched even before the apocalypse. But somehow, that didn’t seem to be the case.
Hana’s eyes wandered around the deserted stores before eventually landing on an old poster mounted above one of them. The poster was already rotting, its edges curled and covered with patches of mold, but the words were still barely visible.
2021’s Newest Fall Fashion Is Here.
Hana stared at it for a moment.
Ugh... so this place isn’t that old.
Her brows furrowed.
Then why does it look like this?
Everything about this place was strange.
The mysterious guy.
The red butterflies.
And most of all, the incredible age of the entire building.
It was almost as if the mall had somehow aged far more rapidly than everything around it. The decay inside was far too advanced for a place that shouldn’t have been abandoned for more than a few years, let alone only three months since the apocalypse began.
Hana slowly walked around, searching for anything that might give her some clue about where she was or what had happened here. Unfortunately, she couldn’t find anything useful.
There weren’t even any zombies.
That was strange in itself.
Eventually, she made her way outside to take another look at the surrounding area.
The moment she stepped out, she noticed something even stranger.
The buildings and structures outside didn’t look nearly as old as the mall did. Most of them were still relatively intact, with nothing resembling the extreme decay she had seen inside.
Hana frowned and glanced back at the mall.
That place was seriously strange.
She didn’t want to stay there any longer than necessary.
Even if it meant travelling alone in the apocalypse. With her awakened powers she can handle things alone...
but i need to find Yunfeng....
I need to find a way to contact Yunfeng...
Thinking that, Hana spotted a shovel nearby. She picked it up, gripping it tightly as an improvised weapon before starting to walk away from the mall.
She hadn’t gone very far when suddenly—
A black hole of some sort opened directly in front of her.
Hana’s eyes widened.
"Wait, I don’t want to—"
Before she could even finish her sentence, a familiar pair of pale hands shot out from the darkness and grabbed her.
"No!"
The hands pulled her backward.
In the next second, Hana was dragged straight into the black hole.
Her vision blurred, and when she landed again, she found herself on the same muddy ground inside the mall.
Hana groaned and quickly pushed herself up.
Her eyes immediately landed on the guy.
He was still holding her hand.
She stared at their joined hands before slowly looking up at him.
The guy simply looked back at her with the same curious expression as before, seemingly unable to understand why she was upset.
Hana’s eye twitched.
"Fuck."
