Primordial Red Goblin

Chapter 41: A Lovely Home For Patty

Sarah and Lucy laughed as Amber blushed.

I stood up and put Amber down.

"It’s about time we got dressed" I told her.

Everyone got dressed for the day. The girls all wore dresses with matching flats and I wore my armor. After the meal server brought the cart for breakfast we ate before heading out for the day. As we walked by the counter Sarah turned and stopped.

"Does this hotel have a laundry service?" She asked.

"Yes ma’am. We have three different sizes of laundry bags. Twenty bronze for the small, twenty-five bronze for the medium and thirty bronze for the large." The man explained as he showed her the laundry bags.

"We’ll take a large one." She said.

He handed her the bag

"You pay when you drop it off to be washed." He said.

We left the hotel and walked to the shop Sarah bought her wedding dress from. We stopped outside and I handed eight gold coins to Sarah.

"Here is two gold for each of your dresses. I will meet you back here later.’ I said.

"Can I stay with you?" Amber asked.

"You have to stay here so they can find you a dress for Lucy’s wedding." I said.

The girls turned and went inside the shop and I went to the place that rents carriages. I scheduled the same carriage as before and paid the one gold seventy that included the refundable deposit. Then I left and went to the real estate office.

"Welcome back sir. I have the list you requested." Said the man inside.

He led me to an open carriage that we rode around the city looking at the houses on the list. There were eleven houses some of them I immediately turned down before the carriage stopped because of the condition of the outside of them. We went inside seven of them and he showed me around while telling me what he knew about them.

"Is there anything else available if I increased my price to fifteen gold?" I asked.

"Oh yes sir." He said

We got back in the carriage and we went to a few more houses in a better neighborhood. We arrived at a nicely painted home that looked well taken care of from the outside. We entered it and it had a spacious sitting room. The next room was a nice kitchen with a stove and oven that used a magical artifact to cook the food. Next to the kitchen was a dining room big enough to fit a table with enough chairs to seat Patty and all my women as well as me. The bedroom was large enough to fit a bed capable of holding several people and a large dresser. There was a decent sized closet in the bedroom too. There was even a bathroom with a small bathtub, the bathroom also had a water closet with a toilet. There was a small backyard where the well was that supplied water to the house.

"How much is this one?" I asked.

"This one is thirteen gold seventy-five." He said.

"I’ll take it." I said.

"Wonderful sir. I’ll draw up the paperwork." He said.

"How long will that take?" I asked.

"I can have it ready for you to sign in seven days. I will also need the payment at the time of signing." He said.

"I will return in nine days." I said.

We got back in the carriage and returned to his office. I climbed out of the carriage and returned to the dress shop and walked in.

"May I help you sir?" Asked the woman at the counter.

"I dropped off my wife, fiancee, and two slaves here for some shopping earlier." I said.

"Yes sir, I will let them know you have arrived." She said.

She walked into the back and came back five minutes later.

"They are still not quite finished sir. You are free to sit here and wait." She said gesturing to a sofa.

I sat down and waited. After twenty minutes they walked in from the back.

"Did you ladies have fun?" I asked.

"Oh yes we did." Lucy said.

We left the shop and began walking down the street.

"So did you find a house for mother?" Lucy asked.

"There wasn’t one I liked in the price range I gave." I said.

"Oh." She mumbled looking at the ground.

"So I picked one with a higher price." I said.

Lucy looked back up and clapped her hands to her chest.

"Really?" She asked.

"Yes. It’s a lovely home for my future mother-in-law." I said.

"When can I see it?" She asked.

"When I pay for it and sign the paperwork in nine days." I said.

"So after you spend seven days impregnating Lucy." Sarah chuckled.

Lucy blushed and looked away.

"Exactly.’ I chuckled.

As we walked we passed several shops and Amber stopped at a window display showing archery equipment.

"Would you like to go inside?" I asked.

"Do you still want me to be an archer?" She asked.

"That’s entirely up to you." I said.

She looked back at the display and after a minute she nodded.

"Okay." She said.

We went inside and Amber walked around the shop. I put my arm around her shoulder and walked her to the counter.

"Do you have anything that will fit my lovely companion here?" I asked.

The man behind the counter leaned forward over the counter and looked down at Amber.

"No sir. But I could make something if you got the coin." He said.

"How much and how long would it take?" I asked.

"Do you mind if I take some measurements first?" He asked.

I looked down at Amber.

"Is that okay?" I asked.

She looked up at me and nodded.

"Go ahead. But keep it professional." I said.

He walked around the counter with a measuring tape. After taking several measurements he wrote some notes on a slip of paper before looking back up.
