After speaking with Huang Hao and Hua Xianren, Ling Yun took Sheng Ai to Mu Qingya’s room to see his first grandson, Yun Chengxi.

When they arrived, they saw Mu Qingya tucking her son into bed, but Sheng Ai immediately floated towards them. She lay down beside them, looked at Yun Chengxi, and stroked his cheek.

Yun Chengxi was already a month old, but he had no cultivation yet, unlike Ling Yun’s children when they were just born.

"Father." Mu Qingya greeted him.

Ling Yun sat on a chair near the bed and looked at his grandson’s face. "Where did Yun’er go? Why didn’t he accompany you two?"

"My husband went to the entertainment center with Brother Qingfeng and Brother Longhun." Ling Yun didn’t mind that because they were different from him, and they needed entertainment to relieve their boredom. "Father, do you think my son can cultivate earlier?"

"I can’t confirm that yet." Ling Yun scanned his grandson’s status, but unfortunately, Yun Chengxi didn’t inherit his father’s special physique. "Your son is only a month old, so we’ll have to wait three to four years to see his development. At that time, you can start introducing him to cultivation, and you can teach him cultivation if he can grasp the essence. If he can’t do that yet, you don’t need to force him to cultivate."

Mu Qingya nodded in understanding. "I will follow your advice, Father."

Ling Yun didn’t spend much time in Mu Qingya’s room, and he left after he teased his grandson for some time. However, Sheng Ai didn’t go with him, and she stayed there to play with her niece.

After that, Ling Yun went to the fortress to discuss some of his future plans with Xiao Yin. However, he found Xuanyuan Yue there, and she discussed something with her.

"What were you two discussing, Yue?"

Xuanyuan Yue turned to Ling Yun. "Do you still remember my dream, Father?"

"Hmm?" Ling Yun raised his eyebrows. "You mean your dream of creating an artifact that can travel to other universes?"

"I’m glad you still remember, Father!"

"You’re my daughter, so I can’t possibly forget your dream." Ling Yun looked at the monitor in front of them. "Hmm? Are those images of Tang Xiao’s Primordial Divine Ark, Xiao Yin?"

"Yes, Master." Xiao Yin enlarged the images on the screen. "Unfortunately, I only have basic information about the ark, and I don’t have much information about all of its functions. However, I do have some information about its function for crossing into other universes."

"Oh?" Ling Yun crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Is it possible for us to create the same artifact as the ark?"

"No." Ling Yun looked at Xiao Yin. "I’ve checked several materials in this universe, and I only found a few materials that are suitable for creating it."

"Where did you get the information about those materials?"

"The Tianshan Realm, Father!" Ling Yun looked at Xuanyuan Yue in surprise. "Ever since Grandpa Tian moved the Tianshan Realm to the vicinity of this domain, I have frequently visited him and the others; they have provided me with a great deal of material. I asked Xiao Yin to keep a record of everything and to cross-reference those materials with the ones used to build the Primordial Divine Ark."

Ling Yun knew that the Tianshan Realm was the most modern planet in their universe, and no planet could match it, including Earth. "How many materials are compatible with the ark?"

"About ten percent, Father." Xuanyuan Yue was disappointed by that.

Ling Yun frowned after hearing that. He remembered that Tang Xiao said that his own universe was born according to his, so all those materials should exist in his universe as well.

"You don’t have to be discouraged about that, Yue’er." Ling Yun patted his daughter’s head. "The Tianshan Ream is the most advanced of all the planets in our universe, but you have to remember that they have never been to the Supreme Realm before. The Supreme Realm is very vast, and there are many planets in it. As long as you don’t give up, I believe you’ll find all the materials compatible with the Ark someday, and you’ll be able to build your own artifact then."

"I know, Father," Xuanyuan Yue nodded seriously. "Building an artifact that can travel to other universes is my greatest dream, so I will never give up. Once my cultivation is sufficiently high, I will travel to every corner of our universe in search of those materials, and I will build the artifact of my dreams."

Ling Yun smiled with satisfaction to see his daughter so eager to pursue her dreams. "However, you must always remember my words, Yue’er. Don’t ever think about playing with time; it will affect many things, including your life. Do you understand?"

"I promise you, I will never think about that, Father."

"That’s good." Xuanyuan Yue then displayed the design drawing of her dream artifact, which surprised Ling Yun. "Who helped you draw this design?"

