"It’s time to go. We still have things to do today." I said.
Everyone got out of the bath and got dressed after drying off. All four girls put on fresh clean dresses with matching flats. I put my armor on. We left the bathhouse and walked down the street. I took the girls to a shop that had weapons and leather armor in the windows.
"Alright Lyra. Go find yourself something to wear that fits your class." I said.
Lyra immediately found a black form fitting assassin outfit with a hood and mask. It had a sign in front of it showing the details.
(Assassin set- Enchanted to reduce noise.)
"How much is this?" I asked the man at the counter.
"One gold thirty." He said.
"Can she try it on?" I asked.
"Changing room is back there." He said pointing toward the back.
"Try it on Lyra, and come out so I can see it." I said.
Lyra’s face lit up as she grabbed it and bolted toward the changing room. Amber was standing next to me so I put my hand on her shoulder and walked around the shop with her.
"What do you think about being an archer Amber?" I asked.
She looked at me and shrugged.
"Can you imagine it? Someone your size high up in the trees, jumping from branch to branch shooting down arrows from all directions? That would be absolutely terrifying for our enemies." I said.
"Really?" She asked quietly.
"Yes. I think it would be pretty cool too." I said.
"You want me to be an archer?" She asked.
"Sure. Why not? You could fight from a distance and if you fought from the tree branches the enemies couldn’t reach you. You could hide up there and protect the rest of us while we fight." I said.
"I could protect you?" She asked.
"Yeah. You could shoot anything or anyone that tries to sneak up behind me." I said.
"Okay." She smiled.
"Do you want to find an outfit to fight in?" I asked her.
"Do I have to?" She asked.
"No of course not. But what will you wear during a fight?" I asked.
"Is there something wrong with my dresses?" She asked.
"No. Your dresses are pretty. But those are for when we are in the city. They will get ripped or torn in a fight." I said.
"I don’t want them to get ripped. Master bought them to make me pretty." She mumbled.
"Please don’t call me Master, I don’t like it. Can you call me Erik?" I asked.
She nodded her head.
"Good. Now let’s just walk around and if you see anything you like just let me know okay?"
She nodded again. We walked around until Lyra came out wearing the assassin outfit with a big smile on her face. Her tail was wagging happily as she showed it off. She spun around to show the back and turned again to face me.
"How does it feel? Is it comfortable?" I asked.
"Yes sir. It’s very comfortable." She said.
She pulled the mask over her face and pulled the hood over her head. I walked up to her and felt the fabric and walked around her.
"It looks good. You can go put your dress back on and put this on the counter so I can pay for it." I said.
"Thank you sir." She said as she clapped and ran off.
I put my hand back on Amber’s shoulder and walked her around the shop until Lyra brought her new outfit out.
"Do you see anything you like Amber?" I asked.
"No." She whispered
I saw a dagger made of black steel with a black cord wrapped around the hilt. There was a sign next to it.
(Poison dagger.)
"How about this Lyra?" I asked.
Lyra ran over and looked at it. She picked it up and pulled it halfway out of the scabbard and sniffed the blade.
"Poison." She said after smelling it.
"That would make a good weapon for my assassin wouldn’t it?" I asked.
"Yes sir." She nodded happily.
"How much for this dagger?" I asked.
"Two gold." He said.
"Go put this on the counter with your new outfit." I told Lyra.
She grabbed the dagger and ran to the counter. I followed her to the counter and paid three gold thirty for her things. Sarah and Lucy stood by the door and watched Lyra excitedly run around the shop. I picked up Lyra’s new gear and handed it to her.
"Store this in your ring." I said.
We left the shop and I turned to Lucy.
"Lead the way to your mother’s house so we can invite her to our wedding. But don’t tell her about the house. It’s a surprise." I said.
Lucy turned and we followed her to her mother’s house. After walking for forty-five minutes we arrived at Patty’s house. Lucy called to her mother as we approached the door and patty opened it just as we were about to knock. Lucy hugged her mother tightly.
"I have excellent news mom." She said.
"What is it Lucy?"
Lucy reached up and unclasped her collar. Patty gasped and covered her mouth with her hands.
"He freed you?" She asked.
"Yes. And there is more." She said.
She held up her hand and showed Patty her engagement ring.
"We’re getting married in three days." Lucy shouted.
"What? How did this happen?" She asked.
We went inside the house and Patty sat in her new chair next to her new table. Sarah and Lucy sat on two of the chairs around the table. I sat on the last chair and pulled Amber onto my lap before holding my hand out to Lyra. Lyra gave me her hand and I pulled her onto my other leg.
"We went on the goblin mission I told you about and we spent the whole time together in the woods. He made me an offer for marriage and I agreed to it." Lucy explained.
Patty leaned closer to Lucy.
