Chapter 1234: Chapter 1234: Composed
"I see you’re here to distract yourself." Frederick Cole affirmed, "What’s really going on with Sophie?"
Back in the day, that little girl did so much for them, there’s no reason they wouldn’t help if she needs it now.
"Treatment," Kai Bright said.
"Treatment?" Frederick was shocked, "Is there a way to treat her condition?"
"Can you guarantee success? Is there any risk?" Frederick only just finished asking when he saw Kai looking at him like he was an idiot.
This brat!
Frederick cursed inwardly.
Was asking like that too anxious?
Yes, maybe it was a bit dumb, but did he deserve that look?
Frederick cleared his throat and asked, "When did it start?"
"Last night." Kai glanced at the time, then got up and said, "Okay, there should be results now, I’m heading back."
Frederick: "..."
This brat just came to kill time with him?
"Get lost!" Frederick was annoyed seeing him now, "Call when there’s news."
"Okay." Kai nodded, tossed the towel aside, and quickly left.
Clearly, he was very worried about the results.
At twelve o’clock, Kai Bright supported himself with one hand on the yard wall and flipped into Charles Seymour’s villa.
Once he landed, Kai was face to face with Charles’s driver.
Obviously, when Kai was about to climb the wall, the housekeeper had already seen it on the surveillance and deliberately sent the driver over to wait.
Normally, someone caught climbing another’s wall would be embarrassed, if not, they’d at least be a bit awkward.
Yet Kai wasn’t that kind of normal person. Facing the driver, he opened his mouth and said, "You’re in the way."
Driver: "..."
One might say, isn’t this typical of the monsieur’s friends?
This level of shamelessness—well... he didn’t say anything.
The driver quietly stepped aside, making way for Kai to pass.
Kai entered the house, looked at the housekeeper who opened the door for him, and shot him a questioning look.
The housekeeper shook his head.
The flippant expression on Kai’s face vanished instantly, replaced by a cloudy, somber one.
Kai looked up at the clock on the living room wall. Charles had said that if it went well, Sophie would wake up by twelve the next day.
So... is it not going well?
Kai didn’t say a word, he just walked inside grim-faced and sat down on the sofa.
Though he was burning with anxiety, he couldn’t go upstairs to bother Charles because he knew that the most anxious person right now was Charles, not him.
The housekeeper didn’t speak, he just went to the kitchen, brought out some drinks and snacks for Kai.
After setting them down, the housekeeper asked, "Mr. Bright, what would you like to eat later?"
"Just make something simple." Kai wasn’t in the mood to eat, but he needed to make himself eat something because who knew what would happen later, he had to hold up.
"Make some for Charles too," Kai said.
"It’s already prepared and sent to the monsieur’s room." The housekeeper replied.
Kai curled his lips in a smile that lacked warmth, "That guy’s always calm no matter what."
Sophie hadn’t woken up. If Charles didn’t eat or drink, he wouldn’t have any energy for what’s next, it was pointless otherwise.
