When Alice Turner sat down, Benjamin Shaw called the waiter to order coffee. After asking her what kind of coffee she wanted, he ordered two cups of the same coffee.

"Did you come early?" Alice glanced at the cup in front of Benjamin; the water in the cup was full, but there was no hint of steam anymore.

Following Alice’s gaze, Benjamin suddenly recalled that the waiter had brought him a cup of water, which he had completely ignored.

"Yeah!"

Since she already guessed, there was no need for him to conceal anything. He didn’t want to hide anything from her anymore.

"Did you come from home?" Benjamin held the cup in front of him with one hand, his fingers deftly spinning the cup.

Alice turned her gaze from the cup to the man sitting opposite her, nodding openly at him, "Yes, and you? Did you come from the company, or somewhere else?"

He discussed cooperation with Jacob at noon; Jacob admired and adored him. They must have talked about more than just cooperation, right?

"I came from the company." Benjamin was clearly unaware of Alice’s thoughts, responding to her calmly.

Did they just leave after discussing cooperation? That shouldn’t be! Jacob isn’t that compliant.

Alice was full of doubts, both puzzled and worried, "How did your talk with Jacob go?"

Something was off. He said he came directly from the company, yet she hadn’t received any call from Jacob all afternoon, assuming they stayed together discussing matters.

"Jacob? Who is Jacob?" Benjamin asked, puzzled, furrowing his brows.

When Benjamin questioned her, Alice suddenly realized he didn’t know Anthony’s Flame Country name was Jacob. She quickly explained, "Jacob is Anthony’s Flame Country name."

Benjamin initially thought Jacob was Alice’s assistant; only after her explanation did he understand it was Anthony’s Flame Country name.

"How did your talk go? Any objections to the contract?" Alice inquired about the contract once more.

Upon hearing Alice ask about the cooperation again, Benjamin’s expression darkened slightly, though it was barely noticeable unless examined closely, "We didn’t manage to discuss at noon due to some unexpected situation."

He explained honestly; even if he didn’t say it, those others would have informed her.

No! The situation that happened at noon—nobody called her?

Seeing her oblivious expression, she clearly wasn’t informed.

"You didn’t manage to discuss at noon?! Why didn’t Jacob call me? What happened at noon?" Hearing Benjamin say they failed to discuss due to the sudden situation, Alice instantly became anxious, her whole demeanor turning tense.

Her worries were written all over her face, but Benjamin didn’t understand why she suddenly grew so anxious and tense.

"On the way to the restaurant at noon, something unexpected happened on my end, and later Mr. Anthony and your assistant took a cab back to the hotel." Benjamin didn’t specify what happened at noon, focusing instead on Anthony and Grace Young’s situation.

Because the woman sitting opposite him was concerned about this. She wasn’t concerned about what exactly happened at noon; he could see that clearly.
