Bunny couldn’t shake the snake off. Once she confirmed it had no intention of attacking, she finally took a proper look at what the little crybaby actually looked like.

It was a rare pure-black black mamba. Ordinary black mambas were usually brownish.

Every scale along its body shimmered with an obsidian sheen—smooth, tight, and cool as polished jade. Two small protruding horns sat on its head.

Had it mutated?

Feeling bolder, she coiled it into her palm and examined it carefully. The black mamba was genuinely beautiful—like a shrunken version of a dark warrior’s blade, or a miniature dragon.

The snake wrapped itself obediently around her wrist and flicked its tongue against her skin.

The only problem was that it seemed to be performing a certain highly inappropriate action the entire time.

She flipped it over. The place it had been rubbing against was already marked with flushed, intimate red streaks. It simply stared up at her with big, innocent, rolling eyes.

Bunny’s expression darkened. Truly like master, like spirit form—this creature had exactly the same rotten personality as its owner.

To make it let go, she resorted to tickling its underbelly, uncertain whether snakes even had ticklish spots.

After a while of determined scratching, the entire snake went completely limp with a soft plop. Bunny seized the chance and withdrew from Illai’s spiritual sea.

The moment she opened her eyes, however, she sensed something was off.

Illai’s face was flushed deep red. Every line of his abs stood out in sharp tension. Those peach-blossom eyes were glazed with misty heat, as though a woman had just thoroughly had him.

Bunny thought something was wrong with him. "What is it? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"

Illai tilted his face up, breathing in soft, uneven gasps.

"No... it’s just that your touching felt too good..."

She had nearly driven him past the point of endurance.

Who told your spirit form to latch onto her and refuse to let go?

Once she had rested enough, she wanted Orion to continue teaching her practical shooting. She turned her head—

"Orion, why are your ears so red?"

The named twin gave a small jolt and hunched his shoulders like a caught thief, trying hard to hide his condition.

Bunny’s face filled with question marks.

She had guided Illai. Why did Orion look exactly like someone who had just received an intense guidance session as well?

At that moment, Sunny, who had been watching the entire spectacle from the side, casually exposed their secret:

"Miss Guide, twins share a mental link."

Pain was transmitted. Pleasure was transmitted too.

???

Did that mean... the last time she had performed deep guidance on Orion, Illai had felt everything as well?

What kind of mental link was this? More like a pervert link!

Looking at the two flushed snakes sitting one on her left and one on her right, she felt a sudden headache.

From now on, she would have to be much more restrained when guiding these two.

She shoved both of them aside and returned to special training.

No matter how hard she tried, no matter how many times she reviewed and studied, she still could not clear the assessment.

Bunny had been born with a stubborn, competitive streak. She refused to believe she was truly this bad. Like an unkillable cockroach, she kept restarting again and again.

Although the holographic projections caused no real physical damage, the pain was completely authentic—especially the searing agony of strong acid corrosion.

Orion and Illai were beginning to feel sorry for her. They also could not understand why Cyrus had set such a harsh training plan for Bunny, demanding she meet sentinel standards.

They themselves had needed three full days to pass this same test the first time.

"Miss Bunny, you can’t learn everything in one go. Let’s take it slowly."

Orion nodded in quiet agreement.

Bunny pushed herself up from the floor and smiled at them. "It’s fine. Slow and steady wins the race."

After living so long in a peaceful era, suddenly being thrown into a world of constant fighting and killing truly required time and effort to adapt.

The two brothers exchanged a glance. Watching that small figure struggle desperately through the swarm of aliens, something subtle and warm seemed to crackle and bloom inside their chests.

In the end, Bunny still failed to clear the assessment. After all, she had never been a special-forces soldier.

Orion and Illai carried the exhausted, unconscious guide back to rest. By pure coincidence, they ran into Cyrus again inside the elevator.

He looked as though he had just finished training as well. His gaze flicked once over Bunny in Orion’s arms.

"What happened to her?"

Illai grinned. "Miss Bunny pushed herself too hard."

The words were brief, yet carried a faint note of accusation toward Cyrus’s cold-blooded methods.

"She’s only a guide. There’s no need to torment her like this..."

Cyrus lifted his eyes. Illai immediately shut his mouth, though his expression remained extremely unpleasant.

"Give her to me."

Orion froze for a second at the hands suddenly extended toward him—until Cyrus repeated the order with clear impatience:

"Hand her over."

Orion bit his lower lip and reluctantly transferred Bunny into Cyrus’s arms, handling her as carefully as if she were a fragile vase that might shatter at the slightest touch.

The woman was deeply asleep, worn out beyond measure.

Cyrus studied her sleeping face in silence. Her lashes were thick and curled, her eyes round, the tip of her nose rounded, even her cheeks still carried a soft baby-fat fullness. The features could be called pretty, yet Cyrus had seen far too many beautiful women.

Those women who had passed the strictest genetic screening were each of them flawless, without a single visible defect. None of them had ever stirred the slightest ripple in him; he had never even bothered to look twice.

Things that were too perfect lacked a soul.

He still did not know exactly when he had begun to take an interest in Bunny. Even now he told himself it was only the natural pull of guide pheromones on a sentinel.

Perhaps their compatibility was simply a little higher than average, and Chi was throwing tantrums demanding her.

Otherwise, the beast would threaten to hang itself in protest.

This woman was different from every other woman he had encountered before—lively, unpredictable, as though she came from an entirely different world from the rest of them.
