Chapter 1265: Chapter 1265: Discovery

Old Mrs. Seymour glared, and Old Mr. Seymour instantly backed down, coaxing his wife inside to eat something and cool off.

The nanny was watching over the little one on the side, so the elderly couple felt at ease sitting in the house. They were getting on in years—playing with the kid for a while was fine, but if it went on too long, they really didn’t have the energy.

Charles and Sophie’s arrangement was actually pretty good: whenever they missed the little one, they’d come stay for a few days, then go back.

——

"Chloe, what’s wrong?" Chloe White’s friend looked in puzzlement at her, who had suddenly stopped walking. Following her gaze, she happened to see the Seymour Family’s villa.

"Over there..." Chloe blinked and asked, "Did you see the child over there?"

Her friend gave it a curious glance and said, "Yeah, I saw. What about it?"

"Don’t you think it’s weird? Why would the Seymour Family have such a young child?" Chloe grew even more confused.

"Maybe it’s some relative’s or friend’s kid." The friend looked at Chloe, not understanding. What was there to be puzzled about?

"Mm..." Chloe seemed to accept that answer, but still walked over. "I’ll go ask."

"Hey..." Her friend wanted to stop her, but Chloe moved too fast and had already walked over.

The friend curled her lips helplessly. Chloe was great in every way, except her obsession with Charles Seymour ran way too deep.

What’s so strange about the Seymour Family having a little kid?

That’s what she thought, but she still had to follow along and take a look.

"Hi there, little one, what’s your name?" Standing outside the yard fence, Chloe White showed a gentle smile and softly asked the little one.

The little one was holding a water gun, halting mid-charge, tilting his little head and staring at Chloe White with big, dark, round eyes.

Her friend took one look at that adorable little face and her heart just about melted. If she hadn’t had a shred of rationality left, she honestly wanted to dash over, scoop the little guy up, and plant a couple of kisses on him.

How can anyone be this cute?

"Hey, little one?" Chloe didn’t get the answer she wanted, so she called out again.

Then she saw the little one put away his water gun, his chubby little face going serious, turn around, and walk off.

Absolutely ruthless and cold!

"Ahhh... this kid has so much personality!" Chloe’s friend squealed quietly in excitement. So cute, so cute!

"Miss White." The Seymour Family’s nanny walked over and politely greeted Chloe White.

Chloe nodded with a smile and asked, "Whose child is that? He’s really adorable."

"He’s our young master’s child." The nanny said, then turned and chased after the little one back into the house, while Chloe stood there like she’d been struck by lightning, frozen in place.

"Chloe? Chloe?" Her friend patted the dazed, distracted Chloe and asked, "What’s wrong with you?"

"That, that... kid is actually..."

"Is actually what?" Her friend pressed her curiously.

"N-nothing. Let’s go." Chloe hurriedly swallowed back what she had been about to say. She absolutely couldn’t leak this secret.

Her friend gave Chloe a look, forced down her curiosity, and left with her.

On Sophie Wilson’s side, every evening she waited for Charles Seymour to get off work so they could go keep the little one company together. As for the daytime, she was busy with something else.

"Originally this was supposed to be turned into a shopping complex. Back then the second and third floors here were a supermarket, that area over there was specialty stores, plus some small shops, and upstairs there was a cinema, restaurants, that kind of thing."
