Chapter 1249: Chapter 1249: No Strength
Old Mrs. Seymour’s words made Clarissa Taylor feel very comfortable. In this life, she asked for nothing else but her daughter’s happiness.
Then the two families began to discuss the guest list and such. They knew there were other things they didn’t need to worry about.
What kind of wedding to have, Chinese or Western, Charles Seymour surely has an idea. They just need to settle the guest list and the betrothal gifts and dowry.
In fact, these two things are just formalities. With the relationship between Charles Seymour and Sophie Wilson, how would they care about these things?
Haven’t you seen that now Charles Seymour is working for Sophie Wilson? Even the Peace Group has been given to Sophie, so are these betrothal gifts and dowry important?
After everything was discussed, Clarissa Taylor and Mason Wilson took their leave. When the car drove out, Mason Wilson immediately saw Chloe White standing at the entrance of the Seymour Family’s old mansion.
However, Mason Wilson did not pause and drove away.
After leaving the community, Clarissa Taylor frowned and said, "That Chloe White is still frequently in contact with the Seymour Family."
"The Seymour, Clark, and White families are all established families in the Imperial City, it’s normal for them to have connections." Mason Wilson said without a hint of worry, "Chloe White is interested in Charles, but, unfortunately, Charles Seymour has no interest in her at all."
Mason Wilson is very confident about this point.
Seeing the confidence in Mason Wilson, Clarissa Taylor couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.
Even though his heart was displeased that Charles Seymour had "taken" Sophie away, at other times, he still believed in Charles Seymour.
Just as they’d sent off Mason Wilson and Clarissa Taylor, Old Mr. Seymour and others heard from the butler that Chloe White had arrived. Old Mrs. Seymour frowned slightly, nodded, and said, "Let her in."
"Chloe is here." Old Mrs. Seymour welcomed with a smile.
"Grandma." Chloe White said with a smile, "A relative from my family just sent some wild game from the mountains. I brought it to you, hoping you can try something fresh."
"You’re so thoughtful." Old Mrs. Seymour smiled as she asked the maid to put things away. In the past, their two families had a pretty good relationship, so it was unnecessary to decline these.
"Grandma, what are you busy with?" Chloe White asked with a smile.
"Oh, isn’t it because Charles is going to marry Sophie? I need to prepare well for them." Old Mrs. Seymour said happily.
"Charles... is getting married?" Chloe White’s heart tightened, her entire blood seemed to freeze, icy cold.
"Yes." Old Mrs. Seymour said naturally, "They’ve been engaged for so long, of course, it’s time to get married."
"Charles loves Sophie so much that if he doesn’t marry her soon, he won’t be at ease." Old Mrs. Seymour teased with a smile, "Let me tell you, when has that rascal ever been in such a hurry before? It’s meeting someone he loves, he can’t wait."
"Oh, really?" Chloe White tried hard to remain calm, but all her self-control was shattered upon hearing about Charles Seymour’s marriage. Her ability to sit there wasn’t due to her strength but... she didn’t have the strength to stand up.
"I don’t think Charles is such a hasty person." Chloe White didn’t want to acknowledge this fact, said dryly.
"Not in a hurry, that’s because he hadn’t met someone he liked." Old Mrs. Seymour said with a smile, "When you meet someone you like, you’ll be just as eager."
