Primordial Red Goblin

By the time we finished spending time together the others came in. Everyone got dressed for bed and lay down.

The next day I woke up early and got ready. Sarah, Lucy, Amber, Lyra, Lilly, and I left the house before the children went to school. We went to the adventurer guild and Sarah got a new goblin mission and we left the city. We entered the forest and walked for four days before finding the goblin cave we were hunting. After putting Lucy and Lilly in a tree I went and began bringing the goblins for Sarah, Amber, and Lyra to take turns killing them. Once all the goblins were dead all three girls were level nine. I then brought Lucy and Lilly down from the tree.

"Now that we’ve finished the mission we have two days to hunt for orcs before we have to head back to the city before Lilly’s turn is over and Nyx’s turn begins." I said.

We continued walking through the forest and the next day I found an orc cave. I hid the girls in a tree and went to kill the orcs. I quickly ran to the orcs and attacked them before they knew I was there. By the time they saw me it was far too late. After they were all dead I found their hoard and collected the coin. I added one hundred one gold, four hundred thirty-six silver, and two thousand four hundred eighteen bronze. There were also three storage rings that I picked up. I quickly ran back to the girls and lowered them from the tree.

"How was it?" Sarah asked.

"Decent." I said.

"Awesome." Lucy added.

"We don’t have to turn back until after tomorrow so we can spend the rest of today and all of tomorrow looking to see if we can find another orc cave." I said.

"Maybe we can find more goblins to kill too." Amber said.

"Maybe." I replied.

We spent the rest of the day walking through the forest before making camp. We sat and had dinner while Lucy went around doing her nightly checks on the girls and their pregnancies.

"Eric, Lilly is pregnant now." She said.

I went to Lilly and pulled her into a hug.

"Congratulations." I said.

"Thank you. Does this mean my turn is over?" She asked quietly.

"Of course not. I still have another week with you." I said.

She smiled and kissed me.

"Good." Lilly said.

After eating we went into the tent for the night.

We walked the entire next day and didn’t find anymore orcs or goblins so we turned back toward the city. We spent the next six days walking back to the city and walked through the gates on the last morning of Lilly’s turn. I took the girls to the adventurer guild so they could collect their payment for the mission then we went to the bathhouse to wash two weeks of dirt, grime, and monster blood off of us. Afterward we went back home to the orphanage. When we walked through the door Nyx gave us and update.

"We got another kid. A boy age twelve. His mother died in child birth and his dad just died in a workplace accident at the quarry. He arrived four days ago. He makes our new total forty." She said.

"Good thing I doubled the capacity of this place." I said.

I went upstairs to the attic and opened the safe. After inspecting the expenditure sheet I saw we are spending two gold a week for sending the kids to the training grounds three times a week and sending everyone to the bathhouse four times a week. We are aslo spending twenty silver sixty-five a week on groceries for everyone. With what I put in the safe last time it should last another full year if I don’t add anymore expenses to the list. I put the list back in the safe and locked it. I then went back downstairs and gave the three new storage rings to the sisters that didn’t have one yet. Now all of my wives and I have two rings and all the sisters have one. I went to the backyard and inspected the new playground. Sister Bubbles was outside with the two younger children playing on the new slide.

"How are the kids liking the new playground?" I asked.

"They love it. We can hardly get them to go inside for meals." Bubbles answered.

"That’s good." I said.

I then went back into the house and went to the kitchen to check on the progress the dwarves had made. They had put a hinged trap door over the hole they made. I lifted the door and saw a stairway leading down. I went down it and saw they had dug a stairway with the same height and width as a normal hallway twenty feet into the ground. They had even built in wooden steps and put up wooden walls and a ceiling.

"Do you guys need more materials? I asked.

"Soon. Maybe in a couple of days." Rollo said.

"Alright. Just let me know when you have enough room down there to add more men to your crew." I said.

"Yes sir." He said.

I closed the trap door and went up stairs to check the renovations. The boy’s floor was finished and the girl’s floor was nearly finished with only two rooms still being worked on. I went to the attic and saw they had started renovations on the attic.

"How much longer will these repairs take? I asked one of the workers.

"A few days for the attic and about a week for the roof." He answered.

I went back downstairs and saw the kids running in from school.

"Hi Mister Red." They shouted as they ran to drop their things in their rooms.

"Bye Mister Red." They shouted as they ran by to leave with the sisters to go to the training grounds.

Lilly laughed as they ran by nearly knocking us down the stairs.
