Rebirth: I have Monopoly System

Chapter 258 - 256: The Overconfident Woman

The crowd watched as Gao Qiang took out his phone and dialed the police, quickly explaining the situation and their location.

Wu Yun, meanwhile, calmly called Wang Hao and told him to come over and take full responsibility for handling the matter.

Wang Hao, who was on vacation, didn’t dare to delay. He quickly hailed a DiDi and rushed over to the Shida Lion Mountain Campus.

At this point, no one mentioned going to the movies anymore.

Soon, a police car pulled up nearby, and two uniformed officers got out.

"Excuse me, who called the police?" an officer around thirty years old asked.

Gao Qiang was still furious. He stepped forward and said, "I did! Officer, someone splashed fluorescent liquid on my friend’s car, and now it won’t wash off! It has to be repainted. I just asked the dealership, and it’s going to cost at least six figures!"

"So I wanted to call you guys first before calling the woman who did it!"

The officer made his way through the crowd and saw that the car that had been splashed was a Rolls-Royce. He realized Gao Qiang’s claim about a six-figure repair cost probably wasn’t an exaggeration.

But just to be sure, he tried to wipe it, but no matter how he tried, he couldn’t get the fluorescent liquid off the paint.

Resigned, the officer took the note from Wu Yun’s hand, pulled out his phone, and made the call.

"Hello! This is an officer from the ** Street Police Station! Are you the one who poured fluorescent liquid on a car? I need you to come to the scene right now. The car owner has already filed a police report!" The officer’s tone was relatively calm.

Unexpectedly, the woman on the other end flew into a rage. "What do you mean, *I* poured it on the car?! I accidentally spilled it! Who told him to park there anyway? For all I know, he did it on purpose to get my attention! Didn’t I leave a note saying I’d pay for a car wash?! Why is this person so petty! Calling the police over something so minor! It was generous enough of me to leave my contact information!"

The officer instantly understood that this woman had no idea how big of a mistake she’d made. He explained, "The fluorescent liquid you poured on the car door can’t be wiped off, so it needs to be repainted."

Before the officer could finish, the woman cut him off. "Then repaint it! What’s the big deal? Just take a picture of the receipt when it’s done, and I’ll pay him! That’s it, I’m busy!"

BEEP BEEP BEEP...

The officer gave a wry smile and dialed again. The woman answered first, "Are you kidding me? I said I’d pay! Stop bothering me!"

The officer’s tone became serious. "Ma’am, I suggest you come down to the scene and see for yourself. The car you splashed is a Rolls-Royce. The repair cost is estimated to be in the six figures."

As soon as the officer finished speaking, the woman’s shriek came through the phone. "What?! Six figures to repaint some ugly-colored car?! That’s extortion! It only costs a few hundred to repaint my car! Don’t think I won’t sue you for abuse of power just because you’re a cop!"

Because the officer had the phone on speaker to make it easier for his body cam to record everything, everyone nearby could clearly hear what the woman was saying.

Some of the onlookers even covered their mouths to keep from laughing. They couldn’t believe such a bizarre woman actually existed.

The officer had seen a lot in his time and had met plenty of people like her. He didn’t get angry, but continued in a calm tone, "Ma’am, I suggest you look up the price of a Rolls-Royce. Please come over as soon as possible. Because the amount of money involved is so large, the owner has the right to sue you in court to request compulsory enforcement or even have you sent to jail."

Perhaps the officer’s words startled the woman. She was heard muttering, "Is it really that serious? He must be lying to me!" With that, she hung up again.

Not long after the call ended, Wang Hao pushed through the crowd and squeezed his way in.

Wang Hao had run over after getting out of the car and was still catching his breath when he asked, "President Wu, what are your instructions?"

With a dark expression, Wu Yun pointed to the passenger-side door of the Phantom and said, "The paint on this door is ruined. When the people from the dealership get here, you’ll handle this completely. My demands aren’t high: either she pays up, or she does time."

Originally, Wu Yun hadn’t planned on pursuing the matter. If the woman had shown a better attitude and apologized, he might have just laughed it off and let it go.

But since this was how things turned out, he definitely wouldn’t let her off the hook.

"I’ve told you the outcome I want. You figure out how to get it done. If you can’t handle it and need to file a lawsuit or something, call the legal department."

Wang Hao took the Rolls-Royce keys—which felt like a hot potato—and Wu Yun’s work phone. He steeled himself and agreed. He knew that following President Wu meant he would encounter more and more situations like this, and he had to learn how to handle them, or sooner or later, he’d be replaced.

Wu Yun brought Wang Hao over to the police officer and said, "Officer, this is my secretary. I have something to attend to, so I may have to leave in a bit. He will handle the rest of this matter completely."

This was a first for the officer. He hesitated for a moment, adjusted his body cam, and asked, "Sir, I just want to confirm with you again, are you authorizing your secretary to handle this matter?"

"Yes," Wu Yun said with a nod.

During dinner earlier, Zhang Xiaojing’s roommates hadn’t really thought Wu Yun had the air of a boss. But now, with his secretary here, the way he handled things made him seem just like a domineering CEO from a TV drama—tall, handsome, rich, and decisive.

Another ten minutes passed, and a BMW that had been approaching at high speed pulled into an empty parking spot nearby.

Three people in professional attire got out of the car.

A woman in a business suit walked over quickly and said, "Mr. Wu, I’m so sorry we’re late! This is Manager Liu from our after-sales department, and this is Engineer Zhao, the head of our technical department."

Wu Yun nodded and said, "First, inspect it. See what the exact repair cost will be."
