Several days had passed since the ICBC's year-end appreciation gala.

The weekend had arrived, and today was the day Wang Gang and the others had planned to get together. That evening, the construction contractor Li Dongliang recommended was treating them all to dinner.

But before that, the guys had to help Li Dongliang with something: they were going to be his wingmen while he was on a blind date.

"Young Master Wu! Are you here yet?" Wang Gang urged over the phone.

Wang Gang and the other two also noticed that Li Dongliang's blind date had taken her seat. Hearing Wu Yun's exclamation, Cao Junlong realized this was the same girl Wu Yun had been staring at earlier.

"Young Master Wu! You know her?" The flame of gossip instantly ignited in Cao Junlong's heart.

Wu Yun thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "Her name is Zhang Xiaojing. She's the new girlfriend of a childhood friend of mine! She's still a sophomore in college!"

"She's probably just here today to placate her family," Wu Yun added, recalling what Qi Fei had said about Zhang Xiaojing's family. He was trying to find an excuse for her in his mind.

First, Wu Yun took a photo with his phone, making sure to only capture Zhang Xiaojing and Li Dongliang's hands on the table.

Then he looked left and right, spotted the baseball cap on Ye Wentao's head, and said with a smile, "Brother Tao, let me borrow your hat. I'm going in for some close-range reconnaissance."

Just then, Wang Gang stopped Wu Yun, explaining, "Young Master Wu, you'd better not go over there! Let's give Dongliang some private space. We can just watch from here! We can ask him whatever we want later. Don't go, it'll be awkward if the girl spots you!"

Wu Yun thought about it and realized he was being reckless. On one side was his childhood friend, and on the other, his business partner. This was indeed a difficult relationship to handle, and there was no need to do all this over a woman.

But his eyes remained fixed on Li Dongliang's table.

"Young Master Wu, tell us about this Zhang Xiaojing~" Cao Junlong said curiously, turning to look at the pair who were sharing very formulaic, awkward smiles.

Wu Yun glanced over again before speaking, "I don't know that much either. I've only met Zhang Xiaojing once. She goes to the same university as me, but she's at the Lishishan Campus."

"Last time was when we went out to eat, and my Phantom got splashed with fluorescent water. You guys should have heard about that."

"But I've heard about her family situation from Qi Fei."

Wu Yun then shared the information he knew.

After hearing the story, the other three instantly understood her family's intentions. It was nothing more than wanting to hitch a ride on the big ship that was Li Dongliang's father.

"If this Zhang Xiaojing were half as pretty as your girlfriend, Dongliang might actually consider it! You have to know, Dongliang is a guy who's all about looks; he just doesn't usually show it!" Wang Gang said confidently, watching Li Dongliang's somewhat stiff smile.

Wang Gang and Li Dongliang had basically grown up together, so he knew Li Dongliang's preferences very well. Therefore, after seeing what Zhang Xiaojing looked like, he immediately came to a conclusion.

Sure enough, although Li Dongliang and Zhang Xiaojing were talking and laughing the whole time, they looked more like just two friends having a meal.

After paying the bill and seeing Zhang Xiaojing out, Li Dongliang returned to the restaurant.

"However, I promised her I'd go back and say that *I* was the one who didn't want to pursue things. She didn't want to make her parents and grandparents angry!"

Hearing Li Dongliang's words, Wu Yun sighed. With an answer like that, Zhang Xiaojing would only face an endless series of blind dates until one of them finally worked out, because her family would assume she wasn't opposed to their arrangements.

It seemed like Gao Qiang's relationship was destined to end soon. So, Wu Yun tucked the matter away in his heart, planning to see how things developed between Gao Qiang and her before deciding whether to tell him about it.
