Chapter 340: Chapter 264: Feng Ling’s Personality
Wu Liang’s face flushed crimson. After a long moment, he said, "Fine! Very good! Just fine! In that case, I’ll be taking my leave!"
Watching Wu Liang’s retreating figure, Wang Chao said worriedly, "Miss Fengling, you shouldn’t have provoked a man like that. *Sigh*... You know how petty he is. There’s no telling what someone like him might do!"
Fengling nodded. "I know, but I couldn’t help myself. You wouldn’t understand!"
Standing to the side, Anya, with her natural feminine sensitivity, could tell from Fengling’s words that her connection to Ling Xiao was more than a simple acquaintance. Gazing at Fengling’s plain, ordinary face, Anya’s mind couldn’t stop wandering.
’If I had been a little more forward back then, perhaps I’d be the one talking about him like that now.’
Wang Chao gave a helpless, bitter smile. No one knew what kind of person Wu Liang was better than he did. Wu Liang had held a grudge ever since Ling Xiao had healed Wang Chao, ruining his chances of becoming the regiment commander. Most people would find such a reaction difficult to comprehend, but that was just Wu Liang’s nature.
So, Wang Chao said with another bitter smile, "Forget it. We should go warn Brother Ling Xiao as soon as we can! Let’s just ignore him for now!"
After the group had departed, Wu Liang emerged from the shadows. His face was dark as he sneered through gritted teeth, "Look down on me? Fine! You bitch... I’ll show you that strength isn’t everything! And the rest of you... since you were unkind, don’t blame me for being unjust!" He turned, walked to a carriage house, and rented a coach. Tossing the driver a single Gold Coin, he gave a curt order: "Seven-colored City."
...
When Ling Xiao and Song Mingyue entered East Sea Dragon City, they looked like a picture-perfect couple. He was dashingly handsome, with an effortless grace. She had a slender figure, with flawless legs that were both rounded and perfectly straight. Her ample bosom, a waist a man could span with his hands, and her pert, shapely hips combined to form an exquisitely beautiful, yet perfectly natural, curve.
Although a thin veil concealed her face, the sight of her long, delicate neck and slender hands was enough to make anyone who saw her do a double take.
What a stunning woman!
East Sea Dragon City was laid out in a grid, with wide, straight streets. The main thoroughfare stretched as far as the eye could see, bustling with a constant stream of carriages and pedestrians, a testament to the prosperity of this coastal city.
Inns and restaurants lined both sides of the street, their storefronts packed tightly together. The air was filled with the cries of vendors hawking their wares.
Song Mingyue stayed close to Ling Xiao’s side as they led their horses to the entrance of an inn. A waiter immediately hurried over, instructing a stable boy to take their mounts. He greeted the pair with a deferential bow, but when his eyes fell on Song Mingyue, he was visibly taken aback.
"Right this way, you two!" the waiter called out, his voice loud but friendly. "Are you looking for a room and a meal?"
Ling Xiao nodded, and the waiter continued, "We only have one of our best rooms left. Will that be alright?"
A blush crept up Song Mingyue’s cheeks beneath her veil, and she shot the waiter a glare. Ling Xiao, however, remained perfectly calm and simply nodded. "That’s fine."
Just then, a voice boomed from the doorway, "Waiter, give that room to us! Whatever he’s paying, we’ll pay double!"
The man’s voice continued, full of complaint. "Fucking ridiculous. How can every inn in a city this big be full? I don’t get what all this third-rate riffraff is doing here, crowding up the place!"
