Proud Sword Soaring Clouds

Chapter 381: Important Notice

Since the day this book went up for sale, I’ve been updating 10,000 characters a day. In January, I even wrote over 400,000 characters. Many of you probably think 10,000 characters a day isn’t much, but it’s really not easy!

To use a joke we writers tell each other: try hitting your keyboard fifty or sixty thousand times a day, and then do it every single day... Heh, and it’s no exaggeration to say fifty or sixty thousand times. You’ll know what I mean if you try it.

February was Chinese New Year, and I didn’t go home. The moment I set foot in my hometown, I’d be bombarded with one social engagement after another. Trying to write? Impossible! The holiday season isn’t quite over yet, so I’m sure many of you can relate, right?

But I never expected that even staying here, I wouldn’t get any peace. Writers are people too, and we have social lives. I can only give a wry smile and throw up my hands... There’s really nothing to be done. I can’t just lock myself away and cut off all contact, right? My friends were already resentful enough because I’m always cooped up at home and hardly ever go out.

So, I had originally planned for a burst update in February, but because of all the social obligations, it never happened. That said, I feel like keeping up with 10,000 characters a day is a burst update in itself. I dare say that for this book, from start to finish, as long as no unforeseen circumstances get in the way, I can maintain 10,000 characters of updates every single day. I bet not many authors can make that claim, right?

And as for those "unforeseen circumstances," I hope you all understand. I have elders above me and children below me to care for, and some things in life just can’t be predicted.

Failing to do the burst update has left me feeling pretty burnt out, and my body is just so weak these days. I live on the sixth floor, and just going downstairs and back up again takes me half a day to recover. It’s so pathetic... I feel like I’m turning into a total wreck.

However, the New Year’s holiday... is finally almost over, and this month is almost over, too. I was thinking, ’Even though 10,000 characters a day isn’t a small amount, I ultimately failed to do a burst update, so it feels a little shameless to ask for monthly tickets.’ Haha, how embarrassing!

It’s currently the ninth day of the first lunar month, and in a few more minutes, it’ll be the tenth. My birthday is on the twelfth of the first lunar month. So, everyone... *ahem*... how about you treat your monthly tickets as a birthday present for me? If I get less than five hundred tickets, I lose out on a one-thousand-yuan bonus.

I’m a professional writer, and I rely on this to feed my family. It can’t be helped, so please, I’d appreciate all the support you can give.

In any case, on my birthday, I’ll try my best to write a bit more. Really, I will. If you all shower me with so many monthly tickets that my head spins, maybe I’ll manage that burst update after all... (To be continued.
