Chapter 1251: Chapter 1251: Deeply Disappointed

The door creaked open, and Ethan Seymour turned his head to see James Reed entering from outside.

"James, you’re back? Tired?" Ethan Seymour suppressed his irritation and asked with a smile.

"Have you eaten? I’ll ask the maid to make you something." Charlotte Reed hurriedly said.

"Mom and Dad, I’ve eaten." James Reed replied with a smile, "You don’t need to fuss."

"I’m going upstairs for a shower and then to work on some company matters." James Reed said, "The company is at a critical phase recently..."

"James Reed." Hayley Cole, who always had little presence in this home, suddenly appeared at the stairway, looking down at James Reed with a grin of schadenfreude. "Charles Seymour and Sophie Wilson are getting married."

Hayley Cole wanted to see surprise, anger, and reluctance on James Reed’s face, but unfortunately, none of the emotions she desired surfaced there.

James Reed merely smiled, nodded, and said, "I know about this. Hayley, you already heard about our brother at home? That’s great; when our brother and sister-in-law’s wedding comes, let’s prepare a nice gift for them..."

At this point, James Reed suddenly seemed to realize something, turned, and awkwardly said to Ethan Seymour, "Dad, you can deliver the gift to our brother for me. I’m worried that he might be unhappy if I give it."

"Give him nothing!" Ethan Seymour lost his cool instantly, "If he doesn’t want your things, forget him! Why recognize him? Let me tell you, as long as I’m here, he’s not your brother!"

"Don’t be upset." Charlotte Reed quickly advised, "James is just worried about getting caught in a difficult position. James recognizes him because you are his father."

"Fine, from now on, don’t consider him your brother." Ethan Seymour waved his hand, realizing he was too impulsive earlier. James acknowledging that brat as a brother is just because James is filial. Why blame James?

Really.

"Alright, you should go back to working on the company’s matters." Ethan Seymour said, then turning to Charlotte Reed, "Ask the maid to get James something to drink."

"Okay, I’m on it." Charlotte Reed replied cheerfully and headed to the kitchen.

"Then I’ll head upstairs." James Reed said and then ascended the stairs, passing Hayley Cole as he did, he kindly asked, "Hayley, don’t worry about me. I know what I’m doing."

After James Reed finished his sentence, Hayley Cole didn’t feel any warmth from it, only a chilling sensation spreading from her heart.

James Reed, James Reed is utterly terrifying.

Even at this moment, he can still put on such an act...

As Hayley Cole stared in a daze, Ethan Seymour went upstairs, looked at her, and shook his head with a heavy sigh.

Aside from a hefty sigh, Ethan Seymour didn’t want to say a word to her; he was too disappointed in Hayley Cole.

Through this period, Hayley Cole had matured significantly more than before.

While Ethan Seymour is disappointed in her, she feels pity for him!

She’s now clear about the true nature of James Reed and his mother, while Ethan Seymour remains oblivious!

Eventually, Ethan Seymour will face retribution!

She’s just waiting, waiting for that day to come!

What she didn’t know was that once inside the room, James Reed was anything but calm; on the contrary, his face was contorted, shedding the gentle and humble demeanor he showed just moments ago outside: "Charles Seymour, you’ve forced me!"
