"Dad, should we go together?"

Han Xiangjun couldn’t refuse his son’s request. In the end, he nodded. He could also help take care of Shi Xian, that naughty child.

Watching his friend being so excited, he found it amusing. This guy could finally tell people he was Jiang Xinyu’s husband; it wasn’t easy.

He knew his friend’s thoughts. Wei Kaiyun, who usually had everything under control, was surprisingly passive in front of Jiang Xinyu.

He seemed like someone worried about being abandoned at any time, lacking confidence.

To be honest, they already had three kids. What is there to be afraid and worried about?

Xiao Jiang’s character is absolutely trustworthy; she would never change her heart. As long as the friend hasn’t wronged Niang San, Xiao Jiang definitely wouldn’t leave.

Actually, his friend is quite lucky to have found such a good wife, much better than himself, whose life would just go on like this.

There’s nothing bad about it; if it works out, stay together, if not, part ways; just paying money would suffice.

"Old Han, we are going out, do you want to join us or stay at home?"

"Jianbin will go with you guys. I’ll just stay home. I’m old, with old arms and legs, and can’t keep up with these kids’ antics."

Feifei gave Han Xiangjun a contemptuous look; he was the one who played the craziest, yet he acted like this. It’s truly eye-opening how thick-skinned people can be.

The two carried the two younger ones, followed by the three older ones who held snacks, which were specialties bought in the Capital, and the whole family set off.

Han Xiangjun stared at their backs in a daze. Did his son consider them family?

Looking at their backs, they indeed seemed very much like a family.

"Shi Jing, Feifei, do you remember Xiangting?"

"Of course, Sister Xiangting sings so well," Feifei said with a smile.

"I remember too, and I remember Liangyu."

"We are going to their house; they should be home from school soon."

"I wonder how tall Sister Xiangting has gotten?"

"We’ll know when we see her."

Their homes were not far apart, and when they arrived at the Chen Family, Xiangting had just returned.

"Sister Xiangting!"

Chen Xiangting was stunned for a moment, looking at the young girl who called her. "Feifei? Is that you, Feifei?"

"Yes, it’s me! Sister Xiangting, you still remember me."

Chen Xiangting ran over to Jiang Xinyu’s side. "Aunt."

"Xiangting," Jiang Xinyu said with a smile.

"That’s great, Aunt, you’re back. Feifei, let’s go home; my mom should be off work soon."

The family followed the young girl. "Grandpa, Grandma, Liangyu, my aunt is here, she’s back."

Chen Guoliang’s parents and Chen Liangyu came out. Over the years, the two elders hadn’t changed much, but Liangyu certainly had grown taller.

"Daughter, you’re finally back. Your sister has been talking about you every day."

"Auntie, I’m back," Jiang Xinyu said, patting Liangyu’s head. "Do you remember your aunt?"

"I remember Aunt, and I remember my brother and sister."

"Good, good, come in quickly. Ailing and Guo Liang will be back soon. Old man, go buy some groceries. Today we’ll have them eat at home."

"Auntie, don’t bother. We’ve already made plans to eat out tonight, we’ll come over for dinner next time."

"How can you not eat at home?"

"Auntie, we’ll be staying here for a while."

Xiangting held Feifei’s hand, and the two young girls felt particularly close.

Shi Jing and Jianbin greeted each other as well and played with Liangyu. Mother Chen kept praising the kids, especially after seeing Shi Xian and Tingting; she found them incredibly cute, and took out many tasty treats.

"Daughter, who is this?" the old lady asked, pointing at Wei Kaiyun.

"Auntie, he is the children’s father."

Wei Kaiyun also smiled and greeted the elders.

"He looks so good-looking; no wonder Feifei is so pretty, her dad is handsome."

Jiang Xinyu chuckled at this remark; the old lady did have an eye for things. Wei Kaiyun indeed looked good, not the refined type like Lv Beiguang, but had a gentle and elegant air about him.

It’s more of a scholarly vibe, which makes him particularly pleasant to look at.

"Uncle, Auntie, you’re all in good health, right?"

"Good, very good."

Everyone sat on the kang chatting, waiting for Wang Ailing to come back.

But the time was getting late, and they couldn’t keep everyone waiting long.

Today, Wang Ailing came home fifteen minutes earlier than usual because she skipped her bath.

She pushed her bike into the yard and immediately heard Jiang Xinyu’s voice, rushing inside the house.

Seeing Wang Ailing come in, Jiang Xinyu stood up with a smile. "Sis, if you hadn’t come back, I was about to leave."

"You brat actually know how to come back?"

Wang Ailing excitedly held Jiang Xinyu’s hand; her voice even trembled slightly.

Jiang Xinyu’s eyes reddened. "Sis, I came back to visit you, didn’t I?"

Wang Ailing looked at Jiang Xinyu, who hadn’t changed much, touching her soft hand, all her worries were relieved.

She noticed Wei Kaiyun belatedly. "Director Wei?"

Wei Kaiyun nodded with a smile, unsure how to address her.

Wang Ailing looked at Jiang Xinyu, her face full of questions.

"Sis, Wei Kaiyun is the children’s father."

Wang Ailing was stunned, suddenly pulling Jiang Xinyu over, looking like she wanted to give her a good scolding.

"Why didn’t you tell me back then? Do you know how worried I was?"

Wang Ailing often cursed the man who got Jiang Xinyu pregnant in her mind, not expecting it to be Wei Kaiyun all along.

She hated him for deceiving Xinyu, for getting a young girl pregnant and then a child being born, mad at his irresponsibility.

Yet she never dared to ask, afraid it would upset her sister, who never shared her innermost thoughts. She feared stimulating her.

She never expected it to be this old man? So Wang Ailing gave Wei Kaiyun a sidelong look, tapping Jiang Xinyu’s back in anger.

"Sis, it was really impossible to say back then."

"You’re such a good girl; why did you settle for someone older?"

Wei Kaiyun felt innocent; although he was much older, he truly cared for her.

Feifei listened at the side, knowing Aunt Wang was furious.

"Auntie, can Sister Xiangting and Liangyu join us for dinner later?"

Wang Ailing looked at the pretty face of Feifei watching her and squatted down, holding back her anger. "Feifei, come over for dinner tomorrow; today, I won’t let sister and brother go with you."

She knew tonight, there would be lots of people at the dinner, and taking care of the kids would be distracting.

"Yes, Feifei, you come to my house for dinner tomorrow."

At this moment, the tension eased. Wang Ailing wasn’t as angry anymore, but she still wouldn’t look at Wei Kaiyun, even though she once admired him. After all, many people used to compare Qian Jun, who had been a director for years, unfavorably against Director Wei.
