Chapter 1299: It’s a Misunderstanding

Chapter 1299: Chapter 1299: It’s a Misunderstanding

"No need for too much gratitude," Sophie Wilson said with a smile, looking at Henry Chapman who was trembling all over. "We’re just this filial."

"Alright, no need to see us off. We’re leaving." Just as Sophie Wilson was about to get into the car, Henry Chapman suddenly reached out to grab her. "Sophie Wilson... ah, it hurts, it hurts... let go."

Sophie Wilson turned around and looked at Henry Chapman, who was being held by the wrist by Charles Seymour, and asked helplessly, "Mr. Chapman, what are you trying to do? Forcing a guest to stay?"

"Let go... ah!" Henry Chapman cried out in pain, and his housemaid rushed inside scared to call for help.

"Charles Seymour, what are you doing?" Old Mr. Chapman stormed out angrily, "Let go, I said let go!"

Charles Seymour completely ignored Old Mr. Chapman and instead looked at Sophie Wilson, silently asking for her opinion.

"Let him go," Sophie Wilson said with a smile.

Only then did Charles Seymour release his hand, and Henry Chapman retreated cautiously, rubbing his wrist.

"What do you want?" Old Mr. Chapman came up to the car, glaring at them in reproach.

"Sir, it was your grandson who came here to attack me. My Mr. Seymour was merely protecting me," Sophie Wilson explained patiently.

"You’re spouting nonsense, Henry isn’t that kind of person," Old Mr. Chapman denied outright.

"Alright, then let’s call the police and sort this out," Sophie Wilson straightforwardly took out her phone, ready to call the police.

"Forget it, Grandpa." Henry Chapman shook his head and stopped her, "Sophie Wilson, you all should leave."

"We’re not going to take the blame lying down," Sophie Wilson sneered. So what do they think, that they can summon us here and dismiss us as they please?

She wasn’t going to be that "obedient."

"We’re still going to get the police involved," Sophie Wilson was about to make the call again.

Henry Chapman frowned and quickly said, "It was a misunderstanding earlier."

After hearing this, Sophie Wilson looked towards Old Mr. Chapman and said, "Sir, did you hear that?"

"It’s because your grandson did something that led to the misunderstanding, that’s why my Mr. Seymour had to be cautious of him," Sophie Wilson explained, and Henry Chapman’s face turned completely black.

Is that what he meant by misunderstanding?

He wanted to give both sides a way out, he didn’t want this to escalate into a police report, making it so embarrassing. Who would’ve thought that Sophie Wilson would say that?

Could a misunderstanding be explained this way?

"I..."

"What? Are you wanting to deny it now? The words you just said, are you treating them like hot air?" Sophie Wilson sneered, "Guess you’ve truly inherited the Chapman family tradition."

"You, get out!" Old Mr. Chapman shouted angrily, his face stern, "Don’t ever come to my house again."

"Don’t worry, sir. If you hadn’t invited us here, we wouldn’t have come," Sophie Wilson said with a smiling face, then turned her head and curiously asked Charles Seymour, "Some people are really strange. Without even giving them a call, that’s clearly showing you don’t want to contact them, but they persistently want to reach out... Let me tell you, all your money is mine, don’t casually give it to those cheap relatives looking to take advantage."

Just as Sophie Wilson finished speaking, she heard Henry Chapman shouting from behind, "Grandpa..."

Sophie Wilson coldly sneered inwardly, got into the car, and the driver drove away.

"Did he just faint from anger like that?" A flash of resentful hatred appeared in Sophie Wilson’s eyes as she glanced back, "Such a poor mental state."

Back then, when they bullied young Charles Seymour, why were their bodies so robust?
