Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 176: Ch 176: Over-Exerting Force

"I-Is this even possible? How can anyone create a barrier big enough to engulf not only our home but also the village? Are Grand Masters supposed to be this strong?"

Marsha looked shocked to see Kael’s skill, and she was not the only one. No one moved as Kael’s barrier took hit after hit from the glowing mass of corruption.

They all watched as a single spell protected them from their doom.

But now was not the time for these people to sit around and watch.

"Hurry up and start evacuating people. I cannot take that thing down properly if there are people around."

The huge mass of corruption ensured that Kael would have to use force, causing mass destruction. But he would rather avoid any loss of life in the process.

"Everyone, you heard Grand Master Kael. Hurry up and start evacuating people."

The other servants snapped everyone into motion, and they quickly rushed to their posts to help people out. Thankfully, magical devices had been placed around in case of emergencies, allowing people to handle the situation quickly.

Kael kept his barrier up for half an hour before he got the signal that it was safe for him to start attacking the monster. Finally, he took a deep breath and quickly teleported out to face the mass of corruption.

Someone lost to corruption no longer had any idea what they were doing, and the mass in front of Kael was no different.

It sensed Kael’s magic and immediately started attacking him. The attacks did not have much of an impact on Kael as he quickly blocked them using his magic.

Corruption could get through normal magic, so Kael had to constantly convert his own magic into divine energy, putting himself at a disadvantage.

"At least clearing this mess won’t take long. It’s just a little tedious to do."

Kael sighed and started casting. Blades of magic began to rise before being converted into divine energy. And with a single command, they rained down on the mass of darkness.

Chunks of corruption started to fall, and Kael focused on hitting them to dispel them. No trace of this creature could be left behind.

"Tsk, you are just a big ball of annoyance. I need to take care of you before my family sends someone to check out what is happening. So, won’t you keep quiet and die?"

Kael asked as he formed chains out of divine energy to wrap around the huge creature. He was slowly caging it inside that space, ensuring it would not be able to dodge the next attack.

The creature noticed and decided to reach toward Kael to kill him. But Kael was already converging his chains together to form a spear.

His chain cage had only one opening, and the creature rushed toward it. But Kael threw a spear of divine energy through the gap, successfully piercing the monster and halting its movements.

The creature let out a huge roar of pain and clutched its body. The divine energy was already purifying it, but the process was not as fast as Kael would have liked.

In fact, he had a feeling something was wrong with the corruption. It was behaving strangely, making him want to take a closer look.

"Huh? What is going on? Is this-"

The corruption suddenly lunged toward him, threatening to engulf him whole. Kael tried to step back, only to notice that even his path of escape had been blocked.

"What the-"

Corruption was supposed to die out once it touched divine energy. But for some reason, it just kept growing and growing.

Kael immediately formed magical blades to clear a way out, and it worked. But the corruption recovered far too quickly.

It was almost as if someone else was helping it from the outside.

Kael dropped the cage he had formed around the creature and instead focused all his energy on clearing the corruption.

The sooner he cleaned it up, the sooner he could catch the culprit.

"Fine! If it’s a match of skill you want, then I will show you what I can do. I will purify this whole space so that you won’t be able to command any corruption for a while."

Kael sighed and brought his hands together. He was going to unleash the dormant energy sealed inside his body.

He was usually not foolish enough to do this, but today was a special occasion that called for it.

Click

Kael heard the sound of his seal loosening, and breathing became a little difficult as magic surged through his body. Since becoming a Grand Master, Kael had never used as much magic as he was about to this time.

Divine light filled the area and began to purify everything it touched. The corrupted monster also withered in anguish, wanting to get away. But it no longer had the strength to run.

As for Kael? He was facing a problem of his own that he had not anticipated.

"Darn it! I forgot that my body won’t be able to take this pressure. I...feel like I am about to faint."

Kael looked down at his hands, and they were turning white. The divine magic was starting to consume him from the inside out.

"Mother-! Kael-! Don’t do it-! You need to stop-!"

A familiar voice yelled in his ear, and Kael let out a chuckle at the desperation in that voice.

"Ah, now I’ve done it. I’ve gone so far that I’m even hallucinating Elena’s voice calling out to me. I guess I really did push this body too far."

Kael’s original body would have been able to endure it. But he had forgotten that his current body had not finished growing yet. It would not be able to withstand the full power of his magic. That was why it had been sealed inside him.

His body slumped from exhaustion, and he felt himself falling. But someone caught him before he hit the ground.

"Well, what do we have here? The runaway runt who decided he didn’t need his family? Looks like fate decided to throw you back to us after all."

The annoying voice spoke to Kael, but he was too tired to do anything about it.

His eyes fluttered shut, and the last thing he heard was that voice calling out to him.

"Sleep well, younger brother. Next time you wake up, it will be at home."
