"Who are you?" I asked.

"I heard a rumor from my associates in Emerald City, about a very tall man in full mithril armor." He said before lunging at me.

I deflected his blade with mine before grabbing the wrist of his sword arm and headbutting him with my helmet. Then I tossed him toward his people. He hit a tree and fell to the ground. The moment I tossed him his people attacked.

The leader pulled out a communication device and activated it.

"I need more reinforcements. This fucker has already killed half of my men." He yelled into it.

I kept fighting. I killed everyone that charged me. By the end only three remained. The leader and two of his people that lacked the courage to fight me.

"Who are you?" I asked again.

"Fuck you. That’s who I am." He said.

"Sorry, you’re not my type." I said as I ran toward him.

I ran my sword through his stomach and into the tree behind him, pinning him to the tree.

He screamed in pain.

"Answer my questions or die." I said.

"More people are coming. You’re fucked now." He laughed as blood trailed from his mouth.

I turned to his remaining two friends.

"Who is willing to answer my questions?" I asked.

One man raised his hand.

"Traitor." Yelled the other man as he tried to attack him.

I caught his fist and broke his arm. Then I pulled my sword from the leader and killed him and his boss.

"Speak." I said to the one that raised his hand.

"We work for a crime family. We’re not members of the family, only associates." He stuttered.

"What is this family called?" I aasked.

"Only family members know the name." He shrugged.

"Okay, what does this family do. And what is your part in this?" I asked.

"I’m just an errand boy. I do what I’m told and I get paid for it. As for the family, they do everything. If you can profit from it they have a hand in it." He answered.

"How many of these crime families are there?" I asked.

"Nobody really knows. They say every race has one." He replied.

"What race is the family you work for?" I asked.

"Human. I work for the human family." He answered.

"Have you ever met an actual member of this family?" I asked.

"I’ve seen one, but I never met him." He answered.

"How do I get in contact with a representative of this family?" I asked.

He laughed nervously as he looked at the body of his boss.

"They have fronts in many of the cities. You go there and ask for a meeting. Either they give you one or they kill you." He said.

Just then I heard dozens of people running through the forest to reinforce the now dead leader. I turned toward the noise and held my sword at my side. They stopped fifty feet from me and looked around at all of the bodies.

"Who are you?" Asked the new leader.

"Just someone looking for orcs." I said.

"Name. What’s your name?" He asked.

"What’s your name?" I asked.

"I ask the questions here, and you answer them." He scowled.

"That’s not how this is going to play through." I said.

I sensed their levels. The new leader was in the mid thirties as well as most of the people with him.

"Kill him!" He shouted.

Everyone behind him charged at me. I quickly killed the man that had answered my questions before running at the new group of attackers. I fought for half an hour before only one remained. A Fox-kin woman. She dropped her weapon and fell to her knees with her hands up.

"Please don’t kill me. I’ll do whatever you want." She begged.

I approached her and stood in front of her.

"Why should I spare you?" I asked.

"Please. I didn’t choose this. Both of my parents work for the family. I just turned eighteen last week and this is my first posting." She sobbed.

I grabbed her by her hair and lifted her to her feet.

"Behave and you might live." I said.

"Okay okay." She cried.

I led her by her hair to the hidden camp.

"Ladies, come help me search these bodies." I said.

Sarah and the others followed me back to the decoy camp and began searching the bodies as I sat the woman by the fire pit and sat back on the rock. The Fox-kin continued to cry as she sat there.

"What do you plan on doing with her?" Sarah asked.

"I don’t know. She surrendered and begged me not to kill her. During the entire fight she stayed in the back of the group and never attacked me." I said.

Amber walked over and stared at her.

"I can think of a use for her." Amber grinned.

The captured Fox-kin looked up at Amber still crying.

"What’s your name?" I asked.

"Ginger." She answered between sobs.

"You are my husband’s prisoner now. Stand and remove your clothes so I can make sure you aren’t hiding any weapons." Amber demanded and she stepped toward Ginger.

"What?" Ginger gasped.

"You heard her. Strip." Lyra ordered.

Ginger stood and looked around before slowly undressing. She was five foot four inches tall. She had red hair and blue eyes.
