Inside a luxuriously decorated dining room, Alicia and Liam silently sat on chairs.
From the corner of their eyes, they glanced toward the kitchen area at the side and looked at each other.
Liam leaned closer to her slightly and whispered in a low voice.
"See, I told you he said his wife was very beautiful. But you always said she would be a little fat lady with short legs, a runny nose, and a pockmarked face."
Alicia recalled Vivian’s appearance from earlier and was still a bit dazed.
"Who would have thought that guy would really bag such a baddie? It’s not the first time I have seen a noble lady taking in a handsome commoner. But most of the time, those ladies aren’t very beautiful and only do it to keep those commoners as boy toys."
Liam’s mouth twitched slightly at Alicia’s words.
"So you really thought he was being kept as a boy toy by a fat lady?"
Alicia awkwardly looked away and did not say anything.
Inside the kitchen, William sweated profusely as he looked at Vivian, who was looking at a sharp knife in her hand with a calm smile.
"My dear, I think your friends have a bit of a misunderstanding about me. How about I go out and talk to them?"
William looked at the knife she was intentionally or unintentionally sharpening and gulped.
’These two idiots, do they really think just because they are whispering, no one will be able to hear them?’
He coughed and took the knife away from her hand.
"They don’t mean any offense. They are just talking normally."
Vivian rolled her eyes but did not say anything.
William shook his head when he saw this and put away the knife.
"Anyway, we really just had lunch before coming here. You really don’t need to prepare anything."
"I know. You already mentioned it..." As she spoke, she looked at the back door of the kitchen, and Victoria entered with two small boxes.
The poor lady still had a bewildered expression on her face, and even while handing over the boxes, she looked dazed, as if she were just a puppet purely working on instincts.
"What happened to her?" William asked Vivian in a low voice.
"Since the moment I told her you are my husband, she has been in this state."
William looked at the dazed Victoria, and recalling that she had been with Vivian since childhood and had seen her grow up, he understood why she was in this state.
’In a sense, it’s like your century-old single daughter suddenly calling someone over to her home and then dropping the bomb that he’s her husband.’
Vivian opened the boxes, and a sweet aroma instantly filled the kitchen area.
William raised an eyebrow in surprise and leaned forward to look at the items inside the two boxes.
In one of the boxes, there were two jars of deep golden colored honey, and the sweet aroma was coming from them.
The second box had a watermelon-like fruit that was brown in color.
"Glaze Golden Honey and Deep Earth Fruit..."
William shook his head when he saw this.
"You really don’t need to bring out such expensive things. Just give them some water, and it will be enough."
Vivian gave him a weird look.
"You really are a cheapskate..." She said and looked at Victoria. "Serve these things to them."
Victoria nodded with a blank look and stiffly left the kitchen.
William suddenly thought of something and asked.
"What about me? There are only two portions?"
Vivian smiled and pinched his cheek.
"Just drink water and be done with it."
William’s mouth twitched, and he looked at her in disbelief.
"Vivian, you have changed. You weren’t like this before our marriage."
Vivian sighed and shook her head.
"What can I do? My husband is just a pauper with little to no money. As a weak woman, I need to be careful while spending money, right?"
William felt an arrow strike his heart, and a notification of critical damage flashed above his head.
Vivian laughed when she saw this and shook her head.
"Alright, so what did you want to talk about? Your friends came here specially to see me, but you didn’t even give them a chance to talk to me before pulling me away."
William looked at Vivian with a sour expression but still spoke.
"It’s about the Blood God Cult."
The faint smile on Vivian’s face stiffened for a second, but it immediately returned to normal as if nothing had happened.
"What about them?" She asked casually.
William told her everything that had happened during his trip and how he encountered Simon, even turning him into one of his minions.
"But the most important thing is that the god of this cult is actually that Blood Ancestor." As he spoke, William told her about how Simon had mistaken him for the Blood Ancestor because of his bloodline.
Vivian remained silent, and once William finished speaking, she nodded calmly.
"I already knew the Blood Ancestor was behind the Blood God Cult."
William didn’t feel much surprise upon hearing this, as he had already expected it. After all, she was one of the strongest vampires in the Vermilion Realm, so it was natural that she knew things about the Blood God Cult, which was filled with vampires.
"What do you think their purpose is?" William asked as he showed her the Tear of God and told her about the rift.
Vivian looked at the bottle containing the Tear of God for a few seconds before shaking her head.
"I honestly don’t know." She shook her head. "The people inside the Blood God Cult are just a bunch of lunatics. If possible, I suggest you stay away from them until you become strong enough to face them."
"I also have no intention of coming into contact with them for the time being..." William nodded and then shook his head. "But still, since I already have their Saint Son under my control, it would be a shame if I don’t use him properly."
Vivian’s mouth twitched slightly, as she still found it absurd that he had accidentally turned the Saint Son of the Blood God Cult into his slave.
"What are you planning to do?"
"For now, I will just let him gather more information for me," William said calmly. "As long as that so-called Holy Maiden he spoke of doesn’t return, he should be a good chess piece."
Vivian’s eyes flickered slightly at his words, and she nodded.
After a moment, she thought about what he had said earlier and asked.
"You also said you wanted to talk about something regarding your friend Liam, right? What is it?"
William remained silent for a few seconds before he took a deep breath and spoke in a serious voice.
"...I want to give one of the two portions of my bloodline to him."
