Rebirth: I have Monopoly System
Chapter 263 - 259: The Court Accepts the CaseTo be honest, Wu Yun had very few hobbies. Even though his mental age was only twenty-seven or twenty-eight, he felt that most modern forms of entertainment didn’t appeal to him.
In Rongcheng, Wang Gang and the others had invited him for foot massages several times, but Wu Yun had only gone once, and he’d kept it completely clean.
As for the other services... one look through his glasses was enough for Wu Yun to lose all interest. ’They’re just public buses, what’s so great about them? Every single one shows serious wear and tear.’
Wu Yun felt he needed to cultivate some hobbies different from his past life. ’Sea fishing, for instance. That’s a good one! Buy a yacht, go out to sea, experience the thrill of the catch, and even invite some girls for a party.’
Or off-roading and camping. These were activities he wouldn’t have even dared to dream of in his previous life, but now he could do them whenever he pleased.
With his money, he could even buy a manor or a farm in America, play with guns, go hunting... wouldn’t that be wonderful?
Shaking these perfectly achievable ideas from his head, Wu Yun turned his attention to the computer screen in front of him.
On the screen, a character in a ghillie suit lay prone in the grass, constantly shifting their view to survey the surroundings.
In the bottom-left corner of the screen, a smaller window showed a beautiful girl wearing a headset—the streamer, Susan.
A deep, muffled gunshot echoed from the expensive speakers in Wu Yun’s office. A moment later, a notification appeared in Susan’s stream: she had killed "Douyu-PUBG God of Guns" with a Kar98k.
Wu Yun immediately sent another rocket.
Watching the rocket launch across her screen, Susan thanked him, somewhat mechanically, "Thanks for the rocket, President Wu!"
The viewers in the stream chat spammed "666," "Be my sugar daddy," and "Let me ride your coattails."
After Susan got a "winner winner chicken dinner," Wu Yun immediately sent 99 rockets, causing her stream’s popularity to explode.
A flood of new viewers poured in, and the on-screen comments scrolled by without a break.
"President Wu, want to team up for a four-person squad?" Susan asked with a smile, instead of immediately starting a new match.
Susan’s proposal was met with enthusiastic support from the viewers, who spammed the chat with requests to join.
Since Wu Yun had nothing better to do, he agreed to team up.
Soon, a player named "Wushan Cloud Rain" appeared in Susan’s lobby.
Seeing Wushan Cloud Rain’s flashy outfit and M4A1 with a custom skin, the viewers immediately flooded the chat, asking where he got his skins.
Susan asked through her headset, "President Wu, the viewers want to know where you got your skins."
Since the mouse in his office wasn’t a gaming mouse, Wu Yun simply turned on his microphone and said, "The game is currently in closed beta. This one is the only one on the entire server—a custom design!"
But Wu Yun then explained, "According to our plans, in a few days, everyone will be able to use their accumulated silver coins to open loot boxes for a chance to get character outfits or weapon skins."
"Of course, we’ll also be opening an in-game store later on, but that’s for another time."
Because he had the game running, Wu Yun couldn’t see the jealous comments flooding the stream chat.
Soon, Susan randomly invited two other viewers with accounts, and they started the match.
On the plane, someone asked, "Susan, where are we dropping this round?"
Considering they hadn’t played together before, Susan said, "Let’s play it safe for the first round. We’ll get a feel for teamwork. We’ll play cautiously and drop in a remote area."
As soon as Wu Yun landed, he ducked into a small two-story building, picked up a shotgun off the floor, and quickly loaded it.
He quickly finished searching the building. His luck was average this time; he only managed to find a level-one armor set, an SMG, and a shotgun.
The cluster of houses here was only big enough for each of the four to take one building.
"What the fuck! I don’t have a gun! Only a machete!" one of the viewers cursed.
Susan and the other player both reported that they had also only found one gun each.
Wu Yun was surprised to find he had the best gear. "Number Three, come over here," he said. "I’ll give you my shotgun."
Wu Yun then dropped the shotgun on the ground and tossed out the ammo he had picked up for it.
After Number Three equipped the gear, he said in the voice channel, "Thanks, President Wu!"
Just then, the sound of gunfire echoed in the distance before falling silent again.
"What’s the situation? Where are they?" Seeing that neither of their health bars had changed and there were no kill notifications in the top-right corner, Wu Yun asked.
Susan’s calm voice came through the channel, a stark contrast to the easily excited girl she was offline. "In the house in front of me. From the sound of it, there’s only one person!"
"Roger! On my way!"
Wu Yun and Number Three ran directly toward the buildings where Susan and the other player were.
Soon, the four of them had surrounded the small two-story building.
"On my count! Three, two, one... go!" Susan commanded.
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"CREAK!" "CRASH!" The sound of a door opening and a window breaking rang out simultaneously.
The group then rushed up to the second floor.
"RAT-A-TAT-TAT-TAT~" An SMG roared to life.
Number Four, who was in the lead, was instantly downed. Before the person on the second floor could react, two blasts from Susan’s shotgun turned him into a loot box.
"Number Three, revive Number Four!" Susan said as she quickly looted the crate and switched to the SMG.
Then Susan tossed a first-aid kit next to Number Four before shattering a second-floor window and jumping out.
The four of them continued to play cautiously, gearing up. With two expert players like Susan and Wu Yun on the team, they stumbled their way into the final circle without losing anyone.
By the final circle, Wu Yun and Susan both had level-three armor sets and fully-kitted M4s. Even Number Three and Number Four, the two players just along for the ride, were equipped with level-three armor.
The viewers had originally thought Wu Yun would be a terrible player, but he ended up getting even more kills than Susan!
This led many to hold his skills in extremely high regard.
As expected, with Susan and Wu Yun’s teamwork, they managed to carry their two dead-weight teammates to a first-place victory.
The moment they got the "winner winner chicken dinner," the gifts in Susan’s stream started pouring in nonstop. Even though they were mostly small gifts, they showed just how popular the stream had become.
Just then, there was a knock on Wu Yun’s office door.
Wu Yun first said into his mic, "Wait for me a sec!"
Then he hung his headset around his neck and said, "Come in!"
Wang Hao walked up to the desk with a laptop bag slung over his shoulder. "President Wu," he said, "everything has been taken care of!"
"Oh?" Wu Yun’s interest was piqued. "Is that woman still being stubborn? Did she refuse to pay compensation?"
Wang Hao nodded, a look of lingering fear on his face. "That woman was convinced you deliberately parked your car there to block her usual path as a way to get her contact information."
"Seeing how stubborn she was, we finished the police report, obtained the security footage from that day, and went directly to the local court to file a lawsuit on Monday morning."
"The court said they still need a few business days to review the case. An employee there told me there’s a ninety-nine percent chance it will be accepted and that I should go home and wait for a notification."
Wu Yun nodded. "Alright! Good work. There’s not much else going on today. Just go find President Zhou Shen and get the schedule for tomorrow."