"Hehe," Xuanyuan Yue giggled. "Xiao Yin and Mother Zhao helped me draw it."

"The design is nice and futuristic; I hope you will succeed in building it in the future."

Xuanyuan Yue thought for a moment. "Father, if you manage to defeat Chaos and take his place as the core of this universe in the future, that means you will have the ability to create those materials, right?"

"I don’t know," Ling Yun replied with a shake of his head. "Regarding that matter, we’ll see after I defeat Chaos in the future, Yue’er."

"I hope you will defeat Chaos in the future, Father." Xuanyuan Yue hugged him. "If you cannot return to us, I will try my best to find a solution for you, and I will bring you back."

Ling Yun hugged her. "You don’t need to think about that, okay? Regardless of the outcome in the future, you just need to enjoy your life and chase your dreams."

"No." Xuanyuan Yue shook her head. "If you can’t come back to us after defeating Chaos, my mother and the others will be sad. I don’t want to see them sad, so I will do whatever it takes to bring you back."

Ling Yun felt warm in his heart hearing that. "If I can’t return on my own, I’ll rely on you to bring me back."

"Hehe." Xuanyuan Yue let go of Ling Yun and extended her pinky finger to him. "Let’s pinky promise, Father."

"Alright." Ling Yun hooked his pinky finger to Xuanyuan Yue’s pinky finger. "Are you satisfied now?"

Xuanyuan Yue nodded a few times. "You should go now, Father. Xiao Yin and I have some things to check on, and your presence will distract us."

"You dare chase your father away, huh?" Ling Yun pinched her cheeks. "Alright, I won’t bother you two anymore, and you can do whatever you want."

After Ling Yun left, Xuanyuan Yue’s expression turned serious. "Xiao Yin, no matter what it takes, we must succeed in creating this artifact."

"Okay."

After leaving the laboratory, Ling Yun went to the living area. He found his children focused on their cultivation, accompanied by their respective partners. He was truly satisfied to see them so focused on their cultivation, and he left the fortress afterward.

When Ling Yun arrived at the eastern garden, Ling Xi appeared in front of Ling Yun. "What are you thinking about?"

"Our future."

"Hmm?"

"What will you do if I can’t return to your side?"

"What else?" Ling Xi floated before him and cupped his face. "You are my husband and the only man in my life, remember? I will wait for your return for the rest of my life, and I will find a way to accompany you there."

"Thank you, Ling Xi." Ling Yun hugged her and kissed her. "Do you know one of the things I want most in my life?"

"What is it?"

"I want to have children with you."

Ling Xi stiffened, her eyes wide. She had long been Ling Yun’s wife, and she harbored dreams of having children with him. However, she knew that was impossible because she was born differently from other living beings, including members of the spirit race. "Husband, I—"

"Shh." Ling Yun pressed his index finger to her lips. "I know it’s not possible right now, but I believe there will be another way for us to have a child. Once I defeat Chaos and inherit his omnipotence, I believe that I can do something for you, and we will have a child in the future."

"Husband." Ling Xi hugged him tightly. "Having a child with you is my only dream; I hope you can make it come true in the future."

Ling Yun rubbed her back. "Don’t worry, we will have children in the future."

"Mhmm." Ling Xi looked up at him, removed her dress, and returned to her adult form. "Love me, Husband."

"Haha,"

Another week passed, and Sheng Ming finally returned to the Yunlong Zhuzhai together with Tian Hu. "Your master is sparring with his children at the training ground, so you should go there to meet him."

"Okay." Tian Hu wanted to rush to the training ground, but Ling Yu’er suddenly appeared before them. They looked at each other longingly. "Yu’er."

Ling Yu’er pulled Tian Hu into her embrace. "Welcome back, Big Sis Hu."

"I’m back, Yu’er." Tian Hu hugged her back.

Sheng Ming smiled when she saw the two of them like that, but she immediately left them and went to look for her daughter, Sheng Ai.

Compared to her relationships with other women, the bond between Ling Yu’er and Tian Hu was exceptionally deep. In the past, she had been unable to cultivate due to her frail body, but her fate changed after she met the female fox, and her life became better because of her.

After hugging for quite a while, Ling Yu’er released Tian Hu and took her by the hand. "Let’s go see Yun’er, Big Sis Hu."

"Alright."
