While Kael had been forced to stay confined with his family for his own safety, he was not allowed to contact the outside world. The reverse was also true.

So far, every letter or method of contact meant for him had been cut off by the barrier, making it impossible for anyone to reach him. And because of this, those trying to contact him were slowly losing their minds.

Well, all of them except Leon.

He was the only one who had any idea where Kael was, but he refused to share it with anyone else.

Seraphina, who could not take it anymore, decided to storm out of her room. She had been trying to contact Kael for two days, and just when the call had finally connected, it had been cut off.

"Saintess, please wait! Your training for today is not over! Please complete your training before you leave-!"

Rather, she respected the elderly lady a lot. But she was too worried about Kael to perform her duties properly.

She stormed toward the training grounds, where everyone stopped to look at her.

"Saintess, can we help you?"

The captain of the Holy Knights asked as he knelt before her. Once he showed his respect, the others followed immediately.

But Seraphina was not moved by their respect, nor was she going to be distracted from her current mission.

"I want you to assign me a few highly trained guards. I will be heading out to the battlefield to speak with the Hero."

Seraphina demanded, making the captain look back at her with an awkward expression.

"Saintess, that is...! I don’t think it’s safe for you to head to the battlefield right now. I heard there are a lot of monsters there, and you might get hurt-"

Divine energy forced the man to his knees, and he looked shocked that he had been made to kneel before the gentle-looking Saintess.

Most of the Sword Masters of the temple were away, so he had temporarily taken up the role of captain. But he already knew he was not suited for this position.

And being forced into submission like this only made him even more certain.

"I am not asking you. I am ordering you. Do not make me repeat myself."

No matter how much the captain wanted to protest, he could do nothing against the Saintess. In the end, Seraphina pressured him into escorting her to the battlefield.

Iris reminded herself for the fifth time as she forced a smile onto her face.

"Thank you for warning me. I will make sure to be more careful from here on."

She told the guard, and his face flushed red. Luckily, he did not try to push his luck with her and quietly walked away.

Iris threw herself back into battle, pouring all her worry and rage onto the enemies until they were eradicated. But her anger had not subsided.

She needed more blood to distract herself. But the monsters were already gone. So what could she do?

’Hmm, don’t those guards look like nice fodder? I am sure you will feel much better if you start ending their lives-’

"Don’t think about it, Iris. You will make everyone your enemy if you act now."

Leon warned her just before she could react. His words washed over Iris, and she realized what she had just been about to do.

A gasp escaped her lips, and her sword slipped from her hand. Her hands trembled as she realized what she had almost done.

"I-"

"Are you worried about Kael? I will just repeat what I told Seraphina. He’s alright, so there is no need to worry about him. I was able to pinpoint his location when we connected with him last time. He’s most likely fine."

Leon reassured her, and Iris forced herself to calm down.

They headed back to camp, but the atmosphere was tense. Something serious seemed to have happened.

"Is something going on, Captain Ken?"

Leon asked the Sword Master, since he was the only one who looked relaxed.

The man in question gave him an annoyed look before placing a hand on Leon’s shoulder. It was a clear sign for Leon to stay out of the matter, but it already felt too late.

"My dear Hero, it seems your ’friend,’ the Saintess, is here looking for you. So why don’t you entertain her for a while? Iris, you should join him as well. I’ll give you all some privacy."

And just like that, Leon was thrown in front of an angry Saintess, and he had no choice but to take a seat.

"Seraphina-"

"Don’t waste your breath. I already know you have no intention of telling me where Kael is. So I would just like to ask you to stay out of my way while I search for him. Iris, what about you? What are you going to do?"

Iris looked hesitant. She did not want to cause trouble, but at the same time...she did want to find Kael.

"I-"

"Think this through. Kael won’t like it if you interfere for no reason-"

"But Teacher also got himself into trouble last time and needed our help. This could be the same situation."

Both sides had a point, so Iris decided to follow her heart this time.

"I...would like to find Kael. I have a feeling he might need our help."
